Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Very interesting little filly I just got from Una Mattina and a cover from EmeraldShards.

Filly

All skills will be over 1000, and she'll have 8200 skills once fully done. (Without clouding though.)

I'm just not sure which difficulty to get wins in. default smiley xd

Canis Minor I have two of him default smiley xd, if anyone would like to do something with this one or has suggestions for him, would you let me know? I'm thinking I should bolt him or his brother and add speed or stamina next. Decisions, decisions.

She looks wonderful, by the way!

@ Event Horizon-
He looks great! I love his skill set! I would be interested in his twin if no one else is interested.

Does anyone have a favorite cross with Arabians? I got a teared mare with pretty decent GP. Looking for a fairly easy comper but an open to suggestions.

GV x Crio crosses are excellent for low level WP, you could easily swap out the Vanner for Arab.

Appy x TB. Look a few pages back and see the one HL posted, it's won over 30 rosettes and probably more since I last looked.

I bred my own a few months ago, Icarus and he win over 100 gallop rosettes.

Winning rosettes is not limited to purebreds, as someone else posted. It might be easier, yes, but if you cross smartly and have an idea of what you're doing, then getting a crossbred rosette comper is relatively easy to achieve.

She will be #1 Paint horse after the update, also she will be #1 for Jumping and Dressage for the paint horse breed.

My Morab project is going well. I have horses at the top of the Stamina boards and a couple in the top five elite
Been super busy lately with my Gypsy team but thought I'd ask real quick before I spend an hour drawing a pair of bulldogs...

I am moving a new group of crosses to my 100 blup/fully bolded barns shortly and need to move some old mortal mares. So they're available for custom foals.

Every day I'll link one until they're all retired.

Momma

PS...I have plenty of Gyps for crossing if needed. Just take a peek through my Seventh Ave. barns, and I'd be happy to do customs.

Oh, still more time...uh....

Suggestions on what to breed this gal to? I've already done 2 breedings, but I like her.

If you want to keep going the gallop route, I'd recommend a thoroughbred, quarter horse, paint, PSH, Chincoteague, or Appy default smiley (y)

A GV is probably your best bet because of their high GP and same skills as arabs. Then see what you can do in XC default smiley ^)

I have a ton of QH crosses...Nokos, GV, Arabian, TB, Appy, Lusi, PBSH, etc...would it be better to BLUP and train for QH, or the breed I crossed them with?

Just bred an Akhal-Teke mare with 6635GP & 2000+ IBS, which I look forward to training once I can get the BM items!

You don't blup according to the breeds involved, you blup based on the actual genetics of the cross. Go to its genetics tab and you will see its top 3 skills listed there, which will change depending on the breeds of the parents, as the skills are all the average of the 2 parents.

My Highland Pony crossbred, Nessie, just became #1 in the Highland Pony skill ranking! I'm so proud of her!
Presenting my latest achievement...

*drumroll*

My nameless perfect 4-way Marwari x Mustang x PSH x Fjord!

It was my first time ever attempting a perfect 4-way. Originally I had planned on it being Mustang dominant so I could access breed-only rosettes, but I guess I mixed up the breed rule and it ended up Marwari. Oh well, could have been worse.

I plan on skilling him up tomorrow and using him for barrels! Hoping he does well against Mustangs. He will reach 8586.23 skills, fully skilled. I got 5 points off top IBS on the first breeding, which, needless to say, I was extremely pleased about.

(As a side note, I do wish I had access to higher Mustang GP, since he is a little "outdated" compared to top - but what are you gonna do, right?)

A special shout out goes to the following teams:

Wendigis (#1 Marwari)
Riptide (#1 Fjord)
Imperial Aftermath (#1 PSH)

They supplied me with top covers and were lovely to work with. default smiley (l)

Anyone got any ideas on where to start in terms of blupping (and eventually skilling) this horse. Iwas thinking just going on rides until 3 yrs and then comping and then just skilling and finishing training and rides. I've never done comping before training before and I am having trouble making a start on where to train first.
Thanks, okaybye.

Anyone have a stud and/or mare that's 50/50 and its stop skills are speed, dressage, and gallop (in no particular order) and willing to give me a cover/breed me a foal? 6500+ GP is preferable but it's fine if it's lower. No PSH and Lusi blood please. Thanks!! default smiley :)

This is funny to me, because the 4-way cross I was planning was supposed to end up as Marwari, but breed order got flipped, so it would end up as Lipizzan default smiley (lol)

Really awesome cross, though, either way.

Sounds like a good plan to me, that's how I BLUP almost all of my horses default smiley :)
