The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

1500th post!!!default smiley :d So random....

Sandstar, yes, to check it a horse is NIB, you must go all the way back to Oranous and Gaia, and every horse must apear only once.default smiley ;) I think Howrse would run out of horses if someone tried to NIB up to the level of Inbred horses.default smiley :(
A NIB thread! Awesome! Also means I've been out of the game for a rather long time if I'm only just joining in now. default smiley (lol)

I celebrated my new year on Howrse by spending a good two hours mapping out a family tree for my highest GP'd horse because I couldn't remember where I'd left off.

Fellow NIBers, never take a break! Argh!

Welcome to the post Sionnach! What breeds do you NIB?
By Retired breeder, 3rd January 2010 01:56:45
Welcome back Sionnach! Do you NIB any breeds yet? If so, what?
By Retired breeder, 3rd January 2010 01:59:10
Hey Alassiel, did you get that 350.96 GP mare? I'm waiting for a player to get to PS to get that filly I wanted. Can't take a chance, you know?
Currently having a stubborn foundie "attempt to get wins" hano fill fest in show jumping. If anyone has a hano filler with jumping skills around 68-80 and could lend a hand it would be greatly appreciated!

Pintar, I don't think that's me as I'm only looking for 351gp or better.

Finally able to work on my horses now. I was able to game a few of my foals before fall hit. Now I'm just working on competitions along with the rest of you haha. I think the most wins I have so far on one horse is 12, so still a ways to go.

The PSH's I have are a real challenge as they have been for the most part already trained up when I bought them & with very little to no wins at all. Fun, fun! default smiley :)
Welcome back Sionnach - I was beginning to wonder why I wasn't being outbid on every arab foal in the auctions, LOL.

Okay I have a question that i have been asked twice already...okay even if you take screenshots of a NIB howrse and their line is disappearing...is it safe to say that you mine as well compete with them but dont breed them...because who is going to carry around screen shot the whole life of howrse and their babies and the generations of their babies..sorry just wondering..the thoughts people have on that..default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 3rd January 2010 04:48:34
always i will find mine and try to fill for you...what is the name of yours there is lots..lol
Starting Right - thank you so much, you seem to have found them. They have the # in their names, and MissManson's have FS or F or FM in their names.

No prob..Just let me know if you need more help Im always here or updating..lol
Alassíeℓ and Pintar5, thank you very much! It's good to meet you both. I am a long-time breeder of NIB Arabians, and recently (well, a few months ago now) picked up Barbs to break up the monotony. I also do Shetlands on the side in a project with my fiancé. Alas, he is not as Howrse inclined as I, and so progress is slow! :]

aml919, LOL! My apologies - I think we all get a bit... er, "determined" shall we say, when it comes to auctions. Since signing on I haven't even looked at the listings, so perhaps my addiction is cured. My sleep schedule would sure appreciate it!

Starting Right, I personally wouldn't buy a horse that has family missing from its pedigree. However, I have sold 1st generation NIB unicorns in the past with one parent missing, and the person I sold to was kind enough to take my word for it - I owned no screenshots to prove it either way. I guess it depends on the individual buyer.

I think that i have a NIB Peruvian Paso that haas 350 somthing GP but im not sure if she inbred or not. Her mother is a foundie so she has no stars and her father has alot of desendats. I looked but there is just too many horses to check. Should I just asume that she is a NIB horse?

I have a couple 1st generation Mustang stallions that are available for coverings. I don't breed Mustangs, just picked up these two guys when the Mustangs came out last year. One is fully blupped and bolded. The other is blupped and bolded in everything except jump and trot.

PM me if interested. default smiley :)
