Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

No problem. default smiley :)

If anyone else needs wins, let me know. I'll check if I have any fillers to use. ^.^

I probably have something to help fill comps too if needed! Except the comps i need of coursedefault smiley <:o)
I just bred this little beauty ... she and her twin turned out better than I was expecting, with the most IBS I've ever bred haha! The dad was a psh from the general coverings too... does anyone know if the PSH teams are cross-friendly? Would be awesome to re-breed with a higher gp stud!

You're welcome schmexy33!
It was a good thing Disco swooped in though as the rest of the Hunters I have that are comp eligible are from the dark ages and have GPs below 1000 so none of them have skills much higher than the foundy I first used.

lol dark age horses.

I don't even know half of what I have. I ended up using a GA named Widget...or maybe it was Gidget... and a male unicorn that I wish I knew I had before I spent a fortune on a covering for my female IH unicorn. default smiley xd
You heard it from the Crossbreeder's topic folks. Those "dark age," "Gidget/Widgets" and "unicorn-I-wish-I-knew-I-had" horses make the best fillers. They're available in a pinchdefault smiley (lol)

I would definitely check their team page to see if it says anything, and if not message one of the members! It never hurts to ask

Love the coat on that trake. I also love those quarter ponies, they always comped well for me.

Thank you! The moment I saw that coat I fell in love with it lol- From your experience, what comps are best for quarter pons?

Do you guys think breeding this little guy with a Peruvian Paso will make it suitable for a trot competition or is there something else I should try?

Also, does anyone have a TB/paint/QH mare that they're willing to give me a foal from?
I might BLUP him and aside from the Peruvian Paso (if it works) I might also want to make a gallop comper.
Yaay got a reply from the PSH team, they are cross friendly apparently default smiley :d

@julia: Would you mind telling me which one? I had to get a cover from the pic coverings for the foal above.
@chickennugget I contacted LisaM75 about her horses with the "Imperial Aftermath" affix... can't remember the teams name but knowing.me I would have picked the top person on the list default smiley :p

Resulting foal was AWESOME! Thrilled... when I get home so I'm not on my computer I'll post a link... very grateful for the teams who are cross friendly!

What would be a good breed for a Welsh cross?

It depends on what you want to get out of the cross.
