The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Wow are there not many people breeding NIB arabs anymore. I am running GP levels in the 390's range and the top is only 425ish that seems unreal seeing the other breeds totals is there higher than that that just hasn't been posted?

So I saw a few pages back that people are working on a group NIB breeding project and are looking for horses. I have a large barn full of Arabians with varying levels and am comping my first 1 star babies right now. I can breed babies to add to the project if you want. Just let me know which horses from my elite barn you are interested in. All are NIB since that's all I do.

So, I have two 'new' foundie Gypsy Vanners (a stallion and a mare) whom I am working on BLUPPing. I am wondering if they can be considered for NIB breeding, as they have higher GP than the original foundies but both of them are sired by Ouranos and Gaia? Particularly interested regarding the stallion, as I was hoping to stud him out but he is obviously way behind the top GP for Gypsies? Neither are ready for breeding yet (I prefer to get to 100 BLUP before I start) but I was curious to what the NIB community though to them?

Don't blame the mods for the list not being up-to-date - that's all on me. I'm the one who checks the pedigrees, then lets the mod know. But between some gnarly computer issues and getting flat-out slammed with work and other RL stuff, I haven't had a chance to check in for a while. I'll try to get on that tonight.

I hadn't even posted this guy, who was produced over a month ago:

Rowen, even before my computer went south I don't recall seeing much activity with Arabs. You should be able to catch up quickly - the trickle-down effects of rolling gain mean huge GP jumps at lower levels. Because of this, I'm of the opinion that GP is no longer an accurate measure of NIB progress (especially for those working with rolling gain foundies - unless they work crazy-fast, every 1st gen they breed will be the new 'top GP'), but the rankings are still being kept up for the time being.

I had one bred foal I bred right after I came back and it had 396 as a first gen which is pretty amazing and one star. Mom and dad were pretty amazing too but I thought it was a little excessive.

Is the rolling gains going to be added to our NIB foals as well or is it just new horses who get this feature?

Welcome back Rowen.

Any offspring no matter the GP of the studs, get way higher GP gain, than they did before. All due to the rolling gain feature. The gain is higher on lower GP's than on the top horses on the game.
How ever we're going to get a BLUP change shortly. If your horses aren't BLUP'ed to 100% the gain will be less than it is now.

On prepod players tested the feature to see the difference in GP. You can find more info buried somewhere in the spoiler section. Sorry I cannot be more specific. Any ways there is a chart in the spoiler below (forgot who made it I'm afraid).

eriathwen, I would be interested in joining the discord server.

If anyone needs filling right now (for the next few hours at least), I will be around and have fillers that need to stretch their legs default smiley ;) Also have a few horses I wouldn't mind putting a few wins on.

Glad many of you seem to be progressing. I have been mostly working with my rolling gain foundies, for fun, and boy are they fun! But I think I need to pay attention to my original foundies right now in anticipation for the changes.

I have no problem filling, I most likely have somewhere between 300-500 fillers...I don't intend to count them. I have maybe 5 diff. filler barns. I'll also be back to blupping my own Tues. night. I'm way behind...I get about 24 done a week. When I'm all caught up, I can blup any and all foundies folks have sitting around that they can't get to default smiley :p

Sounds good eriathwen I downloaded it last night. It will come in handy for things like comping together and breeding projects. So much easier to talk than to type lol.

So correct me if I'm wrong.
I've been back a short amount of time and have been playing with competitions
This is what I've learned so far:

1. The box at the top of comps if you check it once it gives you only rookie comps
if you put an X in it it gives you only non rookie comps if you leave it blank you get both.

2. At least for Arabs which is what I run it seems that if I want to comp my NIB horses I need to run with breed specific classes since those are the only ones I can get that are empty and that you have to run with fillers from yourself and at least two others in order to make it work.

3. While the gains for getting to 100 BLUP are better than they were before the rolling gains was added. They are going to be decreasing the GP given to non blupped babies which basically means that the only way we can do well is to comp with fillers and get as many 100 BLUP horses as possible so we have enough breeding stock to continue breeding and eventually getting higher statted horses.

Sounds like fun I'm in.

As I said before anyone who is doing Arabians: I have quite a large 100% NIB no disappeared horses Elite Barn and I would definitely be willing to breed babies to help out others breeding projects. Even if I stop playing for a while which might happen since RL happens I always log in every few weeks just to keep the account from disappearing so there are no worries my lines will disappear ever unless the game does.

Also if any Arabian Breeders need fillers I have Arabs that can help out in my pass barn. I have many other breeds as well so can probably help no matter what you want to blup lol. I would definitely be willing to work with others and set up times to fill comps for people and have mine filled as needed. Just hit me up.

Happy Howrsing!!

Sounds about right to me Rowen. I know for me with Holsties, it is easier for me to do group filling in open comps. Not many low level Holsties lying in barns sometimes haha. But there does tend to be lower level horses in breed only comps.

Yeah I was able to get into 3 or 4 comps where the rest of the horses were lower level but then I worry it's you guys so I hesitate to do that cause I worry I'm stealing wins from other NIB horses.

I found going to breed specific and then going to the shorter amount of miles for example.

Rookie comp

0.12 miles and then looking for the lowest difficulty I can do under that pretty much assures the big gun horses aren't going to be in it even if they are still Rookies.

Of course the one problem with that is the one I just ran into. I loaded into those comps and sat in them for over 2 weeks without them ever running, because there's never any horses to run in it lol. Since you can only put two horses in each comp you really need to be on and have two other people on with the same breed horses as you that can fill your comps behind your competition horse and that will assure you get the wins you need.

Okay I had a few Foundies I hadn't bred yet so I bred them last night and this morning and this is what I got.

First Breeding

Sire: {100 Foundation }
Dam: 0BPFM~ Bewitched
Both parents had 350.00 and 350.06 respectively

Foal is female; Tabitha and has 428.15 for GP and two excellence stars

Second Breeding

Sire: F~Yankee Trader!
Dam: *{ bRaschida }

Both parents had 350.28 and 350.96 respectively.

Foal is male; American Made with 440.21 GP and two excellence stars

Third Breeding

Sire: F~ Red Inferno!
Dam: F~Amelia

Both parents had 350.88 and 350.00 repsectively

Foal is male; Cyclone and was born with 428.94 and two excellence stars.

Wow this is just unreal! So there is definitely some drop in GP based on the GP levels of the parents.

Yikes not a nice drop there.
But it was to be expected.

I have some uber broken foundie Shagya I have picked up over several months. I will not be pulling my hair out trying to take them to 100. Heck some of them barely have 300 in skills with all of the skills bolded.... so their just used to get some 1st gens, taking me closer to my goal of having 200 first gens.

Foundie wise - Spyder is selling both old GP and rolling GP foundies.
Grabbed all her Drums - sorry all default smiley (lol)
As well as several other breeds....including a Canadian and a Don non horn default smiley (l)

I figure even if I can't get my old style foundies with 350.00 100% blupped I can still use them to make first gens and then get those 100%blupped.

I was able to get 9 wins on my first Gen Nazir so he is up to 12 wins total currently.

I do have a question.

When you compete with your lower level horses do you still use the old style formula and leave their skills untrained until after wins or do you train to get them up as high as you can before competing them?

I am currently at odds with what to do. I have still a lot of low level horses to blup but it seems like it would work better to train completely first and then enter comps with them fully trained rather than only doing rides and saving the training for afterwards.

I usually start comping when I have two skills fully trained. It has mostly just been for bolding though. I have had a few rare wins that way though. That works for my 350 gp Holsties, but my Marwari's seem to need top three skills done before they pull wins. Try a few different ways, see what works for the Arabs.

If anyone needs fillers, I will be around most of today. I will also be comping, if anyone wants to work a few AP/pass horses. Generally enter into open comps.

I'm at work until this evening will be on off and on depending on how busy it is but you can definitely shoot me a message if you need fillers default smiley ;)

I can only find comps I can enter with my arabs in the arab only comps because there are never any open or even with only one or two entrants in the all breeds showing for me and my skills on my comp horses are way low. That's why I was thinking of training all my skills first and then competing to give them higher skills and more of a chance at wins.

This is Nazir the horse I'm comping right now for reference

UGH not liking to see a BLUP that had 89% a few days ago reduced to 63+.
But it's the new normal, so I need to get used to it.

Nice going on the BLUP Rowen. Trying to see if I can find it and help out with fillers. Have you entered it in breed only comps?
