Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I want to start crossbreeding once I get enough funds. So I was thinking of an appy/TB cross. What's a good first time goal to set?

A good first time goal is to fully train your first cross. Don't worry about GP right away until you understand crossbreeding more. GP is not a huge factor in crossbreeding depending on what you are looking at. My low-level breed-only comp horses are 3000+ GP below the current top and still win consistently.

As a matter of fact, I am trying to get one of my 73??.?? GP crosses in the rankings for most wins XC. Currently, she is at 627 wins. I need 730 XC wins to get in the top 1000.

It is crazy what crosses can and will do.

My baby has finally moved up to #7 for trot wins!!! That's as far as we are going, he doesn't win very consistently anymore and #6 would need another 2000 ish wins

Wow! @Horsebabe

That is impressive. My girl is almost in the top 1000 for XC. She is less than 100 wins off

Nice!!! I've been tempted to push another one into the top10...but it's so much work. I entered over 15000 comps with him.

I have done cross breeding, but now I have to start over! My mare, Whisper died, leaving me with over half of her foals. I am training her foals, but I need to know if breeding a Gyspy Vanner mare with a different horse will make a difference! Answer soon!

censurer This message has been censored since it does not follow the forum rules.
Censored because of a joke about a lack of time default smiley (o)

I'll ask again, minus the joke. What is the opinion on what to do with this gentleman?

Toss or keep? I'm not a fan of Thoroughbreds but he seems like he would do well as a show horse. Perhaps as a stud?

Any opinion on the other foals found in his Affix would also be helpful. Recently mass bred a few and need help sorting through them. I'm a busy person so don't want to waste my time on 'flops'.

I´m thinking about breeding my Shagya-Arabian mare with a Trakhner stallion. Would a Shagya-Arabian/Trakhner crossbred do well in any specific competition?default smiley :)

I have always been interested in crossbreeding, even back on the slovenian server I first played in a few years ago, but sadly, there wasn't a crossbreeding community there, since everyone was preoccupied improving the GP of purebreed horses and catching up with the international server.
I am thus still an amateur, but I am currently mixing up a few breeds to see what comes out of it. I have blupped upt my Lusitano/SF mix, but so far, she keeps losing, not that that matters in the long run, since I will be only using her to produce a Friesian mixed offspring.
I got a few good Lusitano horses, with nice GP and their mother is almost completely blupped up so they have a lot of inborn skills, and I'm considering using them and breeding them with the 25% SF, 25% Lusitano 50% Friesian mixes, just to see what happens.
Like they say, when it comes to crossbreeding it's a bit of trial and error, but I do this for fun so I'm just looking for interesting combinations, not successful ones.
My mare should be in the rankings tomorrow as she now has over 730 wins. I am so hyped right now.
