It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

vag111 - I would do all of his short sloped rides, that will increase his speed skills, and add to jumping. I'd also finish Jumping training to max out that skill.

Since you haven't done much stamina training, I would try those comps (make sure your jumping skills are bolded so you get the most you can from that. Dressage is low for Brumbies so you're going to have trouble with all comps. After trying cross country races, I'd do some trotting because you haven't done much training in that either & you'll get into lower races.

Good Luck!

Well my Connie NIB program crashed hard core default smiley (o)
But after my sister got a Pandora's Box out of her most recent HOP and gifted it to me, I managed to revive my first horse on here. He's a foundation horse but with some hard work he'll be perfect (I hope) any advice on getting his BULP up and making him the perfect Stallion would be gladly accepted.

Also I'm going to be looking to Purchase a mare of my own at some point in the near future, she doesn't have to be perfect of course but she does need to be NIB and 100% paint horse.

PM me if you can help me out with making my stallion a better man, or have NIB paints and might have a little mare i can purchase once i get my Kharma up high enough to get into the private sales.
TXH in advance default smiley :)

I would REALLY like to get involved with this with either Hanoverians and/or Quarter Horses. I have a foundie Hanoverian, but if anyone would like to PM me with some info/insight, I would greatly appreciate it.
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 03:15:17
I breed & keep only Foundation & NIB horses / ponies. I like to keep my family trees balanced.
NTCHBL I breed NIB connies (lightly) once you get some studs or a mare up let me know and I will see what I have around then. default smiley ;)

K, *takes deep breath and dives into speed training a foundie with WOY*.........I hate WOY but love it at the same time.......

I was lucky and the horses I sped trained last night all got around 6 or 7 wins (the only wins they have at the moment but still getting somewhere with them default smiley (y))

I am ALWAYS on the lookout for foundation arabians, aussies, and connies (though I don't breed my aussies just collect pretty pony GA coats on them lol)

To the breeder that has the foundation aussie, the GA coat isn't retired yet so 3 passes is a little high. I would be willing to buy for 7500e if you're interested please PM me to let me know. Thanks (7500e is a good price for a regular foundation arabian and a good price for most GA horses on average default smiley ;))

Well so far today I managed to get Stacey (fiundie)to 100BLUP, For Lacey(1st gen) is just short 5 wins which are being a bugger., Turbo(another foundie) needs 8 more wins .. Blitz ( another foundie) needs 8 wins and some more training. Sparky( another foundie) needs 6 wins nd some training.. so with luck in the next few days I will have some more foundies blupped for my low ridge affix.
*sigh* this second farm is taking ages lol. I still need to finish BLUPPing out my 1g horses for the Horsecreek affix. I sorted out who i was breeding to who the other night and did some culling based on that. Sent some of the ones I culled over to my daughter so she can fill for me when I really need it. Prob is the some of them have been beating out the horses I am working on lmao so I kinda bit myself in the rear. Oh well she is happy thats all that matters.

Oh and NTCHBL once you can access the privates I can try to help you out with a foundie mare. All I ask is should you decide to sell her please resell her to another NIBer as I am hesitant to begin with on parting with my foundies due to disappearing lines. Especially since I started putting a garauntee on no disappeared lines or your money back.
eliza I prefer not knowing who has the top GP to be honest. I want to focus on the horse not the breeder like it seems to be (to me anyway) with the GP race with the greenstars

I have finally gotten my foundation hano stallion to 100 BLUP (it took forever getting those wins) and I just purchased a foundation mare who was already 100 BLUP for a good price. I'm excited to get started with this project, as the highest GP race is way too far out of my reach :P now I can kind of work at my own pace. Again, any insight on reading bloodlines, to make sure that foals aren't inbred would be greatly appreciated, just PM me :]
elizabethruiz - I submitted the 365.16 with my horse Midas

matersalad - I find the best way to keep track of bloodlines is to keep a spreadsheet of the horses and the foundation horses in their lines, as a foundation should only appear once in order for a horse to be NIB. Checking lines then comes down to opening up the genealogical tree of a horse down to the foundations. I use tabs and open the father in the new tab while clicking on the mother, and continue doing this until I reach a foundation in each tab. If all the tabs are different horses, the horse is NIB. Welcome to NIB Hano's -its great to have someone else working with them!

Do you know how many times this horse got sick while I was working with him! OMG I was going to shoot myself. Not to mention seconds before I was finished with his day the maintenance happened so there went yet another mess up in his training default smiley :@ *sigh* yet again another immortal though so nothing too major to fret about. .....I have another WOY waiting for me...staring me down....should I dare to go take care of that one as well default smiley xd default smiley (lol)

Are there any NIB Canadian Horse breeders around? If so, please contact me. Thanks!
Ya got her to 10 years then had to stop (another horse I bought old with no training but again was immortal with MA so was a bonus for being poorly taken care of)....my head hurts lol. Now I'm about to go to bed and will finish her up when I wake up. Have the day off so no need to worry about that default smiley :). Those are the only two MA/WOY combos I have so I don't have to worry about speed training any more of them like that, though I still have plenty of MA horses to speed train at some point....one step at a time.

How are you horses coming along blue?

What is the definition of a NIB?

How many generations need to be bred before using grandparents or great-grandparents, etc, to still be considered NIB?

Is linebreeding considered inbreeding?
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 10:10:09
Rivenwood: thank you default smiley :)

Ms_Spyder: the only horses that should be in there twice are the two "god" horses.
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 10:20:34
Yes!!

Got him up to 351.2!
He actually got it in the middle of the last day so I didn't need a fourth BO!default smiley ^)

Thank you so much for your help Rivenwood!

I'm thinking about making him immortal, because he has full gain. Would that be a wise choice?
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 10:29:49
Aargh! It's just impossible to get connie mares from auction. Can't wait to get to private sales. And when I do, I promise to buy some nice mares there.

livelyblueyes: sorry for bidding nice conn stallion right under your eyes. I created my own way to win easily on auctions default smiley ;)

I'm confused...

My starter horse has BLUP 99.57 and I wonder why its not 100 default smiley *-)

I have counted wins several times, he has stamina, dressage and jumping bolded and he is way over 10 years old.

I don't understand default smiley :'(

Someone know what is wrong?
(I don't know how to create links here but he is called Zorro)

Was sooo easy to (almost) blup him that he will probably be last foundation arab I do atleast for a while default smiley :d

Just wanted to share that i have broken my own breeding record for GP of a NIB 2nd Gen. Just bred one with an after games GP of 362.35, and over 112 inborns default smiley :-))
Hate to say it but I still can't BLUP an Arabian to save my life but some of the other breeds are doing good. Not to long ago got a PSH BLUPed and bred so yahhh one down a few dozen more to go. After foal game the foal ended up with 357.10 as a GPdefault smiley :-)). Working with another PSH and trying to figure out what to do with a Chincoteague Pony I just got. I'm pretty much working any horse that I find interesting at the moment, training it a certain stage then moving on.

Hello.

How do you verify their pedigrees when horses disappear in their lineage?

I bought horses from breeders that had their names listed on Obsidian Moon's NIB list. They have since left the game and I believe Obsidian Moon took their names off of her NIB list.
