It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Perhaps Riven just missed him. Lots of horses and posts are made on Sundays so it is likely default smiley (y). Lovely boy you have

blue I don't see why that wouldn't be allowed default smiley (y). I personally know someone who lets me board at her 23 EC but I don't know if that is just for me or what default smiley :$ The last time I did that I sped trained and since my boy was in the top 10 pop ranks I think it ended up not doing any damage default smiley (lol)

Wow..looking at all these players that havent been on since 2008 makes me want to pay tribute to all our fallen comrades...I wonder why they arent getting taken off yet..I wish they would..the howrses they leave behind makes be drool..lol
No kidding....but so many of them have bought passes (like me...46 karma...I have bought over 200 passes) so they won't be deleted....not to mention some of those players have extremely rare GA coats that will just be wasted....wish they all went into auctions at 500e each when a player is deleted....Oh well default smiley :$

I was told that isnt necessarily true..buying passes doesnt stop you from getting booted..at least some of the people that started with V2 get booted..but the original people all seem to be sticking around..I wish we could have a estate sale with them..lol
hmmm.....I believe it had to be over 3 karma.....and a certain number of months inactivity would require them to be booted at xx amount of days default smiley :-x don't really remember anymore...default smiley (lol)

Its 90 days that you are not on the game you get booted off. I have seen a few Arabian breeders that have not been on for about a year or so and was surprise to find they got back on the game. The 90 day thing is not automatic. I hear Howrse has to run a script for it or something.

yep and the ones that are from V1 seem to skip over that script which lets them be still very much on the game...one player came back after a year and she was surprised she could get back on..
And that would also explain why I can't get back on Equideow (on either one, isn't there two... things over there, one for ouranos and the other for gaia). I didn't realise that there was a script that boots you off. I only realised once I'd been on Caballow over 100 days that I hadn't been on my Equideow account, and poof! couldn't get on.

I probably should be getting to bed. Tamriel's still only got one win, but she still has about half a dozen comps to run though.

I do Arabian NiB myself (or starting anyway).

Mostly picked up some from the sales. Had too many boys though, so I bolted one that hadn't any coverings.

Here is my page:
http://www.howrse.com/joueur/fiche/?id=26751663

Just check under 'Atlantean NiBs'.

I don't think I can be as ambitious as some of you. *chuckles* I will probably keep my herd small and just offer the babies for sale (and I know I am not going anywhere to confirm lineage).

I do have a general question though, but regarding my Foundy. She is over 40 and I didn't know what I was doing with her, so I never did get her blupped properly. Is there any chance (even very slim) of me getting her the wins she is missing? Or is it not possible?
It is always possible though if her training is partially or even fully done it will be extremely difficult without fillers and bonuses. PM me a link and I might be able to help you with her default smiley (y). I do training here and there and tend to get quite lucky in comps with foundies default smiley ;)

Since I can't afford them...thought I'd pass on the foundation arab I found in the auctions. -pokes stuff- I need more equus! XD

Male 5 hours and 15K Equus so far, he's a pegesus and has a GA coat.
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 11:19:38
Lots of lovely good news abounds!! Congrats all on your wins etc.

Just going to add my own....*beams*

My foundie mare (my first ever default smiley (l)) just foaled a pair of lovely fillies (twinned for the pegasus-twin-achievement-thing)....by a gorgeous foundie stallion...*drum roll*....

GP 355.97!!

Here's one of them...*passes around baby photos* (first time posting a link, hope it works)

I'm rather delighted.....default smiley :-))

So now I"m wondering....sell off one or keep her? *sigh* If I bolted one, I'd have a colt so then......*brain spinning*. I'm all for spreading the NIB-love but will I regret it later? Then again, I've got all these other 1G's lying around....

Thankfully my assortment of overachieving greenstars fund my NIB venture....default smiley ;)

Ugh. Too early in the morning for this....default smiley ;)...must. have. coffee.

Happy day, all.

I'm so upset.. I have some NIB horses that have missing ancestors, but I just found out that one of my future breeding stallion prospect's (Echo) mother is missing. Though he has relatively low GP (only 352,44), I planned to breed him to some of my mares, just to have a fresh line. Now that's not gonna happen. default smiley :(
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 11:56:23
Sunny83 -- oh dear....so sorry to hear that. Now that I've been reading about all these disappearing horses I'm all in a tizz over some of the horses I recently bought....even though they're 1G, I worry that there errant breeders will leave the game and I'll be left with big empty spaces in pedigrees....default smiley :(

Definitely something to suggest in the ideas forum...I liked the idea of just *greying* out the horses of deleted players....

So sorry for the disappointment......default smiley :'(
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 12:30:50
Hi, Yes the same thing happened to me...I lost about 15 1st and 2nd gen foals like that.
I am now going to use only my stock and keep all the horses I use. I also think the greying idea would be nice.
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 12:36:39
Oooh, I know I shouldn't post this here but -pokes my EC forum- If you want a foundation foal...go read, yes.

-paces- I'm trying to get this NIB horse I'm stalking on the auctions before I go sleep for the night. One more hour. -dies-
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 13:06:48
Wild North: thank's and also congratulations on your new foals, they are really nice default smiley :) Unfortunately I used quite a few outside horses in my breeding program, some are from other NIB breeders, so I hope I'm safe there. I have three stallions (there were 4, a set of twins-sold one months ago, a full brother to them and another stallion) who were sired by the same horse. A few months ago I discovered that the sire's dam is missing, how great... Now I'm trying to get as many foundations as I can, but Arabians have a really high demand default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 13:15:42
I'm going to pm you...Sunny83....default smiley :-))
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 13:19:55
Yes! I got the foundation mare -happy dances- Now...I can't touch any of my horses until I make more equus because I've spent almost all I had left on her.
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 13:24:48
Congrats, SoulReaper.....default smiley :-))
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 13:28:02
Thank you, Wild North. I'm kinda scared of what the foal would turn out like...but at the moment, I don't care. I can sell it cheap in auctions.

Ok, note to self....only touch foals cuz they don't cost you anything right now.
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 14:08:53
That only works on certain breeds SoulReaper. I'm about to drop 12,000 on an ungamed foal in the auctions default smiley :o

Congrats on getting your foundy default smiley (y)
All the horses have been trained, competed and put to bed. Now I get to sit on pins and needles all day hoping that I get a few more wins.

Why is it so hard to get trot wins? I have heard from lots of people that it's nearly impossible but I don't get why.

SoulReaper congrats on your auction win. Winning anything at auctions is very hard.

Rowen foundation arabians HATE trotting default smiley :p. They have like no skills there default smiley (lol).

Wild North the link doesn't work, go to your profile and search for the horsies like other players would view them default smiley ;)

SoulReaper you should have PM'd me about that peggie you sold. It was a retired coat default smiley :$

Alassie 12k is nothing compared to what I have spent on some foundies default smiley xd

GA horses expect to pay AT LEAST 12k default smiley (lol). As no matter the coat a collector or two will be after it default smiley xd

k, nothing really on my end for foundies so I'm off to the retired coat forum now default smiley :p
