Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I personally find if you sort rosettes by difficulty with the most difficult at the top, they tend to show up. However, the way you are sorting the comps may not be the problem. Your mare has 2700 skills in speed (the sorting skill in gallop comps) and the horse with the most gallop skills on the game has just under 3600speed skills, this may mean that your mare does not have enough skills to see gallop rosette comps.

I would definitely try sorting by highest difficulty or highest kitty, they will give you the greatest chance of finding rosette comps default smiley :)
Does anyone know a nice Lusi mix for dressage comps? I have this girl: Luisiana Lucy. I'd rather not have a Friesian mix, or at least I don't want it to be Friesian dominant. default smiley 8-)

Thank you! default smiley (h)

I have a fairly high GP Gyspy Vanner, and I want to try crossbreeding. I'd like for the foal to do good in all comps... I was thinking a breed with the opposite skill set (Speed, gallop, trot) Lustiano's seem to be a good option. Thoroughbreds could also work if I could find one with a good trot.

Here's my GV: https://www.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=54103355

What do you guys think?

^^still trying to find a breed that would be good. If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
Thanks!

lusis have low speed though...I think speed might be their lowest

Thoroughbreds have low trot as well. None of the breeds have the skill set you're looking for unless you use a cross bred to pair with your Gypsy.

The closest skill design I would recommend that's good "in all comps" is to breed something with a stamina, speed, dressage set. There are a couple purebreds with that, but the right cross works great too. That way you can either do low level pleasure or reining comps for western, or trot, gallop and jump comps for classical.

I know it sucks because there isn't a breed with that skill set. I've found a few horses that are decent in speed, gallop and trot but I will try your suggestions.
Thank you guys!default smiley :)
Hey doods!

I made a set of North Dakota Badland Horses for fun recently. They did really well in the Nokota boards (gallop, speed, stamina). Just want to share and show off a little. default smiley ;)

Anpo Wicapi (11450.62) Stallion
Nokota x Arabian
#1 Stamina in Nokotas

Cante Tinza (11281.23) Stallion
Nokota x (Arabian / QH)

Tate Hecetu Welo (11115.85) Mare
Nokota x Mustang
#1 Speed in Nokotas

Heart That is True (11092.51) Mare
50% Nokota, 25% Mustang, 12.5% Arabian, 12.5% QH

Makawee Enapay (11030.13) Mare
Nokota x QH
#1 Gallop in Nokotas

Would be happy to offer limited covers to anyone else seriously considering trying them out. The NBDH project was introduced to me by Khaotic Rain. Would be fun to see some more folks play with them too. Thanks guys!

I've mostly been breeding Selle x KWPNs recently and they've been turning out just great, but I wanted to branch out a little more.

I just got my hands on a high GP Vanner [url=https://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=54189625]Melancholy Hill/url] and wanted to know if anyone knew some really powerful crosses for Vanners?

Anyone on here breeding 50/50 prestige Appendix horses? (QH/TB) I'm starting to pick up my program but want to start a group maybe?default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 12th November 2017 20:48:59

I like TB dominant TB/lusi crosses.

I am! Here is my affix for them: ☰Aρρєndix ★ QH☰

And my latest Appendix: Dash'd on the Rocks (12086.40 skills). Happy to provide you a cover, if interested. I alternate from one set of crosses to another, so might not play with an Appendix group regularly, but would still be interested in it.

I' started with a Arabian and crossed with an Al Teke. The colt I got out of it is way better then his parents but i'm trying to improve it. The trot is noticeable the worst, has 543 excellence stars.
Trying to improve the bloodline but I can't decide what breed next and how to get her cheap. He's still young but I hope to find a mare, maybe a hybrid herself that will have a better foal. Also I don't get why in the game when u get hybrids in real life u can tell but in the game it doesn't say and al teke have metallic coats.
is there somewhere I can point that out to the creators ?
You could try Contact Us.

Trying a Marwari/Gypsy Vanner cross out of curiosity. Wondering how the foal will turn out. . .

Was not expecting the foal to be this good! Quite happy with the result, though I don't know if I'll keep her, since her dam wasn't at full blup. Which I am in the process of fixing - just don't want to blow through all my aging points in one go.

When your 3000 GP cross you bred way back in 2014 is still kicking butt in the competitions. I am so happy I made this girl imortal.

I checked on my stallion Champion and it mentioned in the breeding fort 3 pending's. i'm guessing he was used for stud work but I did not see any money coming in. and another question when the foals are born will they be listed in his family tree ?
kinda curious about how they will turn out
By Retired breeder, 16th November 2017 19:35:38
wow, nice foal TMRC
I haven't been crossing lately, because I still have most likely 30-40 cross mares (2 pures) for custom foals nobody's asking for lol but, I did finish a pure Crio stud if one's needed.(7800ish)

Finished wins on a Gyp cross stud though, so next week I'm breeding for a bunch of my secret 4 way cross project foals. I'll show them off when they're born in a week or so. Just 1 more set to go before I can start the next gen! I'm so excited....maybe...a lot...plus, I'm hyper!

With that said...I hope sometime next month? to get out some QH crosses. I need to get their wins yet, but the internet is super fast today so I'm taking advantage of that later.

Hey everyone! I'm new here, well, back from a reallyyyy long hiatus. Back when we had the old artwork. I had a couple questions and was hoping I could get some help. default smiley ^)

So, I bought the beginner pass offer plus a couple extra to help boost me back into everything, since I have no patience default smiley (lol) I have my 2 beginner mares, Soleil; my Arabian, and Lumiere; my Thoroughbred. And I also bought 3 other mare's that would hopefully boost my EC since they have high GP's and Skills. Their also crossbreds, which I *love* default smiley (l)

My question is, is it worth cross breeding my 2 beginner mare's? Just because their GP is so low. I know breeding to a stud with higher GP will bring it up, but would they do good in competitions and win against other horses? Since I know they'll be going against much higher GP's... correct? Of course they'll be fully trained and 100 BLUP before breeding like I said above default smiley ;)

Or, would it be better to get a higher GP purebred, then start my crossbreeding from there? Either way, I'm planning on fully training Soleil and Lumiere and keeping them, just wasn't sure if it would be worth it to cross them. Like I said, I've been away for a while and wasn't sure if things like that were the same or not.

If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it! default smiley (l) Also, I'm trying to make my EC rating high. I forgot to reserve my only box, so I'm waiting on the current boarder's stay to end so I can put one of my high skill mare's in to help. Anyone have a forum with tips/tricks/help on raising it? Especially for those darn competitions default smiley :'(

Sorry for such a long post! And I cant remember how to link my horses, so I'm sorry if anyone is having to go to my page to view them. default smiley :-x
