It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I've finally managed to get all the pieces of clouds I need. I have everything else except the Nyx pack, it's the only thing I need to use my passes for.

Now to find an EC with .1 gain who will let me in when spring comes around, and I still need to game a couple more foals. In the mean time I'm tempted to maybe breed a couple of my horses as BLUPping my foundations one at a time is not working the way I hoped it would. Oh well.

Question for everyone else: Do you guys just BLUP your Foundies and such as you need them, or do you wait until you can get a couple of generations in and then go back to your Foundies?

I blup my foundations..and make sure i have a couple first..and then i breed those ones first and get the babies and then go back and blup some more..so i can continue the cycle..and once they are all done they I will start on my 1st generations and so on..
I usually am training and blupping all my horses (a combination of foundies, first gens, second gens etc) at once unless of course they are babies and it is winter because i don't game in winter. When they get 20 wins they go into my elite barn and wait for their other half to finish his or her Blupping and then I breed them. This means I am always working some horses but generally I don't do much with them once they reach 100 blup and have bred once for me unless someone else wants to breed with them.

Wow I didn't know this existed. I love you again Howrse! default smiley :d

Anyone interested in breeding NIB marwari? I just bought a bunch of foundation and near-foundation marwari colts and fillies with some decent stats, all NIB. I also have a nice marwari mare with 354.80 skills, NIB. Her name is Axex: http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/arbre?id=7933840

I'm also interested in breeding NIB unicorns... although to do that, I think we would have to find foundation unis. Is there such a thing?

Anyway, SERIOUS BREEDING PARTNERS ONLY. My computer is dead (I borrow my roomie's laptop to play here) but I'm really excited about breeding some NIB marwari, so I'll make the time for this.

Let me know! default smiley (l)

I have too many foals at the moment and they're driving me crazy ^_^ Silly foal games. I can't wait to actually be able to train them and add a little variety to my routine. I've only just started NIB, but I'm following basically the same plan as you Rowen: blupping, breeding in pairs then leaving alone... =)
By Retired breeder, 8th January 2010 22:41:15
Hey rowen, my mare MidnightFly had her baby! If he gets just 20 or so more GP he will beat the highest TB but he's not pure bred oh well lol
I don' t mind the foal games as much as I do the training. The training seems harder for me, not sure why. I usually get through it but sometimes I have to fight the ponies tooth and nail to convince them that they want to win those darn competitions. They don't always do what I tell them to

*coughcough* I just went on a buying spree... so it looks like my pet project may have to wait a while... or at least until I can get some more passes. I could've sworn I had at least 60,000e a few days ago, and now I'm down to less than 5k.

Thanks for answering my question!

Hi Guys,
I seem to have picked up a arab mare that on the sire side is NIB but the dam side is
"Dam : Horse disappeared", the GP is only 349.78 so sounds like the Dam was very likely NIB also. So is my mare NIB maybe? Also does the NIBs need to be pure breed or is cross breeds ok?
Cheers

Morathi, I've seen several 349ish horses that had a huge family tree (it was quite shocking default smiley (lol)), so there's no guarantee she's actually NIB.

Cross breed NIBs are still NIB, there's just not a ranking for them default smiley :).
By Retired breeder, 9th January 2010 14:05:19
Hey everyone,
Well I have picked up some foundation paints to get started on my new program.
I think I am going to get out of NIB Mustangs and just work on the paints.
see ya at the hitchin post

Thanks Darth, I will not breed her then as NIB. That is good as otherwise I would have to much to do with the NIB Barbs and I also picked up a pair of Foundie PSH.
Mdefault smiley ;)

Thankyou riverwood i will default smiley :)
If anyone is interested, I have made some room in my forum for breeders of each breed to post in. I think it'll help players with each breed find others to exchange info and breeding advice/comments. Hope all NIBers will stop by and post. Thanks!

I'm looking for a nib TB Uni. I only have 8k and no passes at the moment but can pay in BM items: 1 WOY, 2 Medusa's Blood, 8 Pandora's Boxesdefault smiley ;) She will be Lark's breeding partner so they must not be related: http://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=8018215
Please contact me so we can arranged something^^
The auctions have become dangerous. There are so many people fighting for NIB stock it's hard to get anything lol.

On the bright side my crew in training has finally decided that they guess they could manage to get a few more wins for me. I might get a few of them to 100 BLUP before the week is officially done.

I have a question, I tried finding it but there a 69 pages to look through ><
What happens if you don't keep records and your second or third generation horse looses a parent(Horse disappeared) Does this render a horse garbage? I can see how it could pose a problem because you can have a elite X amount of stared horse that has both it's parents disappeared but obviously the horse isn't NIB. I'm glad NIBers are finally getting some recognition but until family lines can be tracked in their entirety even if a player deletes their game or there is some kind of indication (like a NIB star) I am not satisfied!
By Retired breeder, 9th January 2010 22:17:36
Rowen - tell me about it! I hate the auctions =/ I seem to always lose ^_^
By Retired breeder, 9th January 2010 22:27:09
I'm new and I think the whole inbreeding thing is kinda gross.
So I'll probably be a NIB breeder.
I wonder if my little colt zeus is a NIB horse.....
By Retired breeder, 9th January 2010 22:30:55
I hear ya Rowen..the auctions have gotten tough along with it bring the prices up on foundation horses.
By Retired breeder, 9th January 2010 22:32:25
gillystar - Zeus isn't NIB - his great-great grandfathers on his father's side are the same horse, and I suspect the grandmothers were too, except they've disappeared. Your foundation mare, Lillian would be a good place to start though. =)
