Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Clematis did darn well to blup around my cross today. I salute her....she was using a different affix that I am used to....it took me ages to realise it was her horse - sorry hun!

Just totalled the wins up and my little lass is on 240. would be 260+ by now if I hadn't had a run in with that player default smiley :s

I just bred two crosses today. One is a Paint/Arab and the other is a Thorough/Hano.

Their names are Finana and Sarafiana.

Woo! My little lady just got her 100th win in trot!
I trained one of my Arab/STB twins yesterday and it's #1 in Trot skills for Arabs!

Numbah 1 in Trot

Funny how he's got monster trot for arabs yet all his wins are in Gallop and jump. That's because I bolded trot early and he hadn't accumulated all the trot skills yet to beat the other arabs. That's ok, I'll enter him in trot races later for the wins.

Next on my list to train is my Paso/STB/IH foal. Even before clouding, this foal will make #1 on the Paso skills board. I think I would rather bolt and use for breeding tho.

Ummm...hate to break up the congratulate-yourself party -- but really, bridget-xxx anyone can undertrain a horse to rake in the wins. No glory there and it gives cross-breeding a less-than-stellar name.

Maybe when you finish training it, and still win lots, THEN I would consider it a success.
Personally I know that most of my crosses would crush the competition like her little cross lol and to me, if someone breeds a horse specifically for wins/winning rankings then there is nothing wrong with that. Her goal is for 500 wins on that horse, let her ride her thunder until then default smiley ;)

Hi everyone! Just recently started working into the whole crossbreeding thing myself. I am trying to find a really nice high end Connie cross with absolutely no Irish hunter in it. Preferably arab/connie cross mare or a freisian/connie cross. If anyone has something along those lines they would be willing to sell or breed a foal from for me please by all means let me know.

Seriously? Wow..this brings the game to all new lows.....

I am of the understanding that the point of creating a good competition horse is to show some knowledge of the genetics and how to effectively train one -- not slap together a mix and stampede over lowbie bluppers and maybe even, dare I say it, -- NIBs and foundations? Anyone with half a brain cell can do that.

yeah, ride that thunder but don't expect accolades for your success when all you've done is NOT train one.
default smiley (o) Who says she is entering competitions with horses in them.....Remember that I am a NIBer too and I understand the difficulty of it but I also respect the new ways players come up with to earn themselves a decent horse. Horses are *bred* to compete and *trained* for competition. Most obviously her horse is *trained* to *compete* if she is *winning*

Just IMO though.....(c)
