It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Hello everyone!
after taking a break from the game i have decided to return and for the first time ever breed NIB! my breed of choice at the moment are quarter horses. I'm wondering if their are any groups out there who are taking on new members? not necessarily as breeding partners but to discuss things with, i'm new to trying the NIB thing so i'm really just looking for someone who would be willing to answer any questions i may have along the way default smiley :)

Just bred my first NIB foal! I'm really glad they changed things up with the foundies giving them higher gp. First foal and im already at 283* default smiley :-))
For all you NIB breeders out there I have a method to search for rolling gain foundations. If you are looking for foals, search for 0 skills (for under 8 months old), purebred, and GP's of over 2500 and a maximum of the price you are willing to pay for them. If you're searching for adults, search for purebreds with GP's of over 2500 and the maximum price you want to pay. I use this quite a bit and I recently have gotten some foundation foals for under 4000e. Hope this helps anybody searching for RG foundies!

This sounds like a fun challenge! Going to start playing with this with free time!

Though I have a question or two.
Is there a list someone in this topic with the highest GP for each breed so far?
Or is the list on the original post updated every so often?

Hello. I am not new to howrse but my account is new and i wanna try to breed fjords for cuting and then get some paints for berral racing.

I have bred horses before specifically to not be inbred but i never looked into their entire ancectory to prove it. Now i want to get true non inbred horses.

I currently have 2 starter fjords at 6 months. What is the best schedule to get them al the way up to breeding age (10 years)

For when i stary the paint lines what is the best schedule for them. And who is willing to sell a pair of paint horses to help me get started?

I am not breeding to compete against other breeders. Only to make my own horses good in comps. I do not strive to be the best.
Okay been gone for like forever and everyone has been busy. Trying to come back and start off where I left off with my horses what has changed for competing with NIB arabs since I've been gone?

I noticed there is a check box so you can choose types of comps now is that any help?

Oh Rowen - a lot has chanced. Their GPs are now rolling gain and its made comps nearly impossible for me to do with these low gen and foundies
I'm slowly getting to terms with the fact that 100% BLUP is impossible on the low GP NIB's. Even with a filler and a ton of BM items it's becoming more and more impossible. You need friends to fill all other empty spots in the comp to win it now.
It's is so very frustrating, so I'm leaning towards finally accepting that 100% BLUP is only doable on the rolling gains, and even those can be a challenge from time to time.

Still I refuse to abandon my 350 GP projects. I just have to accept I cannot take them all to 100 any more. It's sad but there it is.

It sounds like maybe we need to work together so we can have enough horses to fill the class so our horses have a fighting chance. I am still getting wins with my first second and third gens but it's much harder with the foundies. My stock was bred three years ago so I'm a little behind where everyone else is breeding wise but I don't want to give up on them.

We used to do Comping together in groups does anyone still do that?

If so I would be interested in helping. I have a huge barn of horses that can be fillers if needed

The horse I'm working now is two wins away from being 100 BLUP so I still have hope it will happen

I think we are going to have to go that route to make it work. I keep getting seconds and thirds but not getting firsts

So close I have 5 at 100 BLUP but they haven't been bred yet need some males for my females probably going to have to use a bolt to even things up.
