Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I'm pretty sure that most of the prix teams are not cross friendly......

I agree with that. Usually if they are cross friendly, they will say it on their page. Or one of their team members' pages. Or that's been my experience looking at teams. I would either wait or message another team.

A couple questions. Can you "breed out" a cross breed? Im doing a fun cross to try and get all breeds in one horse. But just realized only the first 5 breeds are showing... but I'm also on the mobile version. And I forgot the other question lol but I'm sure I'll remember. TIA!

No you cannot. (We used to be able to do that but they took the feature away). If the horse has more than 5 breeds in it, the lowest percentage(s) get dropped to have the highest five. If the horse has less than five breeds in it, it will always show at least 1% for any breed (the same goes for the 5 breeds, but it's the top 5 breeds).

Thank you... looks like my fun little project just got a lot harder

For an all breed project I personally recommend starting with a purebred of each breed, pairing them up and then breeding them together. You'll get a couple generations of an even pairing of horses and then you'll have about two of odd amounts.

I found it's easier that way to trace back to see the purebreeds (and that way you know what breeds you have in the bloodline) than starting with horses that are already cross bred as then you have to trace back to see what breeds there are.

nice!

I like the name...because I used to have 2 Red Rumped Opaline Parakeets...
we ended up having to give them to someone who actually knew how to really take care of birds. We were NOT abusive to the birds...we just were not totally sure what we were doing default smiley xd

Hey guys, looking for a stallion fully BLUPed with 7000+ GP. Yes I know this is quite a bit, but I am willing to pay for it. Please make it a Tenessee Walker, Gypsy Vanner, or Friesan. Thanks! I am also willing to pay with horses, mostly AP level or one of my foals. PM me please.

What is a good mustang cross that will result in great trail horses?

I have been breeding purebred mustangs since I started, I have a couple drum horses in breeding and a marwari filly.
I don't know but does anyone have a 7000+ GP fully BLUPed TW, GV, or Friesian? Thanks! I am willing to pay with 600+ GP foals and the highest price for a few coverings for Firefly.

@benjiakki, I am pretty sure you are not allowed to buy/sell horses for anything other than equus and passes. Also, advertising is not allowed in this thread. Maybe try advertising on your page or EC forum? default smiley :)

Just to let you know, you can't "pay" other players with horses or trade horses. There is no feature set up for that so it is against the rules.

High GP Gypsies are pretty easy to come by in sales so you should be able to find a fully blupped one, or find a high GP foal to blup yourself.default smiley ;)

hmmm, I haven't done many Mustang crosses but since their top 3 skills are gallop, stamina and dressage, and Trail comps use dressage, trot and jump, you might be hard pressed to make one "great" in trail comps unless you're looking to compete in breed only.

Knabstruppers and Nokotas are your trail breeds, but higher GPs are hard to come by. A fairly decent substitute for a purebred of those is a KWPNxLus or NokoxKWPN. I have several variations of these in my "comp fillers">trail horses tab if you'd like to see some examples. So you could breed one of those crosses first and then add that to your Mustang. I'd have to work out the genetics to see a better estimate of what you could do

I have two questions. Before asking the questions, though, here's the general information that I'm working with:

Female Paso:
34% Paso, 28% KWPN, 18% Lusi, 18% Gypsy

Female KWPN:
39% KWPN, 34% Vanner, 17% Paso, 9% Lusi

The goal is to pull a Paso foal out of the pair.

Question #1: Does it matter which of these I bolt and make the stallion?
Question #2: Can I pull a Paso out of these two?

As long as I included all the breeds correctly, you won't have a Paso foal with that combo.
Add up all the breeds you see and divide by 2 and you get:
33.5% KWPN
26% Gypsy
25.5% Paso
13.5% Lusitano
So you'd end up with a Kwpn

I do not believe you will. The foal would probably be KWPN but there is no harm in trying.

You are only allowed to ask for coverings here. If that is what you are asking for, then I have a 7300+ GV mare I can bolt to offer a covering.

I did finish another Gyp. though.

And now, to blup. Hopefully get 4 done...which means that by this time next week, I can get to my crosses.

Thanks. competition does mustangs, or mustang croso do good in? My first 2 mustangs were doing better in trail than anything else so I was assuming that was their best competition.

And what competition are Drum horses better in, and which style of competitions classical or western?
My drums all do Western Pleasure (I think). rides complete then train the stamina and dressage, enter until bolded, fill, then train trot once I have the wins.
