It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Shadowbird, has he aged since you finished him off? BLUP changes when they age, not during their day
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 12:12:29
Blinkyli, no worries default smiley :) but get him blupped so I can get a cover default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 12:27:29
lively: of courseI'll blub him. Just hoping it will be easier job than my barb stallions blubbing. Getting those 2nd places all the time and time difference to winner is usually only 0,02 default smiley :@

Was there some ec forum where you could search for NIB stallions or advertaise own stally? Found sales forums but I need to find stally soon.

I have a bit of a dilemma.... Should I put WOY on two of my foundations? I plan on making them immortal anyway, but I think I've worked out that I can get one of them to over 400skills with WOY...

I have completely forgotten how to do links but they're Ginger Flame and Stormbreaker in my Pure Morgan tab.

Advice would be very much appreciated.

My personal opinion is to wait for a future generation stally and use it on him. The higher you get into generations the harder it can be to blup at times because you are leaving the area of super low skills and crossing into some of the higher end horses . I would save it for a 2nd or 3rd generation horse.. also using it on a mare can be a royal pain at times.
I try not to buy mares with them at all lol but I would put it on an older stallion that isn't planned for immortality. If you're going to make them immortal it is probably better like lively said to wait for a later gen or to put it on a different horse lol. I almost always sell my WOYs so never really have any when I need them default smiley :p

I have a question.

I was able to buy a foundie yearling, and now he has FULL GAIN! *happy dance*

Would it be worth my while to make him immortal?
It depends. I would if it had full 351.2 myself but if you think you can get everything BLUP'd and bolded before he is to old and get a foal out of him then it all depends on if you want to stud him out for eternity default smiley ;) lol. As a resell option it adds a few thousand to their value, sometimes a pass or two but it seems it costs to much to add tons of bonuses to foundation unless it's for your own personal collection.

Just my opinion though default smiley :p

Riven would it be wrong for me to ask you to link my EC forums in teh original post as somewhere folks can go to find NIB/foundie sales as well as stud horse listings? I plan to keep it as that on a permanent basis for wheoever needs to use it.
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 21:43:33
no worries, Shadowbird

Hi Forest!

LoloJean, unless it's going to make a difference to what other items you're going to put on him, you have till he's nearly 25 to decide...
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 21:51:35
gaff: that's true lol

Ok, another annoying random question

Is it best to keep the generations level? breeding foundies to foundies, 1st Gen to 1st Gen etc?
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 21:54:12
It does make it easier to keep track of generations, but I'm still trying to work out whether it's best to breed two low gps, or pair a low and a high gp...
By Retired breeder, 9th December 2009 22:14:16
You guys can always use the NIBers List as well there is forums there made just for the NIBers...I have the posting right on my page and alot of other NIBers do as well..check it out..they have all the NIBers and if you arent on there contact obsidianmoon and she will add you..default smiley :)
You guys are more than welcome to use my forums too default smiley :)

Please don't think I'm competing with you lively, but I figure the more forums used the faster word will get out for what people are looking for and things like that with NIBs default smiley :)

Let me know though, lively if you would prefer me not to allow people to use my forums for those though. I dont' want to step on your toes or anything

I've tried using the NIBer list Starting Right, but I don't know how to submit my horses or add them to the lists. Do you know by any chance, how to do that? Or anyone? I use obisidianmoon's list, but I don't know how to get my horses on their noticed.

LoloJean, i always breed foundies to foundies, 1G to 1G and so on, but that is my personal preference. I find i get the most consisitent GP jump, and the best increase in skills generation by generation. It depends on how serious your NIB project is. I am aiming for a NIB greenstar and have found this way seems to be making me the best progress, but if you dont plan to do numerous generations i dont imagine it really matters default smiley :)
I with you kaliko default smiley ;) I find breeding my horses with foundation and the same generations work default smiley :) unfortunately i figured that out a little while ago instead of when i just stared default smiley :) do you know what the GP has to be to get a greenstar?
