Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

It depends on what you want to accomplish with it.
Does anyone have a 5000gp+ trail class mare I could get a foal out of (from my own stallion)?

I would prefer it to be decent in the other skills, too.

What breeds excel in speed and trot? I'm looking to breed my twin Arabian fillies Callie and Shannon when they're old enough too.

My best cross bloodline comes from my first GA, a dark bay Thoroughbred mare named Faster Than Light. I bought her in direct sales and raised/trained her from a foal. Horses descended from her include Dashing Light, Light Up the Sky (Highland/TB), Desert Rose (introducing Akhal-Teke), Whisper (bringing in Standardbred), and most recently little Echo of the Light, also a dark bay TB filly. Six generations! All of the horses I mentioned are in the Close to My Heart breeding tab, if you want to see them.

@ Apple Rosa: Those two are pretty good.

Does anyone have an estimate of which breeds would improve the bloodline I mentioned above? I'm planning on bring in Peruvian Pasos and more Akhal-Teke and Highland Pony. (Note: The mare I'm using from it at the moment is Whisper)

Hey everyone! I took a small break from crossbreeding and the game, but I'm back! I've been busy the past few days breeding some new projects. I'm going for as even a skill set as possible.

TWalker/TB
Nashville and Memphis

QH/Icelandic
Akureyri and
Reykjavik (need to bolt first)

Finally an unamed colt of QH/Peruvian Paso. Not sure if I'm going to keep him or not.

I so miss crossing, but I have too many mares just collecting dust. Until custom foals are wanted, I can't retire them.
I am working 2 pure mares for crossing when I'm able to get back in. A QH, and Crio.
My Crio has a twin sister I won't be using...wink, winky.

Crio

Until then, could always use a hand on making a spreadsheet or something for my secret 4 way project...

I think I have noticed that when a foal is 50/50 it's breed is classified as that of the fathers. Can anyone confirm this?
Yes this is right, when horses are equal crosses the foal will always take the Sire's last listed breed.

Anyone want to help me recreate Lauderdale? I want the project for my upcoming birthday.

Anyone have some cross foals their wanting to get rid of? I need some more babies to skill up for my EC. I've also recently bred some TB/Arab's, TB/Mustang's and their getting to be my favorite. default smiley (lol)

Also, if anyone buys Golden Apples, feel free to message me! default smiley ;)
I've got a few Cerb, but they're like...no higher than 4000GP. See why I miss crossing? I can't raise GPs. But I don't want dozens and dozens of mares just sitting around. I want to retire them lol

I could work on my secret 4 way project, but I'm at a loss on how to structure a spreadsheet for them, as far as who to breed to who and such...

I would take you up on them, but I'm trying to have 7000+GP. I think I'm gonna focus on my TB/Arab crosses as well as my Mustang crosses. See how they go default smiley (lol)
