Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Can't believe that I've been away for nearly two years, so much has changed like when did the average GP get so high??!! Anyway I've mostly retired my old affix "Disenchanted Memory" and created "Carpe Vinum" for 2017.
I wanted to get back into my Akhal Teke's but I couldn't find any decent stallions so I've gone right back to my original fav; Marwaris.
I'm a bit rusty but these two have/should do very well in the rankings.
Oblivion is currently 3rd for Stamina
Lux should hit the rankings tomorrow with an elite top 10 and top placings in jumping and speed
I also have a Gypsy mare that I'm a bit uncertain what to do with, breed another Marwari or do something else? What would a good combination be?

I crossed a high-skill and GP Chincoteague pony with a high-skill and GP Standardbred and got a skiller in all skills! Chinco's have the exact oppisite best skills as a Standard, so it was a great match!

bred this Crilly filly cross.
Any ideas what to do with her?

The only two horses with barrel skills (speed, stamina, and gallop) in their top 3 are mustangs and mawaris. However quarter ponies, fjords, brumbies, paints, PSH, Chincoteague, and thoroughbreds all have those 3 in their top 4.

Breeds with cutting skills (stamina, dressage, and speed) in their top three are quarter ponies, Criollos, and fjords. Breeds with the 3 in their top 4 are highland ponies, Akhal-Tekes, Barbs, shayga arabs, curlies, paints, PSH, Chincoteague, and Morgans.

Hope that helps default smiley ^)

Breeding. I want to produce maybe a all rounder from her but I'm unsure on what to breed her to default smiley :)

Trakes have jumping and gallop as their top two skills so maybe breed her to one to bring up her jump and gallop?

I have a 7300+ Gypsy Vanner mare that I can bolt to offer a covering. This is her.

I don't have the heart anymore to sell any of my crosses from my Crayola Mix or even my Frasers of Lovat fails. I'd look at my affix and see some that I had sold and think, "why did I let you go?" Of course, most of those had PreCS coats that the creators eventually retired, so maybe that had something to do with itdefault smiley (lol)

Anyone have some Mustang and/or Thoroughbred crosses I could look at? I need a new project.
By Retired breeder, 4th January 2017 23:40:03

Yep. I've got a few.

Mustang/Noko
Gypsy/TB
Arab/TB
KWPN/Mustang
TB/Lip/Gypsy
TB/Appy/Paint
TB/Mar
TB/Lip

For the Mustang/Noko, Gypsy/TB, Arab/TB, and Mustang/KWPN, I do have ones that are totally finished if you want to see those.
By Retired breeder, 5th January 2017 00:06:45
Rainy, can I see the finished Mustang/Noko please?
Also, that NDBH you gave me awhile back is almost finished. Just needs to hit 10 years.
By Retired breeder, 5th January 2017 00:22:28
Hehe. You like my NDBHs. default smiley xd Yes, I will show the finished Mustang/Noko.

Finished Mustang/Noko
I'm so salty about affixes rn. I love my knab affix but blupping knabs drives me up the wall. I hate my cross affix but what can I do. It's a struggle.

ANYWAY new baby for cutting. Should be fun. Hasn't really got a name right now.

I do, I do! Which is why you're still gonna let him cover your NDBH mare, right? He will be done tomorrow unless I decide to age him.

Oooh, my favorite skill set! I may I to look for a Noko cover for my mare.
