The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

In my opinion, I don't see a problem. As long as you don't use a fertility wand and then breed the siblings. The pastry divines are individual horses from Ouranos and Gaia.

I don't have them myself but I checked out an example of someone who has bred a couple pastries and this is how the tree looks:

Yeah, that should be fine, as long as you're careful not to use foals from the same Divine pair more than once (they all have unique ID numbers so it's easy to tell). The foals are still purebreds so they can be ranked. This came up years ago when Qilin came along, and it's never been a problem.

Frenchies are doing great for me, struggling with getting my Holsteiner wins though! So trying a few different training combos, etc to see what will work.

Hi! I’m trying to breed NiB, I’m new and have three sets of foundation pairs. My problem is most of my mates threw fillies. Should I donate and get more stones to make foundation shetlands, or is there other NiB breeders of them who might trade me second generation goals? I need at least two colts.

I would suggest trying to save up and buy more foundations. The more foundations you have, the more generations you can get. Start with at least one more pair that way you can get to one more generation than you currently are at. At only 7 days seniority you have a really good start!!! Welcome default smiley :)

Just bred my first 4th gen Shagya from old GP stock. It's a bittersweet experience, since my plan was to fully BLUP the NIB's.
But that's so not happening with the comp and GP changes.

How ever the baby's still a NIB, and special default smiley (l) ... so there... here's me moving along working more low end pixles

Hello to all! Are there still people here who actively work with the OG 350 foundies and their offspring? I haven't been around in a long time and, as I understand, there have been some changes that aren't very NIB-friendly. But is it so much of an uphill battle that people no longer bother? Or is there still some small community here?

I only work with OG 350-351.2 GP Hanoverians. We have several breeders that still focus on the OG lines. The pass changes have made getting foundations even more difficult and far more expensive and the game has gone completely non OG GP friendly for sure. It's aggravating when some of us have literally put YEARS of work into it.

I'm still working with OG's. Eight generations in, it's a bit late to turn back.

The new changes make getting wins harder than ever, but I'm plugging along...cramming on as many bonuses as possible (I dropped 5 million equus on Posiedon's Packs during that special offer last week, yikes). Still, it can take weeks or even months to get 20 wins on a foundie.

The good(ish) news is that I work slow - like, really really slow - and I always keep a few foundies in the 'training barn' at all times. So I have a backlog of BLUPed ones I haven't even used yet.

At least the foals have higher GPs now, so getting their wins is a bit easier.

Hi, this is just to let you all know I'm still NIBing Paints. NIBing is a slow process but is starting to pick up some speed for me. (So don't get discouraged if you are new.)

I currently have 10 first generation Paint NIBs.

1st Generation GP is from 418.44 to 444.44 in ten horses (That's an average of 428.496)

It's a wide range but I can go back and see it's because of a few factors. The 418's sire was rescued late in it's life and was already losing skills when I bred it. And the 444 parents were fully blupped before I acquired them. (Meaning they both had 20 wins.)



I agree, Misabel it can take quite awhile to get horses blupped and ready to breed!

I’m trying to find NiB shetland breeders. I’m also searching for more foundation stock. I got one foundation mare to BLUP. Everyone else is not really cooperating with me. I need to learn how to earn money so I can deck them out with all the bonuses.

If anyone else does shetlands, could you please send a message? I’d love some tips.

I’m actually pretty proud I have ten pairs of foundations now. Playing from mobile mostly is a little hard. I have to keep redoing the search to check and see what the lineage is when looking for foundation ponies, it doesn’t stay when I hit the back button.

The whole time I've played this game, the only breed I've ever truly loved is the Thoroughbreds. I am trying to collect one 350 foundation of each coat color. I only have the cremello and liverflaxen chestnut. If anyone is selling, please give me a shout

I grabbed one of them, so now I finally have a pair of morgs. Has taken me years to do. So hard to find.
Now I plan to slowly try and BLUP them over gods knows how many weeks or more.
I had some stuff saved so they'll be overloaded with all the shiny stuff I can toss their way, Love that breed!!

Luckily I've been able to grab a couple. I did message both players that were selling some if they were willing to do equus, but neither one has gotten back to me. I'm gonna keep an eye on the one player's stock that had multiples.
