Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

@above

thank you very much!
Hi y'all! I am trying to get back into crossbreeding right now. I am on an Iceland Horse team and if possible, would like to incooperate those into my crosses. Any ideas on what to cross them with? PM will probably be the best way to reach me as I don't check forums very often!

So I'm looking to get another crossbred comp horse like this dude before he starts to lose. But I'm looking to branch away from TB's. Can anyone recommend a good cross that wins comps easily?

Is it possible to get an all draft horse cross with equal parts (33.3%) Percheron, Shire, and Drum? If so, how would you go about doing it?

I just produced this really cute Thoroughbred/Arabian cross with a 8635.98 total genetic, and and has really good gallop skills, she is a filly, should i sell or keep for breeding?
I haven't done any crossbreeding in awhile and just started back a couple days ago. I am pretty happy with my production. My latest cross should be #1 Tennessee Walker for jumping and have some pretty stellar placements in other areas. My other two I produced have been respectable, hitting the top 10 in jumping. My "star" has a 10495.41 GP and is a 50/50 cross. My other two are a 4 way cross and a 3 way cross. I forgot how much fun these can be. My three way cross was tough to BLUP, she had a weird balance of skills so getting her wins took forever!

If anyone needs a higher level Selle for breeding, I have a mare you could use. I forgot how to link and I cannot copy and paste very well on my phone so if you would personally like to view the horse, her name is Susan-14,305.24. Shes in my other horses tab, most likely on the last or next to last page.

Her stats
14,305.70 skills
10,916.47 GP
2.31 gap underneath the top selle in covers

Thanks!

Just bred another with slightly higher GP than her, a colt!

On the way to BLUP him and then will start breeding them. Not sure if doing ordering a foal "business" would be good default smiley xd not sure if many people are interested in crosses anymore?

I know for sure they can win XC rosettes but not sure if winning rosettes is everyone goal since Grand Prix seems to be the most popular or what people try to aim for?

Does anyone have any advice for her?
I would say SJ due to the Speed/ dressage/ jump being the top 3 skills.

With the recent addition of the Kerry Bog pony, obviously my 'All Breed' wouldn't be an 'All Breed'. So welcome Harwell's Promise.

So I'm thinking about doing a Shetland dominant cross. I was thinking about it being half selle. Does that sound like a good idea?

Well, basically you have two breeds that excel in jumping, speed and dressage in that order. So your horse would be best at show jumping where all three skills are utilized, in that order. Would be a fun cross, I think.

I don't do much crossbreeding so I don't really know what's good or not, but I was actually thinking of doing the exact same cross. If you want we could work together to try it out default smiley ^)

That would work really well! plus since you want the foal to come out shetland thats extra good cause shetland GP are way lower than selles so you can actualy get a foal that will probably hae the highest GP for shetlands in the game whch will make it a breeze to win shetland only jumping competitions

Thats what I did with my arab x GV crosses.
In the process of entering an Arab team so will probably have to put my arab x GV crossbreeding on hold but will probably come back to it in the far future or will probably still do one cross once in a while

So it's been a bit since I've done any crossing. Decided to try a Shagya/Paint awhile back which resulted in my owning the #2 overall Shagya on the game. So I decided to do another -

With Your Ghost

Gonna bolt this girl and breed her to my starter cross mare in hopes of taking over the Shagya boards.
Can someone please tell me the best breed combinations for Dressage? Like what people have found is... default smiley :) I love Friesians ideally, but would like something better at them than Dressage.

dressage top skills are:

Dressage/Trot/Gallop

breed 2 horses of breeds that have the same top 3 . I would recommend using a high GP lusitano mare and breed with a lower GP breed for dressage. that way you will smash dressage comps for the lower GP breed since the foal will come out of that breed and with a higher GP

Hi all!

I want to cross-breed this TB mare, I don't really mind what the foal ends up excelling at. I'd just like a good comp horse default smiley :)

Here she is:

Any tips on what breed to cross her with?

Thank you default smiley :)
