I just purchased a ticket for BreyerFest! I was way too late for a VIP ticket but.. oh well, more money for the models! default smiley :) I really recommend breyerfest for any collector, even if you’re not a Breyer collector there are some great horse demonstrations, shows, etc and it’s all online this year so anyone around the world can participate. It’s a blast, hope anyone who wants a ticket can get one!

Your Howrse user is named for your Schleich set up? That's awesome!default smiley xd

I have just considered my collection as my "herd" too...maybe I should try to come up with a better name...hmmm.

There’s a lot of awesome schleich artists on Instagram, if you want to I could pm you a list of some really good ones!

Thanks, but I dont have an Instagram account...though I'd be very interested in Ebay accounts that have some for sale, in case I want one or more for my collection. Itd be a new branch to my collection cause so far i have zero customs! And i never seem to see any...i should do a search with custom in the name!

general painting supplies like paintbrushes, acrylic paint some kind of sealer preferably a matt sprayable one, a glossy sealer for eyes and nostrils, couple of old schleich bodies, for better results pastels tough they are kinda tricky so i dont recommend as a beginner, if you wanna resculp youl need things like wire crafting knifes airdry clay/apoxy sculpt
really fancy repainters use airbrushes but those are really expencive so definitly not a beginners item

I got some new oldies! I'm still waiting for the new year models to come out in stores...trying not to shop online for them yet, so i know which ones to get. If i can get them in a brick and mortar store, i won't have to pay shipping. And if i can't find them in a store, then i can focus on finding those online instead of the others that i would wind up finding later in a store anyway.

Here they are!

I finally got the 2001-2005 Mississippi Alligator! He is missing a tag, but in otherwise great shape except for minor wear, which is mostly on his underside. I am pleased with the shape he is in, because he's harder to find.default smiley :)

The other two i got are a continuation of the knight with the big sword i recently got (and shared here of course)! Both also new in their box. The first one is pretty much just like the first knight, only this one is the red knight, whereas the first one i got was the blue knight. After all, what good is a donning a full suit of armor and carrying a big sword if you have no opponent?default smiley :p

The other is the Black Knight On Horse! You can guess why i chose to get this one...what better way to have a knight than on a noble Schleich steed?default smiley :-)) Plus it helps him to fit in with my collection a little better ha ha.

Sorry the pic is small, i couldn't find a bigger one! Anyway, that's all for now...but i'll be baaaaaaccckkk!default smiley (m)default smiley xd

you might have more luck on etsy pretty sure lots of ppl sell via there to tough i personally never buy customs cuz they tend to be pricy and i like to repaint myself

Hi, and welcome! I've wanted to count mine for a while now, but the task is too daunting still lol. Plus, it would require taking them off the various shelves, in which case I'm afraid I would never get them all to fit back in there (I'm thinking of one shelf in particular lol). But last count I had on my horses was in the 170 to 200 range, including some duplicates. Everything else, including pets, people, farm life, wild life, sea life, and odds and ends, I have never counted, but it's in the hundreds, with just a few duplicates. Not sure that I've hit 1000 yet, but not impossible. I might have...I have no idea. But it's a lot lol.

Then of course there is my smaller Breyer and CollectA, etc collections. I say small, but because some of those Breyers are much bigger, they take about as much or more space than the Schleich collection lol.

And the end is nowhere in sight...sigh lol. I might be beyond help with this addiction!default smiley :p

I have 200 models and still adding on. I'm also making bareback pads, leggaurds, saddle pads, blankets, and all horse necessities. I'm also going to try and set up a business for schliech tack and more.

If you need tips on building I reccomend popcical sticks, thick toothpicks, and leather straps.

To build use hot glue and glue the popsicle sticks. Then use a xacto knife and cut the doors( this is the hardest part) then cut the leather straps and glue an end to the door and attach the other end to the side of the stable. Then cut paper clips and make them into tiny hooks. Then glue them on the stable.(don't forget to make a small loop on the end of the leather strap!) Se the toothpicks to make tack hooks Do the same for a trailer but add a top.

Now enjoy your shliech creations! Draw your own logo and stable name on the side of the trailers if you want to.

I just got the Paso fino stallion from schleich. I still haven't took wire off it's hooves or put blanket on it. I think it's a flash chestnut with flowers in its hair

I collected as a kid and still have well over 150 of them I believe.
i like making tack, stables and other such things too
i dont recommend using hotglue at all tough it usually ends up thick and bumpy which lessens the realism of your barn but if you are willing to sacrifice that than its definitly a strong option of glue

If you use the hot glue to make your barn, wait till it cools but is still a little bit liquidy then carefully use your finger or a popsicle stick and scrape it off. And then paint.

The only Schleich barns I ever made were cardboard with popscicle stick dividers, but they were really fun to play with.
