What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I fully bold my Foundies, and do a lesson every day, and my EC has 60e lessons. I also have 2 browsers and an ipad, and the use of friends fillers, so I get wins easily lol Thus why I offered to help blup tons. Not sure when I'll next blup, but I get about 24 done a week when I am blupping. But, if I am ever needed to fill, all ya gotta do is ask.

Asfridur he doesn't have active comps right now but the only ones I tend to find are in breed only

The all breeds never seem to have any comps that are empty or just one in them that he can beat with his stats as low as they are. Thinking I will use my AP and get his training done and then that will give me more classes that he would fit in and can win.

Keepsake I have one friend and we co-manage each others accounts so it gives me access to her fillers and mine. Still leaves me one short though for a full comp so I might have to take you up on that in the future.

What has worked so fa was finding comps where the horses had died while waiting for them to run ( I guess you automatically beat a horse in heaven or safe haven) or a horse that is lower level that has entered a class and then using my comp horse and three fillers.

Yup one at a time slowly but surely I lucked onto finding a bunch of classes that had a dead horse in it who had been sent to heaven but he still holds the place so I could use him has a filler for my comp horse and use my comanaged barn for more fillers default smiley ;) it worked out pretty well wish they were all that easy

Okay bred Nazir and Sprite together very similar
gp 361 for Nazir and 356 for Sprite

This was the foal we got

Scheherazade

One excellence star and 433.63 for GP

Does it seem weird that the GP gain for a first generation foal would produce two excellence stars and higher GP than a second generation?

Here is the one I bred on the 7th

American Made

2 excellence stars and 440.21 in GP

I'm not sure I understand this new system?

The gain you get also depends on just how many other foals are born of your breed.

I haven't bred any horses with the new change yet. But before the change the GP was all over the place. Has been since we got rolling gains.
Heck even horses bred at full BLUP would deliver a foal that had lower GP than one from non 100% stock.

Wow that's just crazy well there are lots of Arabians on the game so maybe that's part of my problem. Not a huge issue because I will still work the foals and it's a gain even though it's a weird one so it gets me a little higher. But after reading the description of the changes I assumed that with two blupped parents that were first gens with decent gains the baby would give a gain higher than two foundie parents with not much for gp gains.

I try to breed my horses once they get to 100 Blup and I usually only breed them once for me. Is there much variance between foals from the same parents?

The other unreal thing was the 2100 cover charge for using my own stud with my own mare that just doesn't seem right.

If he's an 'original' (350 GP) foundie, maxed out skills is a good thing! Even the lowest level comps can be accessed by horses with more skills than our old foundies can achieve.

In general - you want to add all the bonuses you can get, then look for rookie comps sorted by difficulty so you get the easiest ones you can. Fillers help. If the comps aren't empty, take the time to check the skills of horses already entered to make sure you're not "in against a buzzsaw", as they say on the racetrack.

Posting a link to the horse might help the folks here offer more specific advice. Good luck!

I agree with what Misabel said above I have noticed since coming back and comping my foundation horses that there are a few things you need to do to be successful

1. Complete all rides and training plus games if you can before comping

2. Add tack and protection and bonuses that you can get from the store to help you with added points towards your skills.

3. Find one or two other people you can compete with who have horses lower than your foundie.

What you do is pick the competitions you want to enter and enter your horse then add fillers (horses whose skills are lower than the one you want to get wins for)

Check the horses on any competitions you enter that are not empty and make sure their skills are lower than the horse you want to win.

If you can post your horse on the chat we can definitely get more specific but this is what I do with all my NIB horses not just my foundies.

I am starting NIB Quarter Horses and I was hoping to use him as one of my studs, but he doesn't have the 20 wins to have 100 BLUP. (I do know how to blup them from scratch)

Well, he's a rolling gain foundie, so that's good. He's earned some placings with very few bonus points - so if you load him up with bonus items, it may just be enough, as long as you choose comps carefully. He at least needs a tack upgrade.

I work TBs, which have a similar skill set, and I've had good luck in all-breed dressage comps. Train up his gallop, which you'll need anyway, and maybe throw in some trot training if you have the time.
