It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Happy to see this topic is so popular. I breed NIB connies and barbs but keeping it small at the moment. Sadly I forgot to submit my barb mares information on sunday...waiting for next sunday since my mare has more GP than the one on the list. That one was a lucky purchase from auctions. Didn't even know about NIBs when I bought her default smiley :-))

LoloJean - with the BO, she should get to or very very close to 351.2.

When I use the black orchid to game babies, I start off by grooming and feeding them the max amount they need for the day (if they need an off number, like 6.4 pounds, I round up to 7 pounds). Then I game them to as close to 0% energy possible. Once they have extremely low energy, I go to the BM and give them the BO. After I immediately go back to their page, and game them to 20% (sometimes a little higher) energy levels or until it hits 22:00 in their day, whichever comes first. I always put them to bed in pasture, no matter the season. All you see is a morale drop and by giving the BO daily, that is taken care of.

If you want to game the foal to 351.2, you will likely have to use 4 BO's to get there (or as close as is possible).

Good luck! Let us know how the foal turns out default smiley :)
I'm looking for Foundation QHs, Mustangs, and Appaloosas. IF anyone has any can they PM me?

Riven, is it ok if I post here what I am looking for?

how much would my Austrailian Foundation be worth ??
By Retired breeder, 8th December 2009 21:21:30
ellenwfan - Your Aussie foundie is not well trained for age and doesnt have a great blup, but does have good BM items and a nice GA. You may find he will be worth more to a GA collector than a NIB breeder as he needs alot of work to blup and is at the low end of the foundie GP scale default smiley :) You could put him in private sales and see if you get any interest default smiley *-)
By Retired breeder, 8th December 2009 21:22:21
thanks i know he's not the best but i'd likee to get some interest from him default smiley :d any idea for a ad??
By Retired breeder, 8th December 2009 21:31:33
I would put that he is NIB in the listing as that will attract NIB breeders to look, and also list his BM items. Anyone looking for GA coats will likely check him out anyway default smiley :)

Hi Rivenwood. Don't know if you are still around. You might be interested in an article in the latest edition of the Horse Health Newsletter. It is about the apparent relationship between coat colours in some paint horses and deafness in them. This would suggest a linked trait, which is very interesting. My own research found no link between coat colour and behaviour in thoroughbreds, despite the popular myths that exist - though further research would be warranted default smiley :)

My suggestion would be to use stam comps for Sahara. Make sure you use the scrolly bar to be able to enter the lowest possible comp he possibly can. You should get your wins fairly fast.

Also trot races should work pretty good as well.
Oo and on a bright note default smiley :) I have a new foal for the Low Ridge NIB farm default smiley :)
I'm hoping to work on my foundation and second generation mustangs next week. Do many people use freisians for the NIB program? I have a few second generations freisians and I'm not sure what to do with them. I might sell or use them for NIB breeding myself default smiley *-)

I have seen several folks who breed NIB friesians throughout the post. With luck you could possibly find a buyer for them.
Cool. Thanks livelyblueyes default smiley :)

Ugg this 1g mare I am working is taking forever. She isn;t the best buy far but she is decent and with luck should pop a fair foal once I get her blupped and cross her with my horse calculated risk. However, it's looking as if I will be lucky to get 1 foal out of her at the rate things are going. She needs 5 more wins and even one of my foundies is beating her default smiley :(
I'm having a heck of a time getting wins with any of my horses right now... it's getting kinda frustrating. So I can relate livelyblueyes. default smiley (n)
