What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I don't believe foundies could be 349 but their foals could be especially if they weren't 100 BLUP at the time of breeding. It would have been much easier almost for the 0GP project to get further at that point.

It is funny lively the horse you pointed us towards is a retired GA default smiley :p

You guys do know that screen shots *can* be altered to appear like the Gaia/Ouranos when they are not, right? Not saying that real NIB breeders would do that, but a picture can't necessarily be fool-proof evidence that your line is NIB.

mm .. no I remember that some foundies were less than 350. I am almost positive of it. As for the horse I pointed you to.. hehe I would be surprised if he wasn't retired. LOL I put that coat on her/him ( he has had bolts used on him) wayyyyy back when he initially turned 3 and when i originally sold him I believe it was for around 6-7 passes at least. Back then I had a pass obsession as well.
When I came back in game I did not realize teh huge gp jumps at first and went on a binge trying to buy back all of my old horses.
Studbrat sold me quite a few of them. ( including some of the old foundies I had been working prior to quitting lol).

livelyblue - I'm 100% certain that foundations have never been lower than 350. A lot of the original first generation NIBs were around 349, and also once horses started disappearing there were horses that said they're parents were Ouranos and Gaia that had lower GPs, but really had disappeared ancestors.

Im also one from the very beginning ..and they always have the starting point of 350 it is the first generations that end up going down from not gaming, training, and 100 blupping the howrses to the max before breeding..that is just my two cents..default smiley :)

Finally!! I started to "speed" train Sasha about 2 days ago. She was about 8 and had roughly 50% skills......I was unaware until half way through that she was without a timer.....it took sooooo long to get her where she is now but I finally did it and see all those wins she got while I was bolding her! And she has more pending still.....haha

Sigh* more MA foundies to speed train still though default smiley :p

Maybe I am wrong who knows. At this point does it even matter? Any chance we can just drop it. I know what I have seen in the past. Regardless of whether or not others believe it. POint is gp jumps are much greater now than they were then.

Forest Queen: Wow, Water of Youth and no timer, you must have the patience of a saint. I had a horse like that once... a long time ago. I eventually sold her because it took so long to try and BLUP her. Good going!

"Old" foundies did differ from the current foundation horses in that gain through games was distributed unevenly across the skills. I'm not sure I have any 2007 foundies any more, but if I come across one I'll post so you can see what I mean.

Wow, I'm learning so much by reading this topic. Forest Queen, *cheer* Sasha has her 20 wins now default smiley :). I've been trying to avoid entering my non NIB arabs against her default smiley (lol), so glad to hear she did so well.

Horses with WOY and no CT are a pain default smiley xd. The worst part is I never seem to realize they don't have a CT until I've already bought them *sigh* and sometimes I don't realize they have a WOY either. I think I've only ever done two horses like that before, one was a Welsh unicorn and the other is my favorite Welsh foundie mare, who was only around 4 or so when I bought her so double lessons every day got her 440 skills default smiley (l).
