Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I did the same thing! It made me so mad. Luckily, I clicked grumpily around for a few minutes, and the coats showed up five minutes later. Someone said it is usually like that. There were no winged uni, pony, or donkey 100s this time. Only three uni, two pegasus, four normal, and three draft. I got six coats in the five minutes before they were gone. Missed getting one for my all time favorite comp cross, so I'll rebreed for better GP and try again next month.

Selle or Crillo would be good for winning breed only gallop comps. TB or Appy if you want to try for gallop rosettes.

Hi all, does anyone have a stud that could help me out with my newest breeding project?

If you read the last two posts you will get an idea as to where I am at with it all, and what I possibly need.

Sorry for the vagueness, I am at work...
Basically looking for a stud that does not have the 15/44 breeds I already have.

I don't know what kind of GP you're looking for, but I have a few that may be able to cross a couple breeds off your list (if I read your checklist right default smiley :s). Feel free to shoot me a PM if you think any would help.

Clouded Leopard (4294.91 GP) 50%P. Paso, 25% Paint, 25% Standardbred
Silver Lining (4826.78GP) 62.5% Lippi 12.5% Thoroughbred 12.5% Gypsy 12.5% KWPN
Bold Loyalty (4148.95GP) 50.4% Knabstrupper, 36.8% Nokota, 12.8% KWPN
Successful Season (5272.44GP) 75% KWPN 25% Austrailian pony

Does anyone want this little bloke? He was just a tester and I don't have the AP to do anything with him, but maybe someone on here would have a use for him? I was trying to see what covering with a Selle did but I stuffed up and got a Lusi/Selle instead of a pure haha! Still got a bit of an idea though.

Event- maybe try a breed that's not as popular? Like maybe a highland or something? I bet they'd be a wicked breed only comper if breed with something with a large gp..

You'll be hard-pressed getting a cover from a Highland- I've tried and never got an answer from the player that has the top GP studs.

I'm tempted to do another Lusi/GV cross.
I've got all of the stuff that I'd need...hmm... my mom has a seminar to watch tomorrow, so maybe I could breed one tomorrow. I could finally get some use out of the five Hera's Packs that I won. default smiley (lol)

I'll just have to figure out what to do with the extra foals that I won't use. I'll need to BLUP a lusi mare, breed her a couple of times, then pick the best male/female and BLUP the male and skill the female.
I think that would be enough BLUPing/skilling for the month, eheh. default smiley (8)

Hi everyone -

I just thought I'd like to let you all know that I have a list of my multiple-breed crosses that can be found here, in my Fourty Four Faces forum thread, that include sales-purchased equines.

I also have the Fourty Four Faces affix that has other crossbreeds and multiple-breed crosses that may not be listed in the forum.

If there's anything I can do to help you with your breeding projects, let me know.

I also have a forum topic that lists all the breeds and their top three skills so you can compare breeds and decide whether you want similarly skilled breeds together, or differently skilled breeds. The easiest way to get there is follow the first link on this page and browse through the rest of my forum.

Cheers,
Hiems

Hi, I'm new here (used to play a lot years ago but the account is now deleted) and I was wondering how you top crossbreeders do it? It's always the same breed stallions that are the best on covering page. So all my horses would turn into KWPN eventually... How do you get higher GP horses of different breeds? Or are you not aiming for skills that high? Or is it about the 3 skills I chose to breed more? Sorry if this is in the wrong topic, I thought people here could explain it the best.

Welcome back!
Me personally, the breed(s) of choice depend on the project I'm doing. I had a project where I did want to get number 1 elite in a breed so I looked around team pages to see who offered top covers. Then I did some calculations to see what breeds I could use that would help my breed of choice have high enough stats to get elite. I didn't particularly care about the actual proportion of skills as I just aimed for total overall, but luckily the skill set was such that he turned into a nice comper.

Now, on most projects I do focus on the top 3 skills as I'd want to develop a comp specialized horse. However, even with that type of project I do still focus on what skill sets of other breeds I could use to get that horse ranked on its breeds rankings.

Long story short I think it just varies from players to player and the type of project they're wanting to dodefault smiley :)

So I posted my Quarter Pony baby on the previous page, but I never ended up skilling him. I ended up not liking the GA/HRay combination that I did, so I gave him to the gf. Instead I bred Goldenrod to a higher GP Quarter Pony twice more, and the result was even better!

I present to you Maestro!

Just waiting on a few more wins for him, but his rankings are awesome:

#1 QP overall
#1 QP in stamina
#1 QP in gallop
#2 GP in jumping
#1 QP in dressage

Also sorry for double post-

But would anyone happen to have a 4-way or a 5-way stud with over 6000 GP? Preferably with little or no KWPN...

Silly question, but are looking for an even 4 or 5way cross? I usually take "4-way" to mean "even" but just checking. I've got one I'm currently blupping that's got 4 breeds, though it's not an even cross, with 6200GP

ridiculously excited Anyone have any ideas what I could breed her with to have an exceptional foal? Hopefully a breed that doesn't include KWPN blood as she is barely a crossbreed after seven generations of breeding with mainly KWPNs default smiley xd
