The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Kinda putting it on a shelf to collect dust at the moment. Going to have a major career change that could end up with me being on Howrse a few times a week instead of everyday like I have been.

I'll try not to be. Lol. It'll hopefully get me out of the hole I'm in, but I know it ain't gonna be easy since the industry is male dominated and I'll likely be fighting for drive miles once a year is up.

Anyone have any Arabian or Thoroughbred NIB studs for sale (1st or 2nd Gen)?

@suebee104 you might want to get in contact with either:

Arabians:
- Driananium (going slow)
- dark_angel2788
- stryker777337
- Sylevar Falcori

Thoroughbred:
- Misabel

Bear in mind though, I'm not sure if they do sell their NIB's. But it's worth a try.

Does anyone actually still work with the original gp foundies? I discovered that I have a few of them and I've been contemplating the idea of potentially selling them. I'm not exactly sure that I will though but I'm curious. I think I also have some of the new gp ones but I believe that those are all drafts.I'd probably be more willing to sell those if I do decide to sell however.

Who breeds Quarter Horses and Connemara Ponies?
Hello everyone -

I've been a long time player, 5+ years... but I'm pretty sure my old account was deleted due to inactivity.

Well, I've been wanting to try breeding NIB Brumbies... any pointers? I'm not sure what to look for in sales, I've never really dabbled in NIB breeding.

Any help is greatly appreciated! default smiley (l)

@MACRONIE, yup I do and a few other players in here too I think.

@suebee104, if your not looking for foundations I have some arabs or TBs that are 2nd gen that I'd be willing to sell.

@wildeflowurs, best bet is to get foundations, horses with ouranus and gaia as parents. As alot of players don't count horses as NIB if they have disappeared horses in their lineage so breeding from your own stock is the most effective way to avoid this.

I do. Asfridur, October Lilac, scaleys, and Storms Ransome are other players I can remember that do.

Are there still OG horses from when the game began in, what 2007 - 2008?

There's nothing in sales and I'm looking for at least a covering for my Paint NIBs. I have some paint horses 2010 but I think it would be cool to NIB starting all the way back to the original horses. (or as close as possible - lol!)

Anyone have tips on how to connect with other players that have Paints that go back that far?

I'm also looking for the very first Rolling Gain Paints that were brought out in 2016. I have one that is 2211 but I'm not sure if there were any lower GP for the new rolling gain horses.

I started in 08. I don't know if any of those foundies would count for what you're looking for.

I only work with the original 350-351.2 GP foundies. I breed Hanoverians. I haven't been super active lately though, not exactly by choice lol. I pop in to say hi though and see what's going on.

I am thrilled!!! I got an OG Paint from 2008 in direct sales! Success Woohoo! Now if only I can get 2007 and 2009! I want to try and NIB Paints from the year 2007 to the present.

It's like pulling teeth to get any OG from before 2010. It's interesting though - it had a pet with it. Did pets come with all the horses in those early years?

@⊹⊱ℬℓööღεʀʂ⊰⊹ congratz nice find.

No you had to pay passes for them. Back then the most costly ones were the griffin, dragon and ghosts.
(There are 4 versions of the dragon and 3 of the ghosts. Was random what kind you got when you bought one in the BM).
I've plain forgotten if the phoenix was among the expensive ones.

Anyone remember how much the expensive ones went for. Was it 2 passes?
....think it might have been default smiley (lol)

Later howrse released the ladybug and bee in a promo. You could only get them in the promo. Was not possible to buy them with passes like you could with the other companions.
I opted out on those after trying a few times to get one of each. I've forgotten if it was a HOP promo.

The bee and the ladybug are very rare and sell for a crazy amount of passes now.

If a NIB Unicorn was born from Foundation Unicorn parents but the horn was removed from the NIB foal, will the foal be considered okay to use by the NIB community for breeding NIB RIDING HORSES?

I only ask because Howrse no longer allows unicorns and riding horses to interbreed. default smiley (o)

I don't see why not. Unis throw regular horses all the time, so it would make logical sense to use the foals given to do any project you have your mind set on.

I was super lucky to get a TB foundie for 500e in directs last week. I think someone was just selling off horses as there was a GA and some others too for 500e.

They do still get updated, however, the horses in your first post are all foundies, which are not eligible for the rankings. To be ranked, a horse must be bred by a player, not created by the game - so, at least 1st generation NIB. Otherwise, with the new GP system, folks would just be able to keep buying and submitting new foundies, and never have to BLUP a thing! default smiley ;)

The horses in your second post were submitted to a mod, who will update the list when time permits.

What is a realistic GP number I can expect to get after 6 generations of OG NIBs? 500? 600? (This is keeping in mind that I fully blup or blup as close as I can to 100 before breeding.)

My goal is to breed as high as I can before blending OG with RG. I was truly fortunate to get a 981 RG and have several staggered RG to get me up to speed with current RG numbers.

Can you believe the RG is now in the 4K?! default smiley :o
That's all in 2 1/2 years time!!!
