It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I'm thinking about giving up on this. I can't get any of my Foundationd to 20 wins. I guess that none of them will be 100 BLUP in the future.default smiley :( Maybe NIB wasn't right for me because I don't have passes or BM items.

vag111 dont give up..that is why we are here..to help you out..let us take a look and see what we can do for you before you decide to give up..there is lots of us that have training methods to be able to get you to the top no worries there..remember you are just competeing against your own self never mind how else everyone else is doing..it is supposed to be a fun game not a frustrating one..default smiley :)

have you completed your training in your stamina as in long distance galloping in your rides...and if you do some competitions in Xcountry at the very lowest percentile you should be able to get some wins there you only need 5 more wins..you are doing Great keep up the good work

vag111 - I use the following formula for getting the wins with foundies that already have some training:

-bold speed and dressage (which you have done)
-finish show jumping competitions, entering the lowest level ones possible
-bold jumping
-finish cross country competitions, entering the lowest level ones possible
-bold stamina
-finish trotting and gallop rides, entering lowest difficulty possible

After this point, I usually enter low level jumping or cross country with fillers to get the last few.

Storms: I have never placed a horse in SH, and I can guarantee that they will live out their lives. They will possibly be used as pass horses, if I need them, or if I do decide to sell them on, they will go to another NIB Morgan breeder.

Yankee Lady: I've had all sorts of horses over my time playing on here. I have a good training program that I use and I have no problems using WOY to its full. I plan to use it in coalition to a Nyx pack anyway.

As I'm going to be working at my own rate, I personally have no problem with this. I just want to experiment to see how many skills a Foudation can get when its treated the same as a top GP horse. I do not plan on doing this with all of my horses, just on the one.

vag111: Let me know when you want to put some of your foundations in XC. I have two fillers ready and waiting for the lower end competitions (8-12% level).

You can tell your horse is NIB if it has no duplicate ancestors(besides gaia and ouranos of course).

I could use some fillers for wins. Thanks for everyone offering. I just got a 16th win. Still need 4 more, but it's a start! always - I might try your technique on some of my other Brumbies. Just letting everyone know that I am looking for Chronos Timers. My selection of BM items isn't great, but I will be able to pay you back after two weeks with others worth 1 pass.

I do have a question though - What makes a good filler horse? I'm trying to find some to get me some wins, but I don't know how to train them specifially for filling comps. If anyone could tell me it would be appreciated.

I'm also looking for a NIB Brumby breeding partner. If anyone is interested in joing me, let me know. Thanks everyone!

I am very excited about this forum. I have been interested in NIB breeding since I started this game. I breed Quarter Horses, both Inbred and non-inbred. I currently have about 11 foundation Quarter Horses and 1 second generation stallion. Some have high GP for foundies and one has 20 comps won and is immortal. I don't use aging points very often so my breeding production is really slow. default smiley :)

vag111 - for filler horses, what I do is get a horse with the same skill level as my horse, but with little or no dressage and speed training done. This will make the horse be able to enter the same shows, but without the dressage and speed it won't win against your horse.

Lively I really don't know how to thank you for all you have done. I am keeping an eye open for some Connies for you default smiley ;) As well as stallions. I don't know how to thank you for helping me figure out what breeds to go with default smiley ;)

As for Starting Right, thank you for your willingness to help me figure out what to do and that you were willing to hold any horses that I was wanting to keep, if I started over.

I've just had a look at all of my Morgans and counted them. I have 83 in total that will be for breeding, 4 done and 70 foals that need to be gamed. Plus 27 backups who don't have full gain and will be backups in case I run out of horses to breed together. I think it's definitely going to take me a few months to get them all BLUPped and ready for breeding. Although I am tempted to breed Freestyle with my three studs who are fully BLUPped to see who will produce the best gain.

Yep, I am also on Caballow, under the same name, attempting to breed NIB Friesians, and possibly Hanoverians as well. Although most of my work goes on my unis... they take so much time and passes default smiley (lol)

And now I'm down to 10k, this time last month I had 200k+. default smiley *-)
