It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

Please do not use this topic for advertising horses for sale.

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

A quick question. I've acquired a few foundie hanos, as well as a 1st gen, and bred my own 1st gen, now my question is,

Is the Nyx pack a good thing to use for the NIBs? I know it helps greenstar breeders a lot, but does it really give NIBs an advantage? As far as comp wins? It's just so expensive :P
By Retired breeder, 11th December 2009 23:11:32
Dressage be sure to check out the mighty Starting Rights post.
By Retired breeder, 11th December 2009 23:14:53
It would have the same advantage as with greenstars, however you are very unlikely to get the passes back that you spend on it. I have some horses that I have used the packs on and some I haven't, to be blunt it speeds up the BLUPPing for the horse it is on but it will not exactly speed up your program unless you make it a regular item you use.
lively why are people offended by your posts? that doesnt make any sense

I have no clue maybe it's just me taking things the wrong way. At any rate I decided it may be best to just close my forums as the last pm I recieved pointed out that they were rarely used and basicly not worth pointing people towards. So I give up.
I truly am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause. I was hoping they would pick up and flourish so folks here would have a center spot on the horwse website to find the types of studs and horses in general they were looking for.
Well lively i don't care what people say, if you don't want to start your forum back up, Please, feel free to use mine default smiley ;)

And I'm sorry about your forums. Hopefully people will get enough interest soon.

My forums are open to anyone and everyone default smiley ;) Feel free to use them as you see fit.

I trust that you will follow the rules in my forum which are basic and common rules default smiley ;)

Thanks Storms Ransome, I will hop over and use them default smiley :). I hope you fair better than I myself have.
Hey the only problem the forums have in ECs are there aren't enough NIB breeders to appreciate them yet. A lot more people do greenstars. And if they are greenstarred breeders, than who knows. Maybe they feel some competition coming on from us NIBers

I just wanted to say, that so far i have found this thread a great help for meeting and networking with fellow NIBers as well sharing tips for maximising my NIB project. I have also enjoyed offering advice to newer NIB breeders. The one thing i particularly liked was that everyone's input was valued and respected, which is why i am surprised to see the posts over the last page. I personally felt that livelyblueyes forum was a great resource for finding sales and covers without trawling through pages of sales, and helped us to maximise the returns on our hard work. I thought that given some time to establish it would be a great resource and for that to happen i think it is important for it to be highlighted to newer, less experienced NIBers so that they are aware of the resources and support available.
Anyway, i personally hope that you keep your forum open lively as i found it useful default smiley :)
Everyone is more than welcome to use my forums. Maybe with the help with Lively, her and I can get a good forum open for all NIBers and Breeds that people are working on default smiley ;) kaliko if you have any interest, let me know, and you can help the two of us set up my forum default smiley :)

Thank you guys, you do have a point ..I shouldn;t let one ruin it for others.
By Retired breeder, 11th December 2009 23:53:37
Lively, I'm so sorry to hear that that happened! I found it to be a great resource, to have everything in one spot.
I am planing on opening some posts in my forum as well but I was thinking of focusing on Friesians...but any breed will be welcomed there.
Keep in mind, we should also continue to use this forum. I like this topic, and I like being apart of it. Don't let this one fade default smiley ;)

Instead of working on breeds going into my forum, leave those here

and then use my forum to advertise stallions up for covering

horse breeding ideas you have

those who do creat a foal programs

horses for sale as well default smiley :)

Also this might be the best place for wanted horses as many more people can see what you are looking for, but you can also use my forums to get double help for finding those wanted horses default smiley ;)

Got it. Thanks guys.. huge hugs all around.
By Retired breeder, 12th December 2009 00:00:16
I left them open as I said before they are not a source of info.. just a source of sales and possibly studs for folks.
By Retired breeder, 12th December 2009 00:13:35
No dont let one ruin it for others...but also dont tromp on other peoples Ideas either or put rude comments about people on here either because you dont like how they feel...I dont know why someone would put almighty Starting Right when I just happened to try to help someone with the NIB hanos...and suggest the NIBers LIst that has been on this game for along time and has started the networking of NIBers and services...It is up to people to want to network..it has forums there and a chat there as well as all the breeds...so let people decide how they want to market..Everyway is a perfect way if it helps everyone out...but dont stomp on others who sit quietly and offer their advice to people..
By Retired breeder, 12th December 2009 00:19:58

You can go to mine Storm I have decided to keep them open.
default smiley :) AS I said Starting right Take it as you may default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 12th December 2009 00:29:51
You can use mine..I dont discourage anyone from wanting to advertise their NIB's the more posts out there the more connection you make with people..
By Retired breeder, 12th December 2009 00:30:57
lively..just remember a apology goes a very long way on this game..and you know that you didnt mean it that way..I got the pm remember
By Retired breeder, 12th December 2009 00:36:03
I can garauntee you will never get one from me. Not the type you are looking for. In order for that to happen you would need to first apologize for being completely ,totally and utterly insulting in your original pm default smiley :). Rather than continue that line as we were going i chose to block it as I would rather not have you ruin a gaming experience i usually enjoy.
