It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Yay mine was the 1400th post.

I am still looking for 4 more outside NIB mares for my stud Tikki Tech. He is taking on any NIB of any generation or breed but only for the next 4 horses (one of the 5 was already taken). Coverings are 500e and should produce some nice foals even without tears default smiley (y).

He is still really high up in popularity, 8th in arabians and 18th in overall! Yesterday it was 5th in arabians and 11th overall default smiley ;)

Forest Queen, since you asked, I have a fully blupped 351.20GP Foundie Arab stallion that's available for coverings. I would sell him but I am afraid I cannot, I am holding onto him for a friend who quit, in case she comes back and wants him again (same with a few of the Friesians I have). Thanks for pointing me in his direction but it looks like I already have 2 354 fillies from that stallion. Now that I think of it I am off to place one in sales default smiley (lol) I try to only have one of each crossing.

If you're posting wanted ads, that's totally fine default smiley :) I also won't be snitty if somebody posts a reply as I did: If somebody has posted they're looking for something, you leave them a note saying you have it. the wheeling and dealing should be taken to PM after that post though default smiley ;)

I am starting a new Breeding Farm for NIB Newfoundland Ponies. My first 1G foal is at 355.77, which imo is pretty good. I am currently blupping, but I am going to take my time to make sure that she gets her 20 wins.

I signed up on the NIBlist, but I didn't think I would get in, since the page mentioned something about owning horses that are inbred? Can anyone verify this?

One last question, who can I contact about my login/password info on the NIB site? I have an account, but never heard from anyone after i signed up, and now I can't remember >.<

I am fairly new to this, so how would/is it be counted? I suppose it does make sense that foundation horse would be considered First Gen, and then their offspring would count down from there.

That is how I count Foayasha but others count foundation-1g-2g and so on. Mine is foundation-2g-3g and so one default smiley (lol) That is how I have counted it since 2007 soooo...default smiley *-)

I've been breeding NIBs since shortly after I first started playing on Howrse, so for about the past 2 and a half years I've been almost exclusively NIB breeding. All i can tell you is how the NIBers I associated with and I called them, and how to this day I still refer to them to myself (though I have changed how I refer to my NIB generations depending on who I am talking to and how I know they define their NIBs).

Horses with Ouranos and Gaia parents: Foundation
Horses with Foundations for parents: First Gen
Horses with Foundations for grandparents: Second Gen
Horses with Foundations as great-grandparents: Third Gen

After that I stop counting default smiley ;)

Now, if I breed, say, a First Gen to 2nd Gen, I generally call the foal a Second & Third Gen both; however, I've been toying with the idea of new terms for these foals, such as "Second Gen Once Removed", which would mean the horse comes from a cross of First Gen and Second Gen.

Now this is just what I personally do, though I am all-for the idea of having a definition for each generation set down to post in this topic, so everybody is on the same page default smiley :)

I personally use the same definitions for gens as Rivenwood, and my affixes reflect this, currently up to 5G. If i have mixed gens i use my general affix of Kirkmichael NIB, although i do rarely mix gens default smiley :)

I've noticed that a lot more of you are in need of foundations and various NIB generations. I do have a topic in my EC forum called Foundation Finder. It is exactly what it sounds like. So far I've gotten many Paints, Peruvian Pasos, Morgans, and Brumbies for other players. If you need help finding foundations, just post there.default smiley ;)
