It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Rivenwood, 1 question, as an admin and almost exclusive NIBer, is there anything you can do to prevent more horses from disappearing? Forgive me if this has been addressed. I think I might have skipped a few pages somewhere between 40-50. Are horses sent to SH not able to be proven as NIB? Can all players' horses who quit the game be automatically sent to SH if that helps NIBers?

Wow, I would love to try non inbreeding someday but I'm to lazy. You've gotta have some respect for non inbreeders though. I actually inbreed alot, just made a six star brumby by breeding bro and sis together! But it seems to me inbreeding is kinda too easy. Good luck to all you non inbreeders!

sleepingrose,

My NIB project also kind of fell apart with disappeared horses. It seems the best way to go is breed from your own foundies, only. Which means gathering them!! Lot of work. It was quite a setback for me too.

I've also decided to start my NIB breeding over with Friesians. Since it's do-over time, I'm going to develop my 2 favourite breeds! Canadians and Friesians.
jgoslinga, Shame you got outbid on my cannie earlier default smiley :(

Emberrogue - No, I'm sorry. I've chatted with the devs and there's simply no way to do it. It has to do with server space moreso than anything else. SH'ed horses still take up server space, and we're up to something like nine million horses on record now...that's an incredibly large database, especially when combined with millions of accounts. Space had to be saved somewhere default smiley :'(

As a side note, I grabbed a foundie Paso from the private sales earlier. Let me know if you're interested. I only grabbed her as I was sure a NIBer would be interested and I hate to see a foundie end up in the SH before it is used to it's full potential default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 31st December 2009 21:30:53
Riven, do you have any foundation PSHs you would be willing to sell? That's nice you snagged a Paso almost sent to SH.
By Retired breeder, 31st December 2009 21:37:55
yeah, rocket_girl, it seems all of us PSH NIBers have to stick together. It is immpossible to find a correctly gamed foundation. I'v put adds here, I've put ads in the Negtiations, I've combed the Private Sales, Auctions, I've asked big breeders, I just don't know what to try. That player who sells Gaia Foals is much too expensive, (10,000e and 2 passes!!!) I don't know. I guess my best hope is too find a foal from a newbie and game it myself.
I was wondering about that Rivenwood isn't there going to be a point where the SH horse going to have to be deleted. In a lot of games that is why horses are retired and sort of disappear at a certain age or just erased from the game they don't have enough space for all of them. I was playing another game that just put that in place. Wish we could have a website that stored list of family trees that we could all trust that way we know a horse is NIB even when a horse is gone. At this rate there will never be NIB horses that get as good as the starred ones.

@Emberrogue SH horses are still in the family tree and don't disappear.

Started training her

Pintar5 - I am keeping my two PSH boys but they're available for coverings. If I see any foundie PSHs for sale I will be sure to let you know default smiley :)

Hi everyone. I've been thinking of giving this a try (on a very small scale) for a while and was wondering if there were any particular breeds that are easier to get hold of than others when looking for some foundation starter horses?
By Retired breeder, 31st December 2009 22:22:56
Honestly the best way to go about that Sandstar is to review the sales and see what is selling. Renewable breeds (breeds people cna choose as starters) tend to be more reliable as new blood is always being introduced. Breeds that were given away in a limited number (Friesians, Barbs, Morgans, Pasos, etc) are harder to breed as NIB because there are not going to be any more foundies introduced default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 31st December 2009 22:26:07
Okie dokie. Thank you. I'll have a little look around =)
By Retired breeder, 31st December 2009 23:07:38
Pintar, did you win that PSH foal in the auctions? I saw him in there, than noticed you had a bid on him so I left him to you. I've a bid on a foal that ends in about 20 hours. Keeping my eye on him.

Would you believe I found a 351.18gp adult PSH in the PS's for 2000e and 1 pass today? I nearly fell out of my chair and snatched him up real quick. Well worth the pass especially as hard as it's been finding 'em.
By Retired breeder, 31st December 2009 23:57:40
Hello! To anyone interested in NIB fresians I picked up a foundation mare and stallion. Both 4 years 4 months old. They where going to SH. I'm not sure if they have been gamed correctly or anything.

Anyway, I'll be willing to put them up for a reserved private sale if someone asks.
On the same not, i also have a 1st gen paso stallion that I can do the same with. You can see them all under the tab 'other horses'. (they are the only ones of ther breed.)
I had started breeding NIB paints and appys a while back and gave up, just too hard to make the 20 wins with so low a GP, but if there is interest in this project I might take it up again. default smiley :)

VentrueGail - my husband bred NIB Appies before he left the game awhile back. He had no trouble reaching 100 blup. He entered them in low level jumping and trot comps to get their wins default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 1st January 2010 02:12:38
Hmm... aparently I wasn't allowed to write what i did. Sorry about that default smiley :d Though Ithink I have seen others do the same. Never mind then.
Just finished with Samson. I came on today and saw he had his 20 wins so I've just finished training him up and he is still getting wins! But he's also over 20 which is not so much of a good thing.

I think I've got enough POCs to try and do a project with one of my Morgans. I have a few passes so... yeah... this should be fun XD Just got to find an EC with a .1 gain who will let me in, and I don't even have a horse chosen yet to do it with!

I would've thought that by now the game would've added PSH, Friesians and Irish hunters to the choice of horses when you first start the game. They have been around for a while now, which will bring new foundies into the market and such.

Still very, very tempted to try and start NIB IHs. At the moment I'm leaving it for a while so I can really get going with my Morgans. But I'm now also tempted by IH unis.... Oh well, I'll figure it out somehow default smiley (lol)

BTW, Forest Queen, you own one of the unis I bred. I'm so happy to see her in such a good home!

I don't remember if I pm'd you or not about my IH. Will again if I forgot too.

Pasos......I believe I have one or two somewhere.....a morgan foal I believe as well.....default smiley *-)

Good job on Samson default smiley (y)

Tikki Tech is down to just 2 public coverings left before it is down to just custom foals default smiley ;)

I know the Friesian and the PSH are one of the starter horses (not sure about the IH). I just think they are not as popular to pick when a new person joins up.
Even good quality Friesian foundations are hard to find.
I've managed to get quite a few foundation Friesians on Caballow. Thought they might be quite popular over here as well. I'm sure I've seen someone who was about two or three days old with a foundation IH, just can't remember where, or who.

Ok sorry it took me so long to get back to you Rivenwood, I tried to PM you but forgot you can't receive messages, then I tried to look through all your horses to see which one you were referring to so I could see about how much I'd have to pay for her/ him. I only found one and that one was produced by you so I have no idea what s/he'll go for. Please PM me the price. Thanks.

Thank you Riven. I might be needing those coverings in the future. rocket_girl, thanks so much for leaving me that PSH. Riverdoe, PSHs and Friesian are starter horses, just not as popular choices.
@riverdoe, my mum has an IH and shes about 7 days in. she *may* be getting some passes for gaia foals
