It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I paid 7k for a Morgan foal last night. Their prices are going up as well, but no where near Arabians (thank heaven for that or I wouldn't be able to cope with everything).

Tamriel's finished her current SJ comps with 3 wins, not bad, but I was hoping for a few more. Off to try and game some foals since the weather on here isn't bad at the moment, and that also depends on if I can find a decent EC to do so. Gonna try and age a few pass horses while keeping an eye on a Morgan foal in auction. Oh this should be fun.

Make a post in the EC forum default smiley (y) That's what I did.

Good luck on those wins default smiley ;)

I have taken up several collections to help fund my arabians default smiley xd but I don't go for foals in the auction as Sionn always beats me to them default smiley xd My foals were purchased as Gaia foals

I've had a bad day today, only 2 wins so far. Lets hope the rest of the comps will be more success. Oh well, something bad something good. My foundie barb stally got his 20th win yesterday evening and he is only 7 years 2 months. Still lots of riding to do but I was kinda surprised to get those wins so easily since I just entered him to comps to get skills. Wish it was that easy to all my horses to get the wins but my mares siims to be those who just don't like winning default smiley (li)

Forest Queen - I just clicked on the link and it worked....hmmmm..gremlins?

Rowen - So funny about the arab trot-woes...I BLUP-ped my foundie Newf mare almost entirely on trots, I think.....and it's usually my first stop with everything else. default smiley *-) I have to admit to compulsively (obsessively?) checking back in many times a day when I've got a BLUP-fest going on......

I'm glad the foundie-frenzy hasn't hit the Newfs yet....perhaps I should start hoarding just in case...default smiley ;)

Pardon the potentially-eejity question....but what does the game weather have to do with foal gaming? default smiley (o)
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 18:50:26
Me again....

Will someone please come to the auction and beat me with a stick until I leave....

I just bid on a foundie mare....*sigh*

It's a sickness...really....default smiley ;)

l think Paints make it impossible for everyone else to win in trotting races-- you can train through the roof in dressage and speed with them and then enter really low trotting races. That tends to be how I get my wins-- but even 20 stars can enter 20% trotting races sometimes and that's... totally unfair. I try to keep my wins to the minimal 20, but not everyone does and it's definitely a hiccup in the programming. default smiley :p

And thanks, Forest Queen. I'll just have to highlight my calendar or something to try posting him again! default smiley :)
Can anyone tell me , if an ancestor changes gender does that affect the NIB statis? Maybe it would make a difference if before or after any offspring?

Foundy arabians are terrible at trot because it is where the least amount of skills are for them.

Wild it will work for you because it takes you to your horses default smiley ;). We can't see her like that because we don't own herdefault smiley :p

PonyLover that doesn't affect it IMO but I have heard a few players state they don't want bolted horses

No problem Jeteska default smiley (y)

*hits wild with a stick* I have stayed away from auctions for a week! I'm so proud default smiley :-))

*clings to post in auction hall as FQ bludgeons mercilessly*

default smiley (lol) on the link!! Okay...if anyone wants to see...her name is Four Ponds and she's in Fingal's Cave....default smiley ;)

I am stepping away from the computer and AM NOT setting the timer on the microwave so I know when the auction is getting close to ending....truly, I"ve done that...default smiley :o

First step to recovery...

default smiley ;)

Yay for you FQ.....auction-free for a week...you ought to be proud...default smiley (y)
Sorry to keep asking so many questions but is it a good or bad idea to make foundations immortal?

Wild North: default smiley (lol) I try to avoid them as I either spend more than I can afford, or I end up getting downhearted when I get outbid ^_^
PonyLover: I don't know... For me, it doesn't make much difference I don't think - depends how fast you can get the blupped and bolded I suppose
IMO=in my opinion default smiley ;)

Wild, for future ref just go to My profile, hit the tab the horse is in, go to the horses page (like you would view other players horses) and copy that link default smiley ;)

I am super proud for staying away for a week.....looks to auction tab.....default smiley xd oh my....

It is good and bad. Bad because you can't really get back passes spent on IM for the horse but good in the fact that it can still be around for you to foal out another foal or you can get the wins/bolding/training needed to finish BLUPing them. I just immortalized Sahara for vag111, couldn't get any wins while he was over here but tried REALLY hard default smiley xd

Hmmmmm microwave timer...never thought of that default smiley *-)....I'm usually at work when they end so it doesn't matter. I tend to bet BIG then walk away in hopes of getting it later default smiley :p....I bid on GA horses though soooooo default smiley :$

OK, one more default smiley :( the howrse I thought of making immortal are already 11 BLUP. So, I thought to put it on to have them around or if *shudders in fear* I ever leave the game I can pass them on.

Yay! Just bought another two Morgans =) Had to pay a bit more for them than I hoped, but ah well. Finally have my first 16. Going to blup them and maybe then think about more lol
11 BLUP? I don't keep track of what BLUP horses are until they are 100 so I don't know how much training/wins/age that horse has default smiley :-x Do you have a link or the name of the horse and I will see what they look like default smiley (y). Mostly immortalizing is the players choice whether it is for sentimental reasons or to make a profit. (profit is obviously out with foundations default smiley xd)

I immortalized my first horse...just because I'm hopelessly nostalgic like that. My greenstars are because they're funding my other projects and after all the passes I put into them they need to earn their keep default smiley ;).

...as for the rest of my NIBs....I"ve decided to take it horse by horse but at this point I am inclined to 'stone the foundies.....*shrug*

Oh, and apparently feigning utter detachment works because I got that mare I bid on....*capers around room*. Yeah, I use the timer because I've got a memory like a sieve and between the kids and the dogs and the cats and...well...time slips away, doesn't it?

I wasn't going to check, really I wasn't.....but there was a pause between my vacuuming and mopping that just needed to be filled.

must.finish.housework.

default smiley :-))
A random pause huh default smiley ;)

100 BLUP is good. How old is it? How often do you use her/her? All go into my mind when I use expensive items on them. lol

Tikki got a nyx pack placed on him because he is my pet project, Mythological Youth (Sionn owns him now) is immortalized because he was MY foundation uni (black and arabian, how I like em default smiley ;)), Chief of the Forest (my first paint stud) was immortalized but has been sold....may try to get him back at some point default smiley *-) who knows. I don't immortalize often unless I really, really like a horse. Otherwise (esp. if I can't get 100 BLUP) I breed as close to 25yrs as I can get (after all comps have been worked as much as possible) and pass the horse out *shrugs* one less horsie for the disappeared lines IMO

I make immortal the ones I am sentimentally attached to, as well - my own foundie who I used to breed my first NIB foal and first foal I ever bred (yep, I was NIB right from the start, default smiley (lol)) is immortal. I also like horses that are rare to be immortal, so 351.20 GP studs (although I haven't gotten around to doing this with my newfies yet) etc. Luckily, my new uni was already immortal. She's staying with me for good - I like rare foundations!
