Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

^ latest babydefault smiley :)

Don't forget, I'm trying to retire mares. I've already linked them several pages back, so if you want a foal from them, please ask? They're just gunna sit there and collect dust for years if they're not retired.

I'm super bored, so I guess I should plan and make a new cross. I have no ideas at the moment

What's a KWPNxPasoxMarwari good at
By Retired breeder, 8th February 2016 00:06:42
Maybe with some selle thrown in too. I have access to the top GP of all those breeds toodefault smiley :d
I don't think it would be good at anything really, the skillset would be strange

and how do you have access to top gp? Pasos don't give out covers default smiley :p

So I am looking to get a good dressage horse or show jumping, what would I breed with a Nokota or Fjord to get that??

Same. I kind of gave up on my barrel cross from earlier. default smiley (lol) Just gonna wait until inspiration strikes.

Actually, before I give up on it entirely, does this sound like a desirable skillset for barrels?

Stamina 1048.19125
Speed 1129.94125
Gallop 1163.9225

Only problem is stamina isn't one of the top 2 skills, so it wouldn't gain from lessons to make up for being slightly lower.

Beach it perhaps?

Since I would be barrel comping it would be best to beach for speed, so no

Why can't mustang be tossed into it?

Hm, alright *thinks*

I am trying to emulate a Mustang skillset but tweak it slightly so that gallop is higher. I think that throwing Mustang in would kind of defeat the purpose of that but I will try, just for the heck of it.

Actually, I think Mustang did the trick! I ended up with this skillset, when crossed with the "foal" I posted before:

Stamina 1052.200625
Speed 1204.230625
Gallop 1042.37125

Hey, I got a question.

Going to make a shetland X comp skiller for SJ and what is all needed to do a proper skiller? Go ahead and PM me if needed :3

Minimally:

- Nyx Pack (items can also be added separately but Nyx is easiest)
- 20 POC/piece of cloud pack (latter is the cheapest option)
- WOY
- 60e center

Additional items such as a Heel, Stroke, etc. are useful but not entirely necessary. Of course, if you're going to be comping, you're going to want to deck it out with all bonuses possible. (and it is recommended that you geld it for the bonus, unless you plan on breeding it later)

I don't geld my crosses (even though I probably should) because I always end up breeding them for something at some point, but I find that they usually do well enough without gelding if they have a good IBS. But it all depends on the foal itself.

I was going to go with whatever gender I get honestly haha.

Alright, I am going to probably be getting around 30+ passes next week or so... I am going to assume that is enough?

I planning on spending 7 or so passes on the mare I plan on getting (MA, C.Timer plus buying a high GP KWPN or Selle)
By Retired breeder, 8th February 2016 01:00:00
Plus of course hera packing the gal once blupped default smiley (lol)

Enough with some left over, most likely. Your cost of buying and blupping the mare is about the cost of your average skiller gelding, and it usually adds up to be around 20 passes total (without any items added from inventory).

Well I think I can. Eva and I are friends.

Alright default smiley (y) thankfully I was able to trade/had some of the stuff already default smiley (m) fun part will be deciding which mare to get a KWPN or a selle default smiley (lol)

KWPNs are dressage, jump, and speed, while Selles are jump, speed, and dressage. I think Shetlands have the same skillset as Selles, so it just depends on which skill you'd like to improve.

Pretty much my breeding plan is this

Buy mare, blup and so forth, Hera pack age to birth and from there bolt one of them. the one chosen for a skiller will be H.Pack also haha
