It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Are you looking for original foundies (350-351.20 GP) or rolling gain? I normally find rolling gain foundies by searching for purebred horses and GP 100 hundred less than the most recent release. I normally look for foals, so if you search for horses with less than 60 skills and less than 1.6 years old, some usually come up. If you’re looking for a certain breed, just filter the breed you want in he sales.

It’s a bit harder and more expensive to find an original foundie, but searching for horses with less than 355 GP usually pulls some up in the sales.

Yes I miss the active days in this thread as well.

NIB'ing old GP stock is so hard now, that I've even had to settle for less than 100% BLUP on my second gen Shagya. I'm still working them, but I really wish Howrse hadn't wrecked this part of the game.

Still working on my rolling gain drums as well.

I still have my original old GP Foundie projects but I also have the same breeds with rolling gain now as well just to give me a reason to keep playing. Otherwise I wouldn't have a reason to keep coming back. Are you settling for less than 100 BLUP on your 2nd Gens because of comps?

I wish they hadn't changed this part of the game either :/

Yes my low pixels are outgunned GP wise and as the GP goes up it becomes even harder.
I used to be able to get wins on the old GP, and pretty easily so with the first gens.
Now I simply cannot do it. Not even when I equip all the first and second gens with GA's and various bonuses.

To get wins it's needed to use fillers on all available spots in each comp. And honestly that's not my idea of fun default smiley :(

I can go full BLUP with my rolling gain Drums. But the Shagya not possible. So I try and get them over 70+ and that alone can be challenging as well.

I do have fun breeding a few higher GP's as well as some crosses every now and then.
But if it wasn't for my NIB's and a few old friends, I would have left long ago.

It is so hard to get wins with the old foundies! default smiley :s I want to start NIB Quarter horses but it is taking so long to blup them (I got some old and rolling gain) I haven't gotten a single foal yet. And I don't have any fillers which doesn't make it any easier. I wish the Blup system hadn't changed.

@Magdie if I'm online at the same time as you, don't hesitate to give me a shout. Give me the name of your horse / horses and tell me what comps you have entered (gallop, jump etc), and I'll try an help you out.

I'm not sure if I have quarter fillers, but all breed comps won't be a problem..

I'm with you Asfridur. Most of the group I played have gone their separate ways or do different projects or are busy with life. I have one that I still talk to but I don't really play with anyone anymore and I miss it terribly :/ If you and Magdie ever want to do BLUP parties (which are not my idea of fun either) let me know.

Also I used to get better foals from horses with less than 100BLUP. So maybe that can provide some hope.

I'm still here! quietly in the background, but still here! I'm rolling along with the GV/Connie crosses and Howrse finally made my dreams come true with the new Kerry Bog Pony release!!!! That'll be my next project so I can try my hand with the rolling GPs. Maybe I should get back into Irish Hunters so I can have a fully Celtic-themed breeding farm... default smiley :d

I'm using the old foundies since I've stockpiled quite a few over the years (and not all of them are even BLUPed!) I feel like I'm part of the "Old Guard" these days and it's pretty odd, actually. Good thing I have several years' worth of projects to keep me busy!

Reading through some of the latest posts. I see I'm not the only one having a hard time getting wins with the original foundations and their first generation. Almost makes me want to abandon them altogether, but I worked so hard on them, I'd hate to relegate them to my AP farm.

Hi everyone!

The idea of NIB looks really interesting. It seems much more challenging, and despite having played howrse a few timed before, I've never given it a go. I have a few of the rolling GP fundies from starting my account so I thought I'd have a go!

The foundie breeds I have are : Thoroughbred, Paint, Quarter Horse and Kerry Bog. Of those i have the one stallion, a Thoroughbred.

I just wanted to stop by the forum and say hello, as well as asking if theres anything in particular I should know before i get started?

I'm looking forward to embarking on this default smiley :d
