Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

amylinn- a Standardbred would be useful if you wanted a good western pleasure cross.

I switched my Friesian-Lusty-GV cross to Western to see how it went; not going to well so far. However, my Arab-Friesian cross is doing okay so far, and so is my Paint. None of them are really "dominating," though.
Thanks guys (: I was actually training up a TB... He's no where near finished yet. haha.

a freisan, Standardbred cross would do great in Western pleasure.. I dont have the passes to try it out though, so if anyone tries it out, could you please tell me the results? Also, what else would be good for that mix?

Hi guys,

Here's a mustang X-bred filly I just bred. What do you think? (Ok, I know she's not the best out there, but I want to get your opinion anyhow!)

Should there be some Thoroughbred in there, do you think? - Thanks
I'd BLUP her mother and then rebreed.

Well, yes, that is the plan, Twilight72. But at this point, all babies from that particular match will be around that gp, and I'm not quite ready to produce skiller foals yet anyway. What about the breed mix?
I've never done anything with Mustangs, I couldn't really tell you about the mix for what would go well. If you like the gp, skill spread, and have comps in mind, then it should be fine.

Thanks... I'm also sort of "at sea" where mustangs crosses are concerned, even though I've been buying/breeding them for a while. I guess I'll keep looking for people who have similar projects going default smiley :d

That baby is gorgeous, Patrick~
Proud of my new cross. I think i'm gonna use him as a reining horse. If anyone wants covers from his dad, let me know.

I wish there was a way to search for crosses in sales! Was looking for a nice mare to add some new breeds in but all I could find were purebreed!

Well I'm bored. Anyone have a box + shower for my breeder filly? EC Classified is looking hopeless and I want to work on the reining Mar cross while I still have the fountain.
hey guys just bought a paint mare. Anyone need any cross foals from her? I won't use tears unless someone send them but if someone needs an in between foal from her let me know.

She was born for this! So happy with her success in western comps, can't wait to she how she and her younger half-sister turn out! Hopefully with the western objectives I can get BM's for the little one
