Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

Notbob! Great to see you, its been so long! I've been good, finally finding more time for this game again. Getting back into it slowly.

Still indecisive about what cross I want to do. I always have had more fun doing western crosses, might do something with one of the newer breeds. Lippizan maybe? I don't know, I've never been good at figuring out what I want to do lol.
I posted a few days back asking what should I breed my cross to get a pleasure comper. I wanted to do Paint and someone suggested Paso or Hackney.

I couldn't decide so I bred my mare to a Paint and a Hackney, but worked on my Paint first and am glad I did. Never expected it, but I got Pixie Powder ranked in the top 5 for both stamina *and* trot for Paint skills! I've never had a horse ranked in the top 100, let alone top 5, or one I bred myself.

She was just an experiment, so with some tweaking and more planning I'm looking forward to another cross projectdefault smiley :)

Hey guys! Looking for some advice on a cross for this guy .
I'm trying to find or breed a filly that would compliment him to produce a good dressage mix. Something low in stamina and high in gallop that won't tank out in Dressage and Trot. Ideas?

Lusi maybe? They have decent gallop and high dressage and trot. You could also try Lipi but I think their trot is pretty bad.

Lusi might work. Thanks!

On a different note, I know I saw a master list of highest/ lowest skills by breed somewhere in here and I can't find the page XD Anyone know where that was, or where to get a copy of it?
It should be just a few pages back, since I know it was posted recently (I saw it too)

Hey - is anyone doing Morgan crosses? I am trying to experiment with some foundie TWs but can't find much on the Morgans in sales or anywhere really. Should I just focus on getting the best covers I can? I think they'd make a nice Rocky Mountain type horse. default smiley (l)

I think Moon specializes in Morgans, try asking her about them.

He looks really nice!

Foundation Morgans are going to be a kick in the pants to find. If I'm not mistaken, Legacy is cross friendly and you'd have to contact pikammd I think.

This is my plan for a nice jump horse (hopefully pfft-)

Breed Hanoverian and Holsteiner together (Does anyone know which breed offers higher coverings?) and then breed that cross to a Selle. I might throw in some KWPN blood in there too.

I just want to put jump skills over dressage, since most of my dressage/showjump horses have dressage as higher.

Does that sound like a good plan? And any suggestions to make it better?

I kinda want to say Hano probably offer higher than Holsties. But I could be wrong. It sounds like a good plan default smiley :)

@ starry97 Hanos are at higher GP, the top teams of both breeds offer coverings for crossbreeding.
Yup, I've got a Holsteiner mare and I'm covering with a Hano soon! I'm hoping the Hano, KWPN, and Selle blood will bring up the GP to around 5000- It might take a few generations, but I really want some nice jumping horses pfft-

I've got a few Holsteiner cross stallions, high GP, if you want to take a look! only one is blupped at the moment but there's another on the way. Also a mare 3rd in Holsteiner rankings default smiley :) Give me a shout if you want to partner up!

Ooh, nice! I'm really interested in keeping my final target horse to just those 4 breeds, but I'd like to perhaps experiment with your stallions? I'll PM you when I'm ready~
