Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

So I bred this girl a couple of days ago. I haven't really been breeding lately. My thing is I want to improve trot on the filly (Once I've finished her; which might be within the next couple of days if I'm feeling better as I've been sick since Sunday). What would be the best breed to do that?

I'll take a look, but top three skills aren't a concern as long as trot is improved.

Okay guys I need some suggestions here... So I bolted my TB/Selle stallion (he's now a mare), and I'm kind of stuck on what to cross her with.

My goal is to keep the speed/dress/jump skill set (doesn't have to be in that order), and I would prefer it if the stallion were even 50/50, with no Selle or TB, so I could get an even 4-way cross.

Any suggestions?

how about a kwpn/paint? It would bring gallop up a little, but will still improve the speed/dressage and keep jump up

He is going to be done once I find 3-5 more ageing points and complete his rides. So happy with his turnout. I can enter a Western Pleasure competition and 9 times out of 10 will win or place.

Working on this cutie today. Suggestions for breeding once she's blupped?
I'm thinking something half/half, not GV or KWPN, and good in stamina/dressage/jumping? I'm working mostly with cross-country nowadays, but I've branched out into show-jumping as well. She's actually pretty good all around, except for trot.

My Darkest Hours is finished. Right now he is a comp horse until I need him to be a sire. Speaking of being a sire, if anyone wants coverings off of him, just pm me.

Perhaps an Akhal-Teke cross? A half and half cross of Akhal-Teke and Arab would keep your stamina/dressage/jumping but I don't think it would help your trot. You could use Knabbstrupper in place of one of the breeds if you want to make your trot better.
Hey all,
Super excited to be back in the crossing game after I took a two year break from Howrse. Started back off right with my lovely Mercuria who is a now the #1 Connie for Speed and Jumping, plus #3 for total skills and #12 for Dressage.

I'm going to start breeding her soon, so we'll see how that turns out.

Does anyone know what comps this Paint cross would be good in and how should I train it.

Okay. So Wild Card's three best skills are dressage, speed, and gallop, and his speciality is classical. What it means is that her best three skills correlate with Gallop Competitions, if I am correct. Since she has pretty high trot, I could also advise entering her in trot comps. As for training, Idk what you mean, as this horse is (fully!) blupped and bolded?

Really happy with these Akhal-teke crosses! My most recent cross, Here is the Queen, is now the number one ranked Akhal-teke in the elite ranking! She's a gypsy/Teke.default smiley :d So happy with her!!

Does anyone have a high GP Nokota trail cross stud (6500+) with Nokota listed on bottom? It can't have KWPN or Lusitano. I'm trying to breed a Nokota dominant cross to boost my trail competition. I bred a nice horse, but forgot to make it a Nokota default smiley (lol)

Does anybody else hate it when their crosses turn out with all sorts of wonky percentages in the genetics? default smiley (lol) On a similar topic, I just bought a GV that's 75% GV and 25% KWPN. Trying to figure out what will happen once I breed him. I have a great purebred KWPN I like to breed, so would that make the offspring 50/50? (Math is harddefault smiley (lol) )

Add the percentages of the sire's genetics with the dam's and then divide by 2. So if one parent is 75% Gypsy and 25% KWPN, and the other parent is 100% KWPN you'll end up with a 62.5%KWPN, 37.5% Gypsy.
