Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Don't forget guys that I have a list of the top 3 skills per breed to use as a reference if you're looking to begin a new project, or progress further with the one you have.

All feedback is welcome, and I will be working to provide simplified information such as this in the future.
I thought I would share my latest foal in my equal stars project I've been working on.
Finally starting to get very close default smiley :d

Couple ideas for you:
If you want to do classical, I'd do trot comps for wins and dressage for earning Equus, but you'd have to do some cross country if you want it BLUPed because stamina is in his top 3.

If you want to do western, you could get it's BLUP skills with cutting, finish off wins if you need them with western pleasure. Then it could do pretty good in barrels or reining too.

Personally if it were me I'd go western and have a good all-arounder, but you'd be pretty well set either way.

Thanks to a really nice cover from the Chincoteague Pony team From The Mist, I might get
Grand Canyon in the top 10 Elite for Chinco Pony skills and top 10 for a few of his other skills as well once I get his lessons finished. I don't feel bothered to fully cloud him or to pay/find a 60e EC so he gets what he gets in terms of lessonsdefault smiley (lol)

#2 Icelandic, #1 in Jumping and Dressage, and #3 in Gallop: )

Thinking of getting another Icelandic dominant cross out of her to get her skills sorted out? Maybe adding TB or something
By Retired breeder, 15th June 2016 20:39:59

wow!!!

thanks!
I'm trying to get a Holsteiner dominant foal good for gallop and show jumping from this 50x50 horse but it seems to prefer giving me a TB. What percentages am I looking for in the sire? 50x25x12.5x12.5 doesn't work. Would another 50x50 work, or should I bolt her? And if I do, what percents do I look for opposite her/him? Any help would be greatly appreciated.default smiley :)

@emeraldshards very nice indeed
I bought/bred a few horses, spent the past few weeks training them, and now they are at 100 BLUP. The trouble is I forgot what I wanted them for!default smiley (lol) Anyone have suggestions or want a foal from any of them?

I have a purebred Lipizzian, a purebred Selle, a KWPN x Lipizzian, a messy crossbreed, and her father(who turned out wonderful at comps for no obvious reason).
