Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Hey I'm looking for a cover for my mare. Anyone have/ know of a stud, preferably a mix, that's NOT part KWPN and has at least 900 (prefer 1000) GP in Jumping, Dressage and Speed?
By Retired breeder, 3rd February 2016 17:20:47

You can search with specific skill GPs in the public covering offers, under the "more criteria" link default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 3rd February 2016 17:28:47
I know I can search public covers but I haven't found much there that's not KWPN.
^^ please make sure you read the main post for this topic, and what it is for - discussing cross breeding is great - adverts are not default smiley (y)

Sadly unsung I don't have that :/ I searched but neither of my Chinco boys do.
By Retired breeder, 3rd February 2016 17:44:44
Ok I'm sorry I guess I'll rephrase that to a question - where do you find studs if you can't find what you're looking for in public covers?
By Retired breeder, 3rd February 2016 17:47:17

Lurk around, ask breeders and what not really
By Retired breeder, 3rd February 2016 18:18:55
Thanks for helping out!
Most of us have to breed what we need to produce a certain cross. Most of the time you won't find a specific stud in public covers

Heads up ya thinking of bolting a higher calling, SO if you want any coverings from him, but it now or in the future for a mare let me know.

And YES even after being bolt if he has a covering for you he can still breed even though bolted!
By Retired breeder, 3rd February 2016 21:38:18
So a few pages back I mentioned I wanted to one day breed all crosses with Haflingers.
Here's my first one.

Halflinger | Thoroughbred | 50/50 cross
HERE
Not much different from a purebred Thoroughbred though default smiley (lol)

Lol... Were you watching Netflix when your foal was born??
