What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Ive been breeding Appy for a long time and am begining to have difficulting finding stallions. If anyone has a foundation Appy stallion with 100 BLUP that they are breeding will you please PM me.

My habit is soooooo expensive lol. My equus fluctuates so much haha just yesterday I was at 140k and then today down to 30k and now back up to 70k with almost 70k worth of BM trades to do tomorrow evening default smiley :p

I see that a lot of you are looking for Foundations. If you look at my EC forum there is a topis called "Foundation Finder" It's a program I run to help find or produce (with Gaia Stone) foundation horses for people who don't have time to do it themselves. If you need help with finding Foundies I do usually keep a decent stock of them if you don't want to wait. I always sell them for less than 100e over the price I buy them for. Hello livelyblueyes.

I noticed you have a connemara named Nicodemis in the private sales listed as NIB. Both of Nicodemis' grandparents on his father's side ~ Nightmare ~ has disappeared and can no longer be considered NIB.

This is what I was trying to explain earlier about the horses disappearing. NIB breeders who try to use Nicodemis for breeding purposes will also have their line considered to be inbred by other NIB breeders. I came across Nicodemis trying to find NIB horses for my stock to use. He is a beautiful connemara and I love his 5th element coat. It's too bad both of his grandparents have disappeared.

Howrse is not set up for NIB breeders right now. The only way you can be assured of having a complete NIB line is to buy your own horses from the foundation and do the coverings yourself from your own stock or if howrse will ever arrange it so that when a person leaves his horses will be left behind along with their history.

p.s. I meant that in a kind way about your horse livelyblueyes. As I have said before, I have disappeared horses in my line, too. I agree with you about if you like your horses you should keep them. That's what I intend to do with mine. I just won't be selling any foals to others from that particular line. I also buy inbred horses to help with my ec prestige and to make money for my NIB's. lol. This is a game of fun and it should stay that way for everyone.

Storms Ransome. If you're happy with focusing on appy's alone that's okay or if you enjoy working with different breeds that's okay too. It really depends on what you enjoy. It probably would be easier to focus on one breed though.

Someone asked earlier how many game hours it took in foal gaming. All horses gain the maximum of 1.20 gp gains in their foal games. For every hour they play they gain .02 gp.

It works out to be 60 hours of game play from 8 - 18 months .

I am looking for some foundation Hanoverians with gp 351.18 or higher. Please pm me if you have any or know of someone selling them.

I'm glad we have a place to get together like this. This is a great idea.

No offense is taken Ardenia but I cannot find the horse you are speaking of. I have gone through every one of my NIB affixes and have not seen the horse you are talking about. The closest I found was a 5th fire element named major who was sold wayy more than 30 days ago, back when I first started NIBing.
Please do not take that as offensive or me being defensive. I do make it a habit to try and find those horses with my affix if they have a disappeared parent and change the affix out. ( I also really do buy back horses I sell should a parent disappear) Any chance you can hit me with a link to the horses page?

I saw the horse in the sales earlier - here. He was bred by livelyblueyes but is owned and being sold by someone else, and is affixless.

Yes, he is bred by me but he is not being sold by me.
Unfortunately I have no control on how others advertise horses. If a horse is bred by me and doesn't carry one of my NIB affixes then either it is missing a parent somewhere or it is inbred.
( in his case yes he was NIB however, I removed his affix for the very fact that he was missing geneolgy and when I sold him he was not listed as NIB)
