It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I am so excited! I just bred a 354.93 Appaloosa NIB foal default smiley :) He is a colt with 70.77 IBS default smiley :) His name is Patriot! And I am just so thrilled!

I was wondering how much his GP will increase with proper games?

And are there certain BM items that would be best to have on hold for his games?

And what BM items would be best to have for training him?

Thanks default smiley :)

Storm!

I am definitely submitting him on Sunday default smiley :)

He's even a 1st generation default smiley :) Both parents were Foundation! default smiley :)

I am just really excited and happy right now! default smiley :)

I am over halfway with my stamina now, so should get there after a tonne more blupping default smiley :( default smiley (lol)
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 23:29:06
Storms Ransome, you will get 356.13 with proper games default smiley :d
I prioritise my BM items as Timer, them Arms, then GA (personal Choice as i love them) then either e wind or hep horseshoes if i have spare. If i am low on passes and could only use one i would use a timer default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 23:30:45
Also, do games when temp is at least 6 or you will likely need an Orchid. If you look in Pollyanna202's forum she has a really good games shedule, i always get full gain default smiley :)
I don't have half of what you said default smiley :( I just wanted him to be a great horse. I'm looking for GAs, because there are coats out there that I want one of each of, but no one is selling any and I don't buy passes default smiley :( So I don't BO, CT, GAs, used my last Hep horseshoe too default smiley :( Maybe I should wait.... What do you think kaliko? and do you know if I can submit him without having his games done?

You can game him with nothing if you are careful with temp. The BM's i suggested are for training and are not essential, just what i like to use when i can. I would advise gaming him before submitting as he will have a much better GP that way default smiley :) Use a good games programme and make sure EC has carrots and 100% clean meadows and you will get full gain default smiley ;)
could i PM you the gaming schedule I have, and you could tell me if you think it is a good one or not?

Storms Ransome I have no probs with you using your forums for that or anyone else. Hehe the more the merrier default smiley :). Lolojean, when I first started NIBing this time round I breed foundies to firsts and so on, it made it rather hard to keep track of the blood lines. Also, as kaliko said it makes for a more consistent gp jump.
I forget who it was that was asking but your foals always have the chance during games to gain 1.20 to their GP. (when gamed perfectly) I stink at it or more of my horses would have better gp's I am generally off by .02 on the max gain for it.
Hehe as for that greenstar connie, I see it coming in the not too distant future.
LOL more than likely it will be kaliko with the first one default smiley :). She blups so much faster than i. default smiley :)
BTW thank you for the help today kaliko, you and paddy's mum were a huge help finishing off that bugger For lacey. Got my first foal off her and it was a very nice gp jump from her parents.

Ay, me. Would someone please rescue me from myself?

When I bid on this horse, I had plenty of equus.

http://www.howrse.com/marche/enchereVoir?id=4186086

Now, I do not, and the bidding ends in less than 3 hours.

I will have the equus in a day! ARG!

I really don't wish to lose a karma point.

Would someone, preferably someone willing to sell it back to me, please bid on the horse?

I am an idiot. default smiley *-)

Thanks. default smiley (l)
yeah I can help you default smiley :) do you have the link to the horse?

If anyone is looking for Barb & Paso foundations, someone put a whole bunch in the private sales for pretty cheap. This isn't an ad, because I'm not selling them, just happened to notice there were a lot of them & wanted to let barb & paso NIBers know about it.

Thanks, Storm, the link is in the post. URL rather. I don't know how to make it clickable on this software.

the max you can get out of games is 1.20 GP for any horse default smiley ;)

@ Rivenwood from Dec 7:

Yup, I tried that! lol Sometimes I'm not even online at the right time, which is a bummer. default smiley :)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have some foundie chincos, some foundie morgans, a quarter horse (my original), a foundie connie, and a foundie barb. (Also a NIB morgan baby)
I rather like all of the breeds, but I'd consider selling the connie. NIBing with the chincos, morgans, and barbs seems to be what I am leaning towards. I can use my QH to finance my NIBs. lol default smiley ;)
Is it illegal to mention that I have 7 NIBs and Foundies in auction right now? default smiley ;)default smiley :p
Storms Ransomme...basically you just have to email obsidianmoon with your best GP and she will put it on there for you...but her forums are awesome for letting people know what and how many howrses are for sale..
By Retired breeder, 10th December 2009 03:11:53
These are my highest.
Appaloosa - 356.75 when born, 357.95 after games
Chinco Pony - 355.30 when born, 356.50 after games
Purebred Spanish Horse - 354.79 when born, 355.99 after games
Hello LoloJean,
Please read what Rivenwood posted above and keep in mind that if a horse disappears in your lineage, your line will be broken and will no longer be considered NIB status by other breeders.
If you don't use a stone and your horse dies, it is much harder to trace and your horses can disappear from the line. Also, if you quit the game and leave everyone who buys horses from you will have a disappeared horse in their line and their line also will no longer be considered NIB status. This is one of the reasons we don't have any green star NIB horses yet.
Please consider this when making your decision about not making your horses immortal. I've made all of my NIB horses immortal in my Land of Make Believe line only to discover that other NIB breeders left the game and so now I have disappeared horses in my line.
I would not consider it important to stone all of your NIb/ foundie horses. Lines can still be traced easily enough if you take the time even after they die. It is just too expensive to immortalise all your horses and to be blunt in the end it is not worth it.
May sound cold but I will be blunt, unless you want to spend a fortune on passes you will want to age those horses and get the passes off of them when they pass on. Otherwise the expense is insane, Trust me I have gone through the whole stage of immortalising all of my horses before hence why my kharma is so blasted high.( trust me I have lost at least 10 kharma so mehh as you can tell kharma drops do not overly worry me anymore). Anywho though, point is I highly suggest ageing your horses out for several reasons.
1) you no longer have the expense of caring for them.
2) if you sell them as an instant pass horse that is a nice chunk of equus and the horse will not disappear after it is dead( to my knowledge)
3) if you completely age them out past 30 you can get a pass( be certain to remove any equipment they may be using).
4) The value of their offspring is increased because that line cannot exactly be reproduced,
I will not lie I have quite a few immortals, primarily because I like the GA coat they are wearing. Recently, I came to the conclusion that aside from a GA the only items i care to purchase for my horses are tears and such. The expense of NIBing is very real for most of us. 3 days ago i had well over 150,000e .. 3 days before that I have over 300,000 ( rough estimate on the days).
I have a huge amount of horses and generally purchase close to 100-200 turnips in a day not to mention mash.
Basicly, what I am saying is do your best to be able to get a return on your horses. It's not always easy as NIB horses/foals are often safe havened by other breeders. ( not NIbers but you get me).
Best wishes and use your best judgement.
p.s. To all NIB breeders who may later on decide to leave the game and delete your account.
If you have NIB horses that offered coverings to other NIB breeders of if you sold foals from your line to other NIB players, please sale all of your horses to other NIB breeders. Otherwise when you delete your account ~ whether your horses have a philosopher stone or not ~ the horses left in your breeding farms will also be deleted and disappear from everyone else's line.
Obsidian Moon has deleted other NIB players' names from her NIB Breeder list as it is her right to do so. I just thought I would mention that to help everyone out before you're several generations in your line and find disappeared horses in your line.
If you have any foundation Hanoverian ~ male or female ~ that has a gp 351.10 or higher that you would like to sale, please let me know. I have Hanoverians that has a gp of 355 and 356 + from the 3rd generation but they are no longer considered NIB because they have disappeared horses in their line. The horses that disappeared was registered in Obsidian Moon's list but I no longer see them in her NIB listing.
I don't know how else to prove they are all NIB horses. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Rivenwood, do you have any suggestions on what is considered to be verifiable proof? I would appreciate any help or suggestion you can give me.
Thank you.
Ardenia - I have never had trouble tracing lineage with horses that have died & been sent to heaven. As far as I have seen, they still exist in the database. It is a problem when players leave the game & those horses they still own leave the game. I can't imagine spending all those passes on stones. I use my older NIB horses that I'm done with as pass horses.
Hello livelyblueyes,
If your horse is a foundie horse and it dies, yes, you can trace those back to Ouranos and Gaia, but I'm referring to the generations that follow after that. I have horses that were covered by Waynekat1's horses from his 2nd and 3rd generation. All you have to do is look at my Land of Make Believe Hanoverian line and you will see disappeared horses in their line. Even though Waynekat1 was registered with Obsidian Moon in her NIB list I can offer no proof that is who covered my mares. I now have 3rd and 4th generation Hanoverians that are not considered NIB status by other NIB breeders because all they see is disappeared horses in their line. The reason they disappeared is because they had no stone and WayneKat deleted his 2nd and 3rd generation horses when he deleted his account.
After spending several passes on my horses to produce a green-star Hanoverian and then have disappeared horses in their line, it is very disappointing and wasted money also. Please consider this when you work with your own line.
If this were in real life they could do a dna check and know that the horse was NIB. On a game where people come and go and you have no dna tests to prove it makes it a bit harder to prove your horse is NIB. You would also be given papers in real life so that if a person left you would still have proof. That is not the case on this game. Please keep that in mind. default smiley ;)
Hello aml919,
You are right when you say that when they go to heaven they can be traced. I guess I was tying the 2nd part of my message when you sent yours. lol. I'm talking about when you get into the 6th, 7th and 8th generations. They are extremely difficult to follow. Although it would be better for them to be in heaven than untraceable at all. On that I agree with you and livelyblueeyes completely .
I am looking to buy some foundaiton Hanoverian so if you could pm me if you have any to sale that would be great.
Do you have any suggestions on how to offer verifiable proof for horses that have disappeared horses in their lineage? I welcome all suggestions and tips.
