It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Hello fellow Howrse lovers,

I am fairly new to the game and I love the idea of NIB, so I hope that this post follows the guidelines for this particular thread.

As I said, I love the NIB idea, so I’ve started playing around with a couple of breeds with this in mind. Currently I have:

Donkey
Shire
Kerry Bog (unicorns and regular…I purchased passes at the ‘right’ time)
Gypsy Vanners

While I’ve been having fun on my own, I can see how working with others would make my experience MUCH more fun. I’m wondering if there are teams out there that are looking for members, even newer ones to the game like me default smiley :).

Welcome to those that are new to the NIB community! I hope you come to enjoy it and stick around. We are all great here! Great hearing from all the long time NIB breeders out there too, you have truly been an inspiration to me to keep plugging forward and always improve my herd.

I am getting back to doing more NIB breeding instead of the competitive. My internet just can't keep up, and my new job just doesn't allow enough time to competitively BLUP. So, my NIB's are getting the attention they deserve! I am hoping to be a lot more active in the coming months, so if anyone needs help, feel free to give a shout!

Anyway, it's hard to say what difference it will make for us because in preprod, not enough players are actively working low-skilled horses to really let you see how it's going to go.

If you're already using rookie comps, it doesn't seem like much will change at the bottom end of the skill range - assuming that I'm interpreting the message correctly, the horses I've been losing to would still have been allowed to enter. But I suppose we will find out. It would be nice if it does end up helping, as the last batch of changes made things even harder.

You guys are impossible default smiley ^) I would never sell off my stock even if I did end up retiring. I also do "updated Foundies" with the breeds I originally started with. I just have no motivation to do much without the ranks being updated anymore too :/ I feel so neglected in this game, sometimes default smiley (lol).

So I blupped my first foundie since the comp changes. I was able to get my 20 wins before the age of 8. Yay! the only problem I had was getting stomped on but thankfully I was still able to get my needed wins. You do get kicked out of all the other rookie comps but I would rather get kicked out and get the wins than not win at all. Hopefully, this new comp change will make it easier on us NIBer's.

Gratz kooldogz7 - that is amazing! I need to test it one a few of mine.

I'm rather discouraged, and honestly disgusted about all the changes so not very active at all as of late. But IF I can get wins on my old GP*s and lower ends, there might be hope for me to returning to a more active state again.

I've been getting some good wins on a lower GP horse I'm working on. I'm still not to clear as there are still "rookie" marked competitions and "non-rookie" marked competitions in this new system, but still for horses that have less than 20 wins. Wondering if the "non-rookie" ones are for higher skilled horses? I don't know.

Going to attempt to start doing these Holsteiners (4457+) in the Insect World challenge. Let me know if anyone would like to join me on this endeavor! default smiley :)

So far so good. I've been able to totally blup 3 foundies since the comps were changed. Been able to get my 20 wins around age 6. These foundies are some of the new ones that have 2000 to 3000 gp though. Has anyone had an easier time getting wins with the original foundies?

I've been trying a few things with my original Holsties. They have been rather successful in dressage comps lately, since the previous comp change. This new change I haven't had much time to play around with, but it has been much easier to get wins with 3 fillers. I will keep messing around, especially this coming week as I am working 3-11 and the hubby won't be home to antagonize me default smiley :p I have definitely found it much easier to get wins though. I am pulling in one win for every five entered at least with just my one filler on a good day. Every win is one step closer! My higher GP foundies I haven't had any issues with ever, so I can't really say if it is easier.

I'm having issues in dressage with a fresh G1 Peruvian. I even loaded her up... I got one win out of masses entered. I just get crushed by everything. Peruvians were historically awesome in dressage, too... anyone remember my boy Santeri, the avenger of crushed foundies? He can't get a win any more either.

My original unicorns do no better. It's very disappointing. Basically, they fixed nothing from where I'm sitting.

Guess my Frenchies will be getting more exercise...

Haha yeah I did Marwaris. I've been off the game for years and I'm just back for a short while so I don't want to start up another project (especially with the way things have been going with comps etc). So just doing some Unicorn breeding and trying to get my ec comps up to rosette level.

I breed the OG Holsties, and I have a small stash of RG, but they are older RG, with 3000-3200 GP. Debating on if I want to try for the new ones, but I think I have enough projects going as it is default smiley xd
