The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Hello everyone!
I'm curious to find out more about NIB horses. default smiley :)
What is the purpose of breeding a NIB horse, are there any advantages or disadvantages? I'm planning on inbreeding my foundation horses, but now I'm a little unsure if I'm doing the wrong thing in case it will put me at a disadvantage! In general, do people mind (in the sales) if a horse is NIB or IB or not?

there aren't any advantages or disadvantages. the purpose i s'ppose is just a different type of challenge to the game. competitive people make use of inbreeding as a way to advance their line's genetic potential faster.

people don't mind at all. im fairly certain 90%+ of the horses in sales are inbred, somewhere. also, if you're breeding the horses you got from the tutorial, that isn't considered in breeding. the beginning of every NIB line is actually foundie horses (horse's whose parents are Ouranos and Gaia)

You guys knew I wouldn't be able to stay away from the NIB community foreverdefault smiley xd

I decided to do ALL the Paint projects:

NIB rolling gain Paint unicorns
NIB rolling gain Paint horses
NIB original paint horses

The only project I don't think I'll be able to afford is the original paint unicornsdefault smiley xd I'll leave those alone.

Anyways, I accidentally started collecting these a while ago, so hey, I already have a herd of each. Why not. Now... do we still have a "registry" somewhere that we list what breeds we are doing?

I am looking for horses from 2007 in the following breeds with a gp of 350 not fully bupped no stars and must be gaia horses. I figured posting this in the nib might be the best way to find some of these horses

I'm thinking of creating a NIB team but not sure what breed. I'd imagine I need to buy a lot of one breed of foundations which I have a small collection of some breeds, but would need quite a few more

I'd like to do 350s because I just enjoy original foundations because its kind of like some nostalgia of the old days and a bit more of a challenge. But, it'd be easier to find rolling gains foundations. I'm 50/50 but, If I could find someone to join me and they had a preference I'd be fine with anything as long as we have a good time! I'm looking to shape my game more beyond just logging in a couple times a day to play the challenges and care for divines. I've begun getting rid of a lot of my horses and BMIs I dont use to build up equus to buy more foundations.

I just really need to decide what breed to focus on and if I should do 350s or RG.


Any opinions on what to do or anyone who already breeds and would like to help me shape a small team?

I hear ya there. I am planning on getting my teams off the ground but neither are NIB. Maybe pick a breed that isn't popular in here? Or pick a breed that kind of had an "over release" like the Haflinger. Even if I can't officially be part of a team, I'd still help ya out if you wanted.

Can you have more than one affix? Maybe you could do an original GP affix and a RG affix so you wouldn't have to decide?

I have a RG Kerry bog I would sell if you choose that breed I have never touched it so you can do as you wish. I agree though I I like the 350 gp horses.

How do you all manage to BULP foundations? I'm mostly worried about having enough AP. I've tried AP farming but boarding horses takes forever so I've kind of given up on that. default smiley :s

@TheHobbyBarn if you want to BLUP the old GP's to 100% you need fillers. There is no going around it. The GP of most of the horses here now, is simply too high. So you'll get stomped.
