Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

If you have a pure brumby mare, the foal will be the father's breed if he is also pure. Morgan would make it do well in show jumping and XC maybe.
If you pick a crossbred sire, with good dressage, gallop, and trot, you could get an easy winner in classical brumby breed only comps.

I had fun with a marwari dominant appaloosa cross. Maybe try that? He was good at classical comps.

Hmmmm what are some good breeds to cross a Lusi/Friesian mare with? Preferably with a focus in Dressage (or the other 'dressage' skills: Trot/Gallop)

Does anyone have a cross with decent speed that I could pair my Paso mare to?

I have two you might like- this one is almost blupped and this one will be in a week or two.

I actually have one for once! I've got this guy here depending on what other stats and breeds you're wanting in there?

I have plenty of crosses I wouldn't mind offering covers with...if they were stallions and could offer coversdefault smiley (lol)
I usually end up bolting to mares to breed them further or geld as a comper so I rarely have any studs I could use to assist in someone else's projectdefault smiley :$

@Tennis - Thank you! It was between that background and another that would have paired well with the coat.Honestly, I'm not sure what my ultimate goal is. This is the first time I've ever tried a cross.

Lusi's are hands-down the best dressage horses, but if you'd like to add something else, here's some you could (skills are best to worst)

To raise up Dressage, you could use...
Friesian: Dressage, Trot, Stamina, Gallop, Jumping, Speed
Nokota: Dressage, Trot, Jumping, stamina, speed, gallop
Knabstrupper: dressage, trot, jumping, gallop, speed, stamina

Trot's tricky, but you could use...
Peruvian Paso: Trot, speed, dressage, Stamina, jumping, gallop
Tennesse walker: Trot, Stamina, dressage, speed, jumping, gallop

and for gallop, there's...
Quarter Horse: Gallop, dressage, speed, jumping, stamina, trot
Welsh: Gallop, dressage, speed, jumping, stamina, trot

Ive a Lippzzan X Lusitano nearly at 100 BULP, any suggestions on what I should cross her with default smiley ;)

As often said, it depends on what you're breeding for. Some horses are good at one thing and not another, and vice versa.

@keepsake, Id like to breed away from the dressage this time not to sure what to go for so any suggestion or ideas would be a delight

Go for Western? I don't know those comps too well but they do use less dressage, I think. Or plan classical and raise speed? I'm not really sure what your horse's skills are like. Could you post a link?

I PM'd someone on the American Horror Story team to ask for a cross cover 3 days ago, nothing yet. Should I wait or try again?
