Does anyone know a good combination for a western monster (that's not barrel). I would like to do a crossbred that could eat western wins, lol.
I have access to above sales-gp Shagya Arabians, Trakehners and Irish Hunters, and may be able to get a crossbred Lusitano or Friesian cover if I ask nicely . Having said that I'm not too fussed about GP so long as it would stand a good chance of winning once decked out with full BMs and stuff. Thanks. |

Reporting in since I missed yesterday. First order of business, Paradise Lost, lusitano cross, sold today for 100k and 2 pass. Second, Narcissistic Cannibal is up to 80 Barrel wins. Woot! And third, Still working on gaming Avenging The Fallen. Once thats done, I will beach and start comping again with lessons until 25. Need to save up my passes for a cloud pack on that one.

megawifey- I would personally because his genetics are sloppy. all the uneven breed percentages makes it difficult to determine what kind of foal he would have if breed to another cross. But he is nice.

How do you get an australian Pony? A Holsteiner? Trakhener? etc.?
|
By Retired breeder, 10th February 2012 19:56:38
Um, you go to the sales and buy them?
Anyone have a Arab/Lusi stud? The GV/Mar filly's not BLUPped yet but I plan to finish her by tomorrow and I'd rather breed her to a cross than to an Arab and then to a Lusi. |

I mean, are they the result of cross breeding because they are not on the foundie list when you make your first horse?
|
By Retired breeder, 10th February 2012 20:06:40
They're not. You can find them in the directories as their own breeds. Don't know why they're not a foundie option, though.
|
I believe it's because howrse wants them to be of the rareish side. I'm betting the Nakota and the other new westerny breeds they come out with will not be a foundation option for joining howrse. Or they may be on there for a day or two then taken off.
|
No they won't be part of the foundation stock you can select from when you first join howrse. Those horses are already programmed to be the first. Any new breeds added to the game since the game first came online you can only get through sales.

Its the same with the Russian Don's. Breeds added after the games initial start wont be added to the first horse breed this for new players.
Well, Im bored. Nothing new. |

Can someone please explain to me what exactly cross breeding is? Thank you! I may like to get into it.... But I just adore and LOVE purebreds!

meghan10- crossbreeding is just taking different breed horses and breeding them together. Helps even out skill s or make a horse who is bad in one skill better at that skill when breed to another breed who specializes in that skill. Like GV's have low trot. Breed it to a female standy and you get a GV with better trot.

My plans keep backfiring. I was gonna BLUP my GV/Mar tonight but the next gen PB Mar I just bred has 199.34 dressage and 109.49 trot, so if I BLUP/breed a few more generations I can get 67* PB Mars and the GV/Mar I breed out of THAT will have higher GP than the one I popped out last night. Argh, why do my Mars make life so difficult.
Also, um, anyone have a box + shower I can use for 3 days? |
I was hoping to get started on my Westerner, but I'm just now getting home and we mitt be leaving soon. *grumbles* And my 10 passes won't be coming in. Bleh.

Hey guys I'm back! How's the crossing going?
It looks like I will *finally* be able to start working on Smooth Criminal, (this horse should have been done by now. It's irritating me that I haven't started working on her yet... ) On the bright side Dancing Through Life is still ranked #4 Elite Shagya! I would never have expected her to stay up there so long. I must have done something right then! Also, what do you guys think of Holsteiner crosses? |
By Retired breeder, 10th February 2012 23:11:13
Horselover- Haven't seen very many Holsteiner crosses. May be worth it to breed one.
Fifth- What do you think would pay off more? Bluping and breeding some generation Mars or skilling one now and waiting till later? You could always wait and beat yourself out later lol. I would like to see a Mustang cross. Thinking of doing one myself but I dont have the passes or time. They look like it would be a fun cross to do though... |
