The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Honestly I do not know. Most NIB'er prefer to keep their own stock.
Anyone???

But you could ask either Driananium, dark_angel2788 or Sylevar Falcori if they want to part or breed for NIB's for you.

If I had, say, 4 Connemara foundy pairs (we'll call them 1+2, 3+4, 5+6, and 7+8) and I bred
1+2 to get foal #1,
3+4 to get foal #2,
5+6 to get foal #3, and
7+8 to get foal #4,
then bred #1 foal to #2 foal to get x# foal,
and #3 foal to #4 foal to get y# foal,
THEN bred x and y together to get the final Project Accomplished, would that still be non inbreeding (NIB) acceptable?

NIBing is so addictive. I don't have any horses IRL, so this is as close as I'll get to owning a horse.

I'm breeding Hanoverians, at least for now, and I'm very interested in breeding my mares with other NIB Hanos later..But how can I know for sure which stallions are NIB?

Only way to know your using a NIB is to trace all the ancestors, and make sure the same horse is only used once. If it is you have an inbred horse, and not a NIB.
Tracing ancestors becomes tricky if you use public covers, and close to impossible if your using higher end covers.

So basically:
- There is no inbreeding (the same horses are only listed once)

- None of the ancestors have been used as passhorses - if they have, you cannot trace all the horses uses, and thus have no proof the horse is NIB.

- A player has deleted their account, and you cannot trace the ancestors.

The above means that most NIB'ers use their own stock only.
How ever some NIB'er do offer covers.

I've started working on some second gens, even though it was my intention to finish working all my foundies first. But I was beginning to feel like I was going nowhere, so decided to move unto the first and second gens, while slowly working more foundies on the side.

I don't mind giving out covers, as long as they're 2nd-generation or lower. I have a bazillion BLUPed foundie stallions that I've already used and retired, just hanging around and twiddling their digital hooves.

BTW Asfridur, you may want to check your reserved sales.

Vag111 and Naztuki, I believe, still have TESF going on which I can't remember what it stands for, is a breeding farm with Foundation horses at least. I'm not sure if they are still doing 1G or not.
