Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Keep in mind that skills of the parents have no effect on the foal. Only blup and GP matter for breeding. So even if you use a stallion with 8000 skills it won't produce as good a foal if it doesn't have high blup

I was curious, so I took the top 10 horse for each of those three breeds and plugged them in a spreadsheet and came out with this...you could either do low level cutting or make it a trot comper depending on what dominant breed the foal is. 960.04
stamina 960.04
speed 1238.77
dressage 1291.1525
gallop 955.695
trot 1333.7625
jump 947.34
total GP. 6726.77

It does look interesting. Tho there might be too much gallop and jumping :/ I suppose it could be worth a try.

Does anyone have a four way cross without any Lipi or KWPN in it that I could get a cover from? Anything over 5400 GP would be great, the higher the better.

In a week or so, I'll be able to reveal my newest cross. I've just been planning and collecting all the items I need, and contacting the top team for the breed. I can't wait!

Hey, question-- I just bred two crosses, but the foal wasn't exactly what I expected. default smiley (o) What determines the listed breed in a 50/50 cross? I just got an Arabian foal from breeding from parents that were each 50/50 Morgan/Arabian, and both had Morgan listed as their breed. What gives, lol?

[a href=https://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=49073997]Morab "Arabian" foal [/a]

Do I have to breed in some more Morgan to ensure that Morgan is the primary / listed breed on the foal's profile?

Thanks in advance for your help. default smiley ^)

Its always the second breed listed on the fathers page, which *should* usually be the dominant breed, but sometimes it gets mixed up.

Also would anyone be willing to fill irish only cross country comps for this horse? i want to get him blupped tonight so i can have his foal ready for the GA release tomorrow morning, but its not looking likely since the comps wont rundefault smiley :'(

Lots of themdefault smiley (lol)
Some aren't necessarily in the same order such as the Mustang and Marwari whose top skills are speed, stamina and gallop but the Marwari has better gallop I believe while the Mustang's best skill is speed.

Someone has posted a sheet listing the skill sets of each breed, but until then I would suggest going to the Horse directories and making a list yourself of the skill order of each breed. To follow up I would then list the comps and what breeds are specialized for that comp so you have a sheet handy all the time. Mine is a hard copy as I never transferred it to a word processing program or I'd just link you mine.

Innnnteresting... So if I'm thinking about it right, and if I didn't do anything different, the "primary" or listed breed would alternate with every generation? And/or I'd need to be sure to cover using a cross that's listed as an Arabian stallion (with 50% Morgan and 50% Arabian, in that order)?

How many have left to run, and are they just cross country comps? I entered on of my immortal AP hunters in all the comps I could find with your horse which was about 5, I think??

bibbs- I just counted and I believe there are 15 that need to run, however he only needs 9 more wins. Thanks for checking and entering, I so appreciate it!
Hmm, I'll keep checking with another horse. The one I used was a foundy so he might not have high enough stamina to see some of the comps you entered
