It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Aw shucks...thanks...default smiley :) I'm a proud grannie....default smiley (k)

Now, I kindly request you flog me toward my mop and bucket...
My foundie unis are 351.2, 100 BLUP, all bold, in their teens. I have some some PS that I won so it looks like a win win to put them on. Thanks everybody.

Wild North: In winter, because the temperature drops, there's often a message saying that the risk of getting flu is high. This is why I don't usually game in winter, and also because the foal has to be put to the meadow at night, morale drops in the morning. I'm doubting gaming them now as I've only just remembered that last thing happened.

I got the foal!! For 1003 equus! I was so terrified I was going to lose him, he's another male and another cherry bay but oh well.... My internet was taking ages to refresh the page and I honestly thought I was going to lose him but I got back on and the auction was like 4 seconds to go and I got him!

I am very tempted to immortalise all of my foundations, but the problem I've found with immortal horses is sometimes if you sell them on, people put them in the haven because they can't age them for a pass and so on, or they can't sell them for what they're worth.

At the moment, I'm not immortalising. The only Morgan foundie I have immortalised is one that I bought with a Nyx pack already on her, 100BLUP and so on. Just trying to find a good EC to see if I can really boost her skills to about 400. I bought her when she had about 360 so that's quite er... not as good as I expected. Although I plan on doing a pet project similar to what FQ did with Tikki so I will also be immortalising that foundie if I can get into an EC with a .1 gain. Although with the current discussion going on over in the game play forum, I doubt I'll be able to get into a .1 EC, so that means boosting my own EC so I need to get a few more high skilled IH, or at least breed them or something.

Off to put more washing out now...

GPs are updated default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 11th January 2010 22:15:26
riverdoe -- aaahhh, I see -- I'm a vaccinater/dewormer so I never think of these things. For what it's worth, I've been putting my foals out overnight despite the weather and they've been fine as far as morale goes -- it never drops so far that it doesn't come right back up over the course of the day with usual gaming etc.

yippeee for getting the foal you were after!! Oh, those awful moments in the last seconds of an auction --- I swore last time it came to a bidding war I'd never do it again...too stressful! default smiley (lol)

The whole EC thing is a bit of a pain...trying to get a halfway decent one that doesn't charge 25e a night for crummy meadows and no pets...urgh. The prestige thing makes my brain hurt so I'm happy to settle for one that has good quality care and facilities and sacrifice the lesson/skill gain....default smiley *-) I've been slowly trying to boost my own a bit..I invested in two IH's and will move them in as soon as I've BLUP-ped and skilled them within an inch of their lives...default smiley ;)

Ooops...boy-child kicking me off the computer...

Lil' Pix
I got her pretty cheap. It was obvious why. Poor girl was in terrible shape, but I've nearly got her all better! She's a foundation. I hope to get her to a nice stats/BLUP and find someone with a male foundation to breed with before she's 25. I plan on using all my PoC's on her from now on. So does any of you breed Chincoteague Ponies?

I fixed my post in my EC forum so you can see the horses and ponies I can get you, I'm willing to haggle all but the 2 pass per foal price with you. (Passes go right for purchasing the foal.)
default smiley :'(A horse on my line of unis has disappeared. My horses are no longer the highest GP friesians. I actually got a little teary eyed. default smiley :( They were such good horses. I even had a mare with higher GP than that. Makes me want to sell all my Friesians off.

I have a few. The trotting comps show up at 0% and at 1% then it will show up regularly after that. There are also jumping races for chincos but you have to get the jumping to at least 9% and can't remember the minimum for cross country but she did not have luck with it but mine won most in galloping.

I was digging around in private sales and found this guy!
http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=7838573

and then I got her off auctions after stalking...retired coat on top of being foundation.
http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=4936984

I'm having luck with finding foundations. Are any of you looking for anything? Oh... Um, I'm not sure if I'll do brumbies, so I may sell/trade him. Don't know what they're worth really but he's not old enough for games yet, so he's un-gamed.
By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 10:17:42
Ooh Forest, you mustn't be on at the mo - I just got a 6 month old arab foundie for 5000e in the auctions default smiley :-))
By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 11:33:31
Congratulations on your purchase, gaff default smiley :) I also had my eye on that foal but had to go away from the computer and forgot all about it. default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 11:54:58

By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 12:42:27
bluetempest.....default smiley :'(.....that's awful, very sorry to hear it....

off to look at the new purchases...
By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 12:50:04
FQ---Oooooh!! Lovely! It's a bit like a treasure hunt, isn't it? So then, what are your plans with one that's as *old* as that? Do you carry on BLUP-ping or....forgive my questions, enquiring minds and all that! default smiley :$

SoulReaper -- very lovely Hano there....like that coat a lot! Charming affix too, I might add....default smiley *-) I've got one like that.."forest of death"...delightful,but then...hey...whaddya gonna do? default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 14:04:39
SoulReaper, I do Chincos! Chincos are one of my favorite breeds; I'll be happy to take him off your hands for ya! default smiley ;)

Not to advertise or anything, but I have a few foundies up in private sales. *whistles innocently*

default smiley ;)
I'm very sorry to hear that bluetempest

I overslept and managed to lose two female foundation morgans in the auctions. So annoyed with myself.

SecretAgent: I PM'ed you about your Morgans.

Yay! I just found out I got a nice ungamed foundation filly for the low prize of 2003e in the auctions yesterday! Very surprised since I couldn't keep and eye on her all the way to the end default smiley :d

Funny enough I got a complaining e-mail from the seller saying the foal was reserved for someone. Honestly. If you put it in the public auctions everyone can bid, right? I know I wasn't the onlyone bidding on herdefault smiley (o)
By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 17:17:56
kaktus: theres always some people who put horses on auctions and try to tell that it's reserved. Actually they could loose karma for that since it's not allowed to say that the horse is reserved for someone in auctions.

I have managed to keep my hands away from all sales for few days now default smiley :d I really have to save some money even tough it's sooo much fun to surf around sales default smiley :(
Blinkyli: I know that feeling. I also need to save up. Down to 3k now... Staying away from the sales is hard, especially when I see a 500e horse or foal in there. At the moment, I'm trying to stay away but it is very, very hard.

Blinkyli: That's actually what I replied to the seller. I havn't heard from him/her since then, and I hope that it will it.

riverdoe: And I'm also kind a low on funds for a while now. I still have plenty of blupping and bolding to do with the howrses I have. I just love to stalk around the sales looking for the few special gems hiding among the greenstarred rocksdefault smiley (lol)
By Retired breeder, 12th January 2010 19:13:38
Perhaps we need a support group.....Auctions Anonymous? default smiley (lol)

I am absolutely NOT going to so much as drive past the auctions until I see how the blupping goes with the older ones I bought....truly, I"m not...despite the fact that I'd really love another foundie stallion.....

kaktusblomst -- it's true, skulking around, finding that overlooked treasure....brilliant!

Sorry about the Morgans, riverdoe.....default smiley :(
haha we need AA meetings default smiley :p

good job gaff, I haven't been after foundation arabians in about a week so haven't spread out any bids in there default smiley (lol).

Wild-I bought it for a NIBer so it wouldn't get stuck with a GA collector never to be used. Usually, though, old horses with little training (if their GP is decent) I will immortalize them so that they can stay in my herd but ONLY if their GP is 350.9 or higher usually. Otherwise I place a GA on them and keep them as a collectible default smiley (lol)

"Reserved" Auctions- I almost ALWAYS bid on them....even if they aren't my breed, don't have a GA or don't have skills....default smiley *-)but I am mean like that default smiley :p......trust me I have had more than one aggravating PM back but "eh" I just can't bring myself to walk away from "reserved" auctions
