Thanks guys! So sorry, AAFKE!default smiley :'(

I got some new ones today, from the US Schleich website, so not Ebay this time. I apologize ahead of time for the large pics! Drum roll please...default smiley ^)

[spoiler]I got the 85th Anniversary special edition lion (i also have the 75th anniversary set of animals)! He's pretty shiny, and his mane is glittering though you can't see it well in the pic.

I also got the new Platypus...ive been wanting one of these... a couple years ago or so they had people send in suggestions for a new user voted animal...it ended up being a the new okapi version i believe...anyway, pretty sure one of the animals i suggested was a platypus. You don't ever see or hear too much about them, and i think they're pretty unique and cool!default smiley :)

I got the new Emporer Penguin, who i find to be a little on the small side. I thought they were larger penguins? Gah, i'm so sorry for the large pic!

I'm not sure exactly what this one is officially called, so i call it the white lion set.

Next up is the Pura Raza Espanola Young Horse! Kind of a weird pic but at least its small.

Gonna try to combine the next ones...i got four new dogs, the new Jack Russell Terrier, the Chihuahua, the Shih Tzu Malteser Mix, and the Poodle.

I got one new cat, the new Bengaldefault smiley :)

That's everything i ordered, but this last one came a surprise! It was included in the box for free, with a thanks for your purchase card (and i got a coupon for my next order as welldefault smiley (l) ) Its a smurf figurine! I've not really gotten into collecting the smurfs, so this is my first one of them...i'm not gonna turn away a free one! Plus, and i could be wrong on this, but when i was looking it up to see which one it was, i thought i saw them say somewhere that it is retired? Either way, it was a nice surprisedefault smiley :)

Its the 2015 Smurfette Manager Smurf!

[/spoiler:0]

That's it for now folks...tata until next time!default smiley ^)

im so sad that i can't order from the schleich site. For a long while there wasn't a dutch version. There is one now but you can only look at the products not actually order them.

That's kinda silly isn't it? Why would you build a site to advertise specifically to a place where you can't/don't sell your product? Maybe they are setting it up so that they be sold on that site in the hopefully near future! Fingers crossed for you!default smiley (y)

Its the CollectA Marwari stallion!

I'm extra excited about him because one, i just love his wittle ears!default smiley (7), and two, the oldest and largest line i have bred on Howrse is my Marwari line. I started it in 2012 and plan to breed them for as long as i am a part of Howrse. I love them! So now's he like my little mascot lol.default smiley (l)

I have noticed that, more so on some models than others...i chocked it up to my ignorance of real horse anatomy and conformation. I just don't know enough about it, so i simply enjoy it because as a whole, its just another beautiful horse to me lol.default smiley xd I guess one way to look at it is as a quirk or something like that maybe? A unique characteristic or trademark...albeit an odd one maybe lol. For example, if you know what Precious Moments ceramic figurines are, you can recognize them easily, especially by their tear drop shaped eyes.

Click to display
Just in case you guys don't have Precious Moments...i have no idea if you do lol. Here's an example...

I guess what i'm trying to say is, if every horse figurine company out there made them with "perfect" conformation, there would likely be few differences between them, and it could get boring. I personally like to be able to point and say, oh that's a (whatever it is), i can tell by (their distinct look or characteristic). I don't know...i guess i want to enjoy the art and not be bugged by imperfections, at least to a certain degree.default smiley :)

I sure hope i make at least a little sense ha ha.

You know, thinking about this more, i think i know why some of you have talked about the imperfections of (especially newer) Schleich, and in this case, CollectA models so much. For me, I am not very knowledgeable about real horse breeds, or even horses in general. I think that allows me to overlook these incorrect things rather easily, which must be glaring for those of you who perhaps know about these things more, and have the experiences with the real animals, which i lack. So what i easily look past and forget, you guys, once you see it, you can't unsee it. Therefore this beautiful horse figurine becomes weird looking to you. I guess its true what they say...ignorance is bliss! At least in my case ha ha!default smiley xd

Look at the gorgeous fella i got in today!

Its the new Schleich Pura Raza Espanola Stallion! Now i just need the maredefault smiley :)

I have a question for you guys...i'm wondering what kind of stances you like your horses in? I tend to like mine in a more active pose, which is one thing i like about Collecta models...some of them are in more active stances. What kind of stance would you love to see (regardless if there is one already out there or not)? I love to see one with spirit, or even attitude...i'd like to see a head raised up, or one pawing at the ground (although if i understand correctly, those might be kind of a more aggressive stance?) I would love to see a fully extended front leg (this one may exist but i'm not sure if i'm remembering correctly). Another thing i'd love to see is head being tossed to the side, along with the mane. I'd also love to see a partly reared up horse, although i don't think Schleich or even CollectA are too keen on making one like this. The problem is, obviously, it would require a stand or something to hold it up. I know there are a few that are fully reared up, so they can balance on their tail. But Schleich has been around for several decades, and i don't know how long CollectA has been around, but to my knowledge, neither has produced a horse that needs a stand. Correct me if i'm wrong about that. I do know that some Breyers have stands. Anyway, the point of all this is to say i like a variety of stances or poses. I dont want them ALL just standing there, beautiful as they are...i like to see some life in them. What i don't know is how hard it is/would be to make such models, you know, with balancing and standing and all. Lol.

How about you?default smiley *-)
