It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.
Otherwise, you may use this topic to help others learn about NIBs, share your experience, and find friends that breed NIBs default smiley :)

Please do not use this topic for advertising horses for sale.

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I get my wins super fast because I have 2 browsers, and an ipad. Plus, 3 diff. accts on co-man that I use fillers ondefault smiley :) I work 6 bluppers at a time, 5 comps a day + 60e lessons. Once I finish them, I take a day off, then start another group. I'm just doing sale horses right now, so I have no problem taking in anything temporarily to comp. Or even fill. I finish a group today in fact.

OK, I'm ready for the next question lol

An heads up from me default smiley :-x
Currently struggling with a level 3 Disc Protrusion. So I am not online very much right now. In too much pain. But gonna try and check a few threads now and then. More than doubtful I will work a lot of horses though. So my little pixels are on semi vacation

Feel better Asfridur!
I hope you find relief soon Asfridur! I'm having spinal fusion (L4-S1) on May 19th. I feel you on the back issues default smiley :'(

keepsake, I second what Asfridur said lol.

I was taking a little break from my NIB Hano's and was having a little fun with some unicorns of other breeds, but I need to start working on my stock of Hano foundies that I've been neglecting.

Thank you both default smiley (l)

@Axel'sMommy I hope all will be well and you'll have a speedy recovery default smiley (l)
Have they informed you just how long it will be before you'll be back to semi normalcy?

You know all about the pain, that is simply not possible to describe in mere words then. Nasty business, and one scary experience balancing on the knives edge.

As to a more fun topic default smiley :-x
.. has anyone experienced getting odd skills on some of their foals?
I've got 2 now that have glitchy skills. It amuses me actually, so I have thought about seeing if it would be possible to have a line of glichy skilled horses.... as in back breeding a line... once I get better that is

Here's a link to oddball no 1 and number 2

I know this is an old msg, but I have something to add or whatever you would call it.
I got my own little dead NIB project default smiley xd. But instead of using a spreadsheet, I write female A, female B, male C ect.
If I then breed FA and MC I will write (gender)AC, and then continue that way. And just make sure no letter is repeated.
Ofc. if you have a big project, this might not be the best solution, but for a little project (or perhaps up to 40-ish) I think it works splendid default smiley :)

I've added the Arabians Sylevar Falcori, default smiley :)

@JoergenG - it's a good idea - def usable for smaller scale projects like you said.
Have you abandoned the project entirely?

@Asfridur and Axel'sMommy, speed recoveries!

@Keeping records- I use an Excel spreadsheet for pedigrees. Super easy for me. If I knew how to add a screenshot, I would!

I always forget how easy it is to get sucked into breeding the NIBs. Put a few 3rd gens (from the same parents) on the ground today, and needed a female. All my males came out with amazing GPs, and decent skills. The females were lousy GPs and amazing skills. Haha! So, I Bolted the top boy hehe.

Dix

Also played around with my Canadian unicorns. I really need to work on them more! And find another Bolt, so I can have even numbers.

I had to give up the 100 BLUP breeding goals. I just don't have time to be spending on gaining that achievement. It really saddens me, but at least I can still NIB!

@Asfridur and @Axel'sMommy good luck!!
@Asfridur looks like you're a leader of sorts-- I basically joined today so I've only got two horses (who are both siblings so I won't be breeding them together XD), but I'm interested in NIB breeding and would like to be added to the list at some point?
By Retired breeder, 9th May 2017 07:05:30

@Asfridur and @Axel'sMommy get well soondefault smiley ;)

Isn't it okay to breed together your first two horses since Ouranos and Gaia are exceptions?
Thank you all default smiley (l)

@darkhorsefarm welcome on board, and welcome on Howrse.
Of course you can join!
If you want your name on the list just let us know, and I'll add you.

Nope I'm not a leader here, I just kinda post a lot in this thread default smiley ^)
I found it frustrating that I did not have a list of NIB'ers and what breeds we all work, so decided to try and make one.

@Pearl Onyx yes your right all foundies have Ouranos and Gaia as parents.
So the horses can indeed be used.

Even if the 2 foals you have darkhorsefarm are basically born from the same 2 horses they are a new exception to the NIB rules.
The 2 foals you have come from the new tutorial here on the game. So even though they are indeed siblings you can still use them. To start your project.

Crazy isn't it ... and confusing default smiley :o

It took many aging points and lots of sleepless nights to get that far!

I've been hoarding foundies and thankfully their prices have dropped a little bit so I'm hoarding more default smiley :) I want at least gen 10
default smiley :) your in for the long run then.

I'm grabbing drums when I can as well.
Very lucky the price has dropped indeed.

Not quite sure how many generations I'd like to breed yet. So I just grab a few here and there when I can

This is my first BIG BIG project I've taken on! Other projects and affixes I'm just kind of casual with except maybe my unicorns but they're not NIB.

I'm super pumped.

Wondering how I'm going to get the 40th birthday wandering horse though :/ I don't have many older ones.
