Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Lovely skill set there! That trot though default smiley :-))
Personally, I'd BLUP her and cross her with some gallop dominant breeds to see if I could achieve something similar to this cross.
Or try to use a Selle or KWPN stud on her when she's done. That would be interesting. default smiley (y)

My next breeder. Hoping this girl help level out the skills the way I want them too with my next cross.

And I have a pure Lusitano mare if anyone wants a foal fro her. Just drop me a PM. (To view her, she's the mom to the the one linked above ^default smiley ^)
Latest cross - IBS is off the scale with this one!!

Sorry....It'll be gelded and skilled for the knab boards.

Getting closer to my goal! Still wish I could get that darned Stamina to drop lol
I have hard time getting people to accept my pure stallion covers--even with having every breed on the game. default smiley :( I've literally been avoiding putting up covers for my crosses and mixes. I've got some strange crosses and mixes. default smiley (lol)

Does anyone have any suggestions for good breeds to cross with Marwaris for Reining Comps?

Lipizzanerss are the dominant reining breed, but trying to get high GP covers is mostly a no go. I've bred a Gypsy Vanner x TB cross and entered it in the Prix before and got top 100.

Try doing some calculations with the genetics available to you to see which would be best. Try a Lipizzan first, or even a straight Gypsy Vanner x Marwari cross since GVs usually have top public covers and you'd increase stamina a little and dressage a lot that way, though gallop would drop a bit.

https://www.howrse.com/elevage/fiche/?id=53771834]50/50 Paint Horse+TB[/url]. Was initially a bit surprised at this girl's skills, but I am not complaining! I have a feeling she'll be acing Gallop comps. . .

I love my new Stud! he is a Shetland x Marwari should I stud him out and get him all skilled up?

Is a Spanish Mare a good cross with a Marwari to get a nice Dressage horse?

Putting covers out does not gain training skills.

I know, I was wondering if that makes his covering more money is he is skilled up? This is him, can u let me know what u think? https://www.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=53781694

Only Blup and GP of the parents matter when breeding. Skills of the parents have no effect on the foal.

To Blup a horse you need to:
-bold its top 3 skills (complete all training, rides and competitions until no more skills are gained in those areas)
-win 20 competitions
-get the horse to at least 10 years old.
Your horse's top 3 skills look to be stamina, dressage and gallop so you'll want to focus on those skills.

Section 4 of the Breeder's Manual talks about genetics and breeding as welldefault smiley :)

I hate crossbreeding but I finally bred a mustang due to my careless crossbreeding and I made it a pegasus! Never again doubt the power of cross breeding!!

Interesting cross!
One of the things I've found very helpful is to ask in the Blupping info and help forum for specific skill set BLUP schedules if you are stuck on how to BLUP a cross. default smiley ;)
