It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Storm - right? I miss NIBing with the community! The rolling gain thing and difficulty to get wins on 350gp horses just killed me. I'm glad to see others in this niche are more resilient than medefault smiley (lol)

As far as NIB goes, I've got a small collection of RG foundie paint horses and paint unicorns, which I'm slowly BLUPing. At the moment they are just a golden apple collection but once I get them BLUPed I probably won't be able to resist having the world's slowest paint NIB projectdefault smiley (lol) My Kaktos and Hipparion are kind to me too, and I've been buying cheap Kaktos unis when I see them, so I've got some random RG horses and unicorns that I'm working on BLUPing. I may just offer covers with them instead of starting a project though, they are all different breeds.

I can still hang out with you guys if I do a teeny bit of NIBing, right? default smiley 8-)

Otherwise, I just got VIP status so my game is dominated by my high GP unicorn teams!

Speaking of NIB... I think I have some foundie draft horses BLUPed that I'll literally never use the covers for. I have a male Shire, a male Percheron, and a female Drum. (and a female donkey). They are part of my GA collection so they aren't in danger of going anywhere, so if anyone wants a cover/foal from one let me knowdefault smiley (lol)

@OL,

What kind of a question is that? default smiley (lol). I guess I should probably update my friends list with your name. It still says NIB Shagyas in the tab 0.0. Gone are those days, though, aren't they?

And I still have my original foundation projects. I'm still doing my Appies. But I do dabble with the RG foundies.

I have a question... I've seen several foundation donkeys in the sales recently that were born 3/2018. How did people get these?

TheHobbyBarn - Hipparion gives you foundies of breeds you don't have. If you don't have any donkeys, it might give you a foundie donkeydefault smiley (y)

I love how active you guys have been here these last past days default smiley (l)

Getting closer and closer to being able to breed a 4th gen drum. Need me 2 of those though before I'll be able to breed a 5th gen for the only 5th NIB I have. But I'm definitely going places default smiley (lol)

Same!

I bred my first 1G in a couple of years, which was from two Friz Uni parents and she was born hornless, but 2* from foundation parents when it took me 7G to get my 2* Appy. It's crazy how far NIB horses have come without even coming that far! 0.0

Yes exactly. Sure was a LOT more difficult to even get a 1 star gain.

I was shocked to see how fast the new breed Kerry Bog got to over 8000 in GP. Took like a week or a little more.

I think it took me 4 to 5Gs to get the first ever, NIB Appaloosa Greenstar

I wish I had kept all my ancient ones. I only have a few first gen Canadians left. From way back when I made this account.
Sad fact is I only affixed a few of them all. Here's a first gen

I will not be making the same mistake with my other NIB's. Their staying put.

Wow, she is an ancient one. I have all the NIBs from the lines that created my 1* and my 2*. I want to make it my goal to get all my Foundation horses their wins this year. Even if they aren't my Appaloosas. So if you want to have any BLUP parties, let me know. But it's really nice having an old NIBer around that isn't me. default smiley (lol).

I'm jealous you still have all of yours default smiley (lol)

I've got several hundred Shagya foundies left to work. So a BLUP party would most certainly be sweet ^

And no your definitely not the only one left NIB'ing.
I'm just going slow.

I'm going as slow as the wins that don't come in! default smiley (lol)

I kept all of mine because I didn't want to run into the "horse disappeared" horror. Haha. I don't have all the NIB foals because I let the extras go but I still have them from that line.

Two of my foundation horses just threw this guy:

Indian 3*

3* in 1G 0.0

Compare her to:
Shining Moment 2*

and
Star Bright 1*

How times have changed!

I bred a Don from old GP stock i March, and got a horse with 451 in GP 2*

I just threw a 5* from two old 7Gs!

The TBs got up to 15* before the community died! I was not paying attention when that happened.

And yeah the gain on your RD is pretty impressive, isn't it?

O_O dang that is crazy!

I think misabel is still breeding them.

Yes and when ever I see such gain I shake my head in wonder. I know it's just numbers. But it was more fun when it took a lot more effort to gain stars.

I just checked my drafts. The GP of the offspring is all over the place.

Examples.
Foals from 1831 foundie stock - I get GP spanning from 1865 - 1908
Foals from 2067 foundie stock I get GP spanning from 2119 - 2142

Second gens and onwards are slightly more even. But that is only due to me trying my hardest to match the studs more evenly GP wise

@Storms Ransome, that'd be great.

If anyone else wants to join, we could have a blup party.

We totally should. We just need to figure out what kind of IM platform everyone would be comfortable using, or if they would be at all. I also have access to my friend's fillers through joint account, if needed.

do y'all use discord? we could have an NIB server :3

I had made one, but it was quite a while ago and I think I deleted it.

But anyway, Discord would be best for me.
