The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I have some green stars and I do my best to avoid foundations in comps

So if you see one of my horses beating your horse I have either not realiced it is NIB horse, thought that it wont win anyway (like some greenstar already entered against them) or its my own NIB so its fair play default smiley :p

Only exption in my "dont go against foundations with greenstars" rule is when I see newbie placing untrained starterhorse to comps - in that case I dont care... evil me
Yeah I might just resort to that if she keeps being such a problem child hehe

tigrelily has set up room in her forum for players searching for other players, by breed, can post. Should be easier to find players when more people post their breeds.

Has anyone tried to groom and water their foals then just play with them while using a whole bunch of Black Orchids? o.O
I think Pintar meant PSH default smiley (lol)

TinaH, that's just waste of passes for BO's - the gain is fixed at a max on 1.2 GP points so although you could get games over and done with that way it would be needlessly costly as proper games will get you to the same GP. The only time I use BOs in games is when I'm repairing a foal part-way through gaming that has been gamed incorrectly and needs more hours of play.

I'm so excited! Two of my foundy Friesian unicorn stallions are 2 wins away to complete their 20 competitions! I still need to finish up on their training (They are 9yr & 10mos old right now) but who cares! Their competitons are nearly completed, woo-hoo!
They are also loaded with BM items, so I can't say I didn't cheat. In any case, it's nice to have them almost done.

Had to share default smiley :-))default smiley (y)

My foundation Canadian mare, Black Widow, just gave birth to twin fillies! They have 355.05/109.18 and I'm very excited and pleased.
I just had a filly out of two foundation Arab horses with lower skills

The cool thing is her GP at birth is 355.63 with IBS of 73.62!!!

I am so excited by this as of now she is my highest GP horse so far.

Dad had gp of 350.84

Mom had GP of 350.40

So I have to agree with the players that say that it is totally random what you get for GP. I think it might be more of a range and you get something in between the range. I do know that if you breed horses with lower BLUP it does lower the GP so that's just another plug for why you should fully BLUP before breeding.
