The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Rowen,

Excellent point....I agree....come to think of it I'd rejected a few from the sale for just that reason -- too much training in the *wrong* areas.

default smiley (lol)'May the howrse be with you' default smiley (lol)

WN
YES!!! I finished competition wins on an Arabian foundation mare. Now I just have to wait to see if the others do as well.

I'm starting to get excited hehe.

Rowen,

CONGRATULATIONS!!!

Oh, how I know that feeling of finishing the comp wins...by far the most nerve-wracking part of everything!! Here's hoping you can carry the momentum forward with your others!

cheers,

Wild North....who really needs to go and do some laundry....default smiley ;)
Me unfortunately. If I don't do it soon the laundry will walk itself in to the washer. default smiley (lol)

Lol, I've just managed to pick up more NIB Marwari's for 500e.

And I have to put the laundry out. Man I wish we had a dryer. Oh well, hopefully by the time I come back I'll have a couple of boxes to game some foals...

Does anyone have boxes with fallabellas available?

Right now it's 2 degrees here if I put my laundry out it would turn into a laundrysicle. Oh well I'll do some laundry and dishes and make some banana chips while I wait for my competitions to run.

I'm just completely beside myself about that 2nd gen of Tikkis default smiley :p

I personally would try to see what kind of foals you get from low GP 2nd (1st) gens you have. I believe I bred a 352 and a 353 to get Sleepless Dawn who has a GP of 359 and that was when his dam refused to complete 20 wins (though she was fully bolded and had at least half of the wins)

It seems to be sporadic when it comes to GP. Tikki produced a 357 out of a 350.48 mare and a 356 by a 351.2 mare default smiley *-)

I would be happy to do someones laundry if someone comes here to take care of my pony. Its -20 celsius outside and I really don't want to go there default smiley :@

For the topic then...I had my first born barb filly few days ago and now I can't wait to play with her and get her on the list with highest GP for the moment default smiley :) These are the moment I really like while nibbing, little success just gets me so exited default smiley (lol)

Yay, I now have a Foundation mustang uni, 351.20 GP and well over 400 skills! I doubt it'll be worth trying to do NIB unis, though.
No, it never really is default smiley (lol). Legacy and I did the first 3 (foundie, 2nd and 3rd) gen unis as NIB and then continued on our lines as IB, releasing a NIB here and there to those who were interested in a collectable NIB uni *shrugs*. Always nice to get a NIB foal out of those foundie unis though default smiley (lol)

I just got a 356.24 GP after games foal from two 100 BLUP foundies. But the sire had 350.23 GP and the dam had 350.09 GP! I only got 356.81 GP after games from two 351.20 100 BLUP foundies. This is strange. default smiley (o)

Forest Queen,

I will let you know how it turns out I have quite a few first or second gens in training and I will be breeding them soon so we will see how they do. I know I had some foundations that didn't make all their wins but still produced foals close to 357 for an ending gp. I think it has to be totally random that's the only explanation.

I named the baby Silvery Mistikki and he already has his CT and is waiting for spring to get here. I just need to buy up my passes so that I can load him up before he starts showing.

Blinkyli,,

I already went out and did my pony and the laundry dishes and dehydrator are going. Hehe. Just call me Suzy Joe Farmer default smiley (lol)

Congrats on your new baby!! I am right there with you I have 5 Babies sitting in my training barn waiting for to start. The only saving grace is that it gives me time to load them up so they do better in the shows.

Good Luck I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!!

Yeah, that's what I thought, FQ - there's simple too few foundies for most unis, the only exception really is friesians where you could conceivably get to higher gens with a lot of time and effort.

I'm looking for another foundation mustang uni, though, as like you say it'd be nice to have a breeding pair and produce a few NIB uni foals here and there... And I could produce some nice 1st gen. non-horned mustangs if all I get is uni rejects!
By Retired breeder, 10th January 2010 17:24:14
Ooops, also forgot to mention:

FQ, your new baby is amazing! I bet you're thrilled to see Mr. Tech father a foal with such a great GP. default smiley :d
By Retired breeder, 10th January 2010 18:53:49
Does not inbred pretty much mean purebred all the way back?
No not inbred means that if you look at the horses lines each horse only shows up in the lines once. So there can be no repeats.

Rowen,
Thanks for the answer, Page 70. Most of my mustangs parentage is owned by long time players so I may dabble a little there. I'm just now wavering on the NIB so appreciate the help.
I've seen several post about discounts for breeding to NIB breeders. I have a herd of foundation Freisian uni's. All are fully bolded and 351.2 GP. Am I stepping on toes by offering 200 for breedings? I have a bunch of non horned babies.
Thanks for the help

I don't think that's "stepping on toes" - most NIB breeders are pretty friendly and helpful anyway in my experience and a lot are willing to give out cheap coverings from their stallions. It's up to you how much you charge for coverings. default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 10th January 2010 19:35:51
This may be a silly question, but how do you guys find good ecs for your horses in training. it's a nightmare. i can only get into a 51% prestige, no carrots, no pets, 15e lesson ec. sorry for lack of capital letters but am typing this one handed while eating ice cream lol
By Retired breeder, 10th January 2010 19:47:23
I've had just good luck finding good centers. You can always try to find one and ask for reserved boxes or do it like I do, just see wheres space and book there. The best time to get good centers (with space) listed is propably just after the mornings update. And I broad my horses all just for 10 equus a day, most with pets, lots of carrots and of course always clean and fertile meadows.
By Retired breeder, 10th January 2010 19:48:05
If I don't find a good EC, I just wait for half an hour and check again. Usually I'm lucky and find a good EC with pets and carrots. That's what i do default smiley (lol)
Hello. [:
Are the top GPs currently accurate? Like, do the paints and aussies really have no top NIB GP?

Yes, they should be accurate - GP submissions are every Sunday and the topic is usually updated on Mondays, so what is currently displayed is accurate up to last Sunday.

GP is only displayed if breeders choose to submit it. There probably are NIB Paints and Aussies out there, but nobody has submitted a horse of that breed to be listed here, so there is currently nothing by those breeds.
